We were the only ones at the place when we arrived at 5:30 pm. We called in & ask if it was ok to take our toddler in there since we love trying new places & we are new to the area! We are new to the area and we like trying new places. Today, Quarter Mile Bar was awful. We showed up for breakfast. My husband ordered the pancakes, 2 eggs, 2 pieces of sausage. I ordered the chicken fried steak and eggs. How in the world it could be ruined. The cook does not know what he is doing! Our hashbrowns were ice cold. My chicken fried steak was not fully cooked. It was the frozen patty like you can buy at Walmart in the frozen entry section. The middle of the patty was still ice cold. The gravy was from a mix and very runny. Big big big disappointment. We are from Tenino and this place didn't stand against Sandstone Cafe - even the coffee was cold. The service was crudy also. Had to ask for everything like a spoon, a fork, butter for the pancakes. I did not finish my breakfast but asked for a box 'cause the dog might want it! Don't bother with this place. I think the drinks at night are what they survive on! We've been here a few times for drinks but my husband needed onion rings tonight, and apparently Yelm rolls up the sidewalks on Easter. So we rolled in here with the rest of the heathens. Got a couple well priced drinks and waited for our food to go. Service was fast and friendly and the food was great! We got a couple burgers, fries, and onion rings. This is a fun bar in the town of Yelm. They have some basic bar food and a stage for some live music too. I tried the BLT with fries and it was good but the fries were excellent with the chipotle sauce for dipping. Tried a Shock Top Blonde which was also good. Deep fried mushrooms were really good but the rest of the food we got was terrible including the blt, fish n chips, fries.

Such a shame a bunch of kids are running it with no apparent management onsite. Smoke breaks and friends come before actual customers. Consistantly good food doesn't make up for neglect. We eat out almost every night and tip well. Just moved here and hope to find a place with both great food and great service. read more

had a quick beer here after playing golf in Dupont, WA - The Home Course. I always chuckle when I drive thru Washington and see signs for YELM, WA! I love saying YELM. So, what do I have to do, pass thru Yelm on my way home from a work trip. There a few bars - but this just seemed legit, sporty. I pulled into the parking lot, was a bit early, but it's my day off. Man outside burnin' one. He ended up being the owner. Place was decorated Halloween theme! Love it, it's late September. I got the Elysian SpaceDust. This is a hearty IPA. Chatted with owner I was the only customer in there. He was funny, telling some dating woes. Later on he stepped back and the bartender came on shift. They were both nice, friendly, but not too. Been in a few times for a drink. Went in last night and decided to try their food. Just plain AWFUL!!! First off the cook needs to return to "Food handler training" as he never changed his gloves from food prep to cooking to plating and then out on the bar floor to deliver the baskets and then back in and touching food. Disgusting. Now about the food: fries were still cold in the center, greasy and limp. Fried fish was low quality but at least it was hot and crispy. The cheesesteak sandwich was also cold in the center and meat tasted old like cooked earlier or day or 2 ago and reheated. What a disappointment to have such poor product. Being new to the area, my wife and I decided, based on the Yelp reviews, to give this place a try. First impression is "small town local watering hole". Music is classic rock, which is my favorite. There is a dance floor with a stage set up for a DJ. Could easily accommodate live music too. The bar area has a couple pool tables and electronic dart boards. Feels like a place where I'd want to come with my friends for an evening out of drinking and having fun. However today we were here for dinner. Ordered onion rings for an appetizer. They came out quickly and were nice and hot. Served with ranch dipping sauce and were very crunchy, not over battered, and not greasy. We also ordered the Sasquatch Burger to split. It includes 2 one third pound pattys with bacon, cheese, onion, tomato and lettuce. Served with fries. All I can say about the burger is WOW. The meat comes from the local Stewarts Meat butcher, which is recognized as the best in the area and very fresh. The fries were hand-cut and yummy. I'll definitely be back to try other menu items. If you like burgers, sandwiches or salads, then you'll be happy with the menu. While here we found out that Thursday night is open mike night and over the this weekend there will be bands from Nashville. Definitely a music vibe here. Looking forward to coming back. read more

I visited Doggers because there was a lot of chatter about the place on a local Yelm Facebook page. So, as a "Yelper" I decided I ought to head over and check it out for myself. If you are looking for a pretty restaurant this isn't your place. BUT keep reading because this is more than just an ugly restaurant. So, you can tell as soon as you walk in that the place is drab and way outdated (1960-1970?? decor) but some of the decor is interesting to say the least. Rock and roll meets Sasquatch meets aliens.... weird. It smells like an old dive bar...even on the restaurant side and to be honest, everything about it screamed, "you should leave!" BUT the food was surprisingly really good! Each of us at our table ordered something different and everyone enjoyed their meal. The men folk devoured their burgers - which were huge by the way. My husband ordered the Jack Black - it was this crazy big burger with chicken strips on it. My adult son ordered the Elvis burger, which has bacon, peanut butter, and grape jam-weird, right?!? - but he inhaled it and said it was one of the best burgers he's ever had. I had the fish and chips and I was satisfied with them. The tartar was super dilly, which I loved. The fries are obviously fresh cut and were addicting. While I wish the place felt more like a restaurant than an old outdated bar, I was happy that the food was good. Don't go for the ambiance - go for the food! read more

I went in here looking for a new place to try out. I entered the restaurant on side because I did not pay much attention to the doors . I was greeted by a voice from behind the counter I was making my way around to the pub side , which is cool with me since now days you don't really get a greeting if there is no one standing up front. I found me a seat close to the bar but not right at the bar. I positioned myself facing the tv for the game which is on and the Ms seem to be winning. The voice from behind the bar counter by now was on his way to my table I turned and said hello and the guy introduced himself , which turned out to be the owner. Hands off menu and a waters. Asks if l would like a drink, I get one of the house beers.When he gets back I ask about one of his burgers that has peanut butter and jelly on it. He tells me that he eats those every so often and that it is really good. But it also has bacon on it so ... not at this time. I end up getting the Bigfoot burger and fries. The food came cooked to my order and I ended up eating the 2 1/2 pound burger and fries. The food was great. Throughout the meal the owner was working on the stage in the pub area , played and sang two songs as he was adjusting the sound system. Will weather another return. read more

Well, after reading a very scathing review of Dogger's and then reading several reviews to the contrary of satisfied customers, I decided to give Doggers a try. I was on my way home from work Thursday afternoon, tired, hungry and wanted something other than our usual haunts, so I called my wife and a friend of ours to meet me for an early dinner. I suggested we try Doggers. We were not disappointed. When I arrived, before the ladies, I was greeted by Dogger himself, a friendly fellow who I could tell by his friendly demeanor would go out of his way to make you feel welcome and satisfied with your meal. I ordered a coke and decided to try the onion rings. I love onion rings, but am very critical; onion rings done right are a beautiful thing. Done wrong and they're terrible. Another fellow (sorry, I didn't catch his name, but every bit as friendly as Dogger) brought them out and they were fantastic. They weren't overly breaded like a lot of places; just right. I like ketchup with my onion rings, and was brought a little plastic container of ketchup. The container was a little too small to dip the rings; I'd suggest bottles of ketchup if I may. Far more convenient, but I'd very highly recommend the onion rings. The ladies arrived and our friend Gail and I ordered the "Bigfoot Burger" with fries, and my wife ordered the "Fisherman's Burger". Though the food arrived in a reasonable amount of time, our server never let our drinks get below half full. The burgers were juicy, quite large and very filling. Cooked just right, fresh lettuce and tomato and good bacon, not that flimsy paper type stuff with the funky taste like you get at a lot of restaurants. Excellent taste. The fries were a little soft. Decent flavor, but not very crispy. Certainly not a deal breaker though. My wife says her fish sandwich, cod, had excellent flavor and was a little larger than I expected. We were all three pleasantly surprised and impressed with the food and the service. The decor is a little spartan, but the place is still fairly new and as I waited for the ladies to arrive I heard Dogger and another gentleman going over plans for ongoing improvements they were in the middle of for the place. It was clean though and comfortable and not overdone pop culture museums like a lot of grills are. Clean, comfortable, welcoming environment with great food. I'd highly recommend Doggers to anyone on the fence about it or someone looking to try something new. I live in Roy and work in Tumwater and work long hours from 2am to around 2 pm, so it's a convenient stop to enjoy a great dinner. We will definitely become regulars and wish Dogger many many years of success as he establishes Doggers as a staple of the Local community. read more

After hearing my husband rave about how great he thought this place was, I got to finally eat with him here before he left to go out of town for work for a few months. I got the simplest burger and it was excellent. But, they had other burgers on the menu that reminded me of burgers on a menu of a place I absolutely love and miss from back home in Ga, The Vortex. Excited to try out the different menu options. There is a wall there covered in gorgeous pencil art, it's so beautiful. There was live music going on the night I was there, that was cool. There's always something going on from what I was told while there, either live music, karaoke, open mic, something. There is alcohol but I don't drink so I can't speak to that part, you can judge that aspect for yourself. The staff was friendly and great. I will be going back. read more

This rock n roll themed restaurant/ music venue is a nice change of pace. Local musicians frequent the stage and you'll get a wide variety of styles. Don't let the appearance of this place fool you. Once inside you'll see its a work in progress. The staff were friendly and attentive. Which was impressive with a full house. The menu selection is two pages, exactly how it should be. Not overly complicated with a good selection of things to fit most everyone's tastes. The food was well cooked and Very good sized proportions,(if you order the nachos I hope you have a friend with you!). The bathrooms need a update, so ladies, if its a full house there's going to be a line. They were however, clean and stocked,(I'm told there was two sets but didn't look). We visited your restaurant this weekend. I know you all are new and just getting your start. I wish you all the best in your restaurant/bar adventure. I must say though, there are some areas you definitely will need to improve on in order to continue though. We go to a lot of restaurants and enjoy eating out. I'm sorry to say, we probably won't be back. This is unusual, as when we find a spot we love to go to, we will come back time and time again. So, first off, the tables, are not kept up. Chairs were scattered around, and generally messy appearing. The tables didn't have necessary things available, such as napkin holders on each table, salt/pepper shakers, and the tables that had a napkin holder were empty. We were not given any silverware when we sat, or ensured we had silverware for when our food came out and we had to ask for it. We ordered an appetizer, but were not given plates to eat with it and food was falling apart while eating it, and it only had the table to go to. The waitress wasn't the most friendliest of people. Your menu stated "ask about the heat rating" for your Dogger Burger. When we asked, as we like things really hot, the waitress was like, "Do you like jalapenos and chipotle? That's what you get, there isn't a way to make it more hot." And that was it. Why put it on your menu to ask about a rating for heat if there isn't one? We ordered your full plate of nachos. While it was by far the largest plate of nachos I've ever seen or been served, there was virtually no way I could eat it. It was heaped onto a platter plate that literally felt like one of those wooden block games where you try to remove a block without the whole stack falling? It of course was falling all over the edge of the plate onto the table with each chip that was taken. Also, the menu stated it has 'shredded beef' but what we had was like burnt crumbles of over cooked beef. The cheese was like what you would get at the movie theater. It came with massive bowels of sour cream and salsa that were just simply way too much and such a waste. I'm glad that it came on a paper plate because there was not way I could have boxed it up so we requested aluminum foil to cover it for the ride home. More food doesn't make up for the quality of the food. I barely ate any of it and luckily my son was able to eat left overs of what I couldn't stomach. Hubby's fries were limp and his burger was soggy. I think if you want your restaurant to really flourish, you have to take into account the details. There were better restaurants in town that were far superior that have had to shutter their doors and they had really good food, selection, and atmosphere too. Your prices are way too high too. No offence, but we could of gotten a better burger/fries for half as much at McDonalds. I just wanted you to be aware so that you can fix your system so you guys can succeed. I have read many mixed reviews in a local social media group so I decided to try for myself. A few friends and I went there for lunch. Upon arriving I immediately noticed the place was dark and drab. Needed the restroom and was surprised to find that for a bar and grill there was only one restroom. Tp was on a stool and here was no liner in the waste can. Weird. Friendly man arrived at the table and gave us menus. We all ordered waters until we could decide on something else. I asked about liquor and was told only beer and wine. I asked what kind of wine and was told white and red.??? Sounds great??? Water arrived without ice at room temp. Was told ice was on the way??? 3 of us ordered burgers and were happy to find that they offered a burger bowl. (Gluten free/low carb option). One of us ordered fish and chips. Eventually several men entered the building with bags of ice!!! Ice finally delivered. Waited about 35 minutes for our food??? We were the only ones there except 2 people sitting at the bar drinking at noon. Food arrives. My food was set down first and I immediately noticed that there were condiments ( mayo/ketchup) all over my meat patty over lettuce. Ughhh. No where on the menu did it say burgers come with ketchup/mayo. I expressed my dislike and it went unnoticed by the wait staff. Thank goodness I also got a salad. The rest of my party proceeded to dig in. Fish and chips were said to be good, burger with Shredded cabbage was actually chopped cabbage. Hard to scoop up. I never tasted the meat because ugh noooo way and I ever gonna eat ketchup. I had it boxed up for my dog. The other burgers were reported to have been cooked unseasoned. Sat for way too long for the bill. All on one. Thanks goodness we all had cash. Owner came over and introduced himself and asked how everything was. He was friendly. I mentioned the condiments on my burger and he immediately offered to make me a new one. Well I'm on my way out the door so I declined but mentioned it should be made known what the burgers are topped with. I don't think any of the 4 of us will be back.
