Had to give a five star after reading the one star from Katereka H. The staff did a great job considering the difficult people they have to deal with. Sitting near the hostess stand you can't help but notice when there is there is commotion from grumpy people. So I guess a group of ladies (well mostly ladies) wanted to walk up to sports bar on a playoff Sunday with a group of 15 and be seated right away with priority service??? Not sure if it's because they were a group of 15 or because it was someone's birthday or because they were African American???. But wow in her review Katereka mentioned race card.....really!!! So you thought you'd get a table quicker by making a teenage girl feel like she was being racist??? Katereka if you really work in HR, you should be fired for your behavior of falsely accusing people of being racists because of your poor birthday planning!!! Great job to the quarterdeck staff for their hard work even when they have to deal with ridiculous people. read more

After having stopped going to this location of the Quarterdeck chain for about a year, SWMBO and I returned for lunch with a friend. My wife teaches less than a mile from here and we used to live across the golf course from here as well. We ate here at least weekly for years. Bad service, mediocre food and, frankly, a kind of dirty atmosphere had soured us. I noticed on the way in that management had not changed, but I hoped maybe enough staff had.Overall, the visit was a success. Upon walking in, there was not that stale beer-urine smell that had become noticeable before. Also, the place looked a little shinier. The waiter was attentive and not too "hover-y". I ordered the fish tacos, as I usually do. They have a good version here. Not great, but also not disappointing. They had new menus since last time and now the tacos are listed as made with mahi. That was great. They used to make them with Tilapia and I would always see if I could pay the 2 bucks extra for mahi. The Tilapia ones were always $9.99 and these mahi ones were menued at $11.99. even up on the price, but now I don't have to ask. They have always given the option of grilled, blackened or fried with the fish and I rotate around depending on mood. I got the fried today. The plate is three 6" soft flour tacos with rice and beans. They give you a dollop each of sour cream and guacamole and a tablespoon of fresh salsa on a small bed of shredded lettuce with these. If you've seen my reviews of other fish tacos, you know my stance on lettuce instead of cabbage. No Bueno. I was also not in the mood for rice today and it came to me in a flash. Order cole slaw instead. You see, I had some tacos at Southport Raw Bar a while back that had cole slaw on them instead of just shredded cabbage. although I was a little wary, they turned out dynamite. You can check that review if you like. Anyway, the cole slaw made these a little better than they normally are. i could have used a spicy component to offset the sweetness of the slaw, but I'll try that addition next time. The place is looking up. Hopefully it wasn't an aberration. I wouldn't mind going back a little more often again. read more

I have been to Quarterdeck a couple of times. Each time me or one of my friends order a burger, they get the order wrong...among many many other things. Once my friend ordered a well done burger, it came out medium rare. Another time, my boyfriend ordered a burger with pepper jack cheese and they have him cheddar. When he told he waitress she just scrapped the cheese off and added the pepper jack cheese! If I was the chef I'd just make a new burger! Also, another time I ordered a tuna fish sandwich to go, and when I went home I found hair in it. And then multiple times they messed up my tater tot order by making them soggy when I requested them extra crispy. Plus, the service is slow. Whenever my friends suggest this place I always tell them we should go somewhere else because the food and service are lacking! I haven't been back in a while. I hope you find a better experience then me. read more

Terrible place. Got there after lunch time and it was fairly empty. We were seated right away and we patiently waited for the waitress to take our drinks and apps order. 15 min in No one stopped by so I went to check with hostess but she was not at the entrance. Finally after 20 min waiting we stepped out. As we stood up to leave a waitress conveniently decided to stop by and offer her service. Too late. I let her know we had been waiting for 20 min, restaurant is empty. Unacceptable lack of urgency and customer service. Never coming here again. read more

We have held our Christmas party on 12/16 at the Quarterdeck on University Drive in Davie for several years and have always had a great party. The manager that we always worked with in the past could not have been more wonderful for each experience. He has since moved on and I wish him luck because he was terrific. The restaurant got a new look and a new manager, Dean Baker. We were a little hesitant not having our old manager that we worked so well with, but Dean worked above the call of duty to make sure everything went smoothly. He helped make the food choices to make sure everyone's needs were met. The food selections were delicious and warm, the service was prompt and pleasant, and the atmosphere was perfect for the need. Dean monitored the event and helped the party flow without a hitch. Everyone that attended the social gathering had a wonderful time and are still talking about it two months later. So, special thanks to Dean for going out of his way to make sure a bunch of tired and stressed school staff had a relaxing and happy night--they had a great time eating yummy food and socializing! read more

I was really pleased with the Jupiter location so we thought we'd give this one a try. We probably won't go back to this one. We arrived at 4:00 and were hungry. We sat outside with the dog. We are thrilled to have a place we can go where we can bring the dog. My husband had to go in after 20 minutes and let someone know we were there, which can happen. But it went downhill from there. The waitress came out in about 5 minutes and took our drink order. She returned after another 10-15 minutes and apologized for taking so long. She took our food order and we sat there another 20 minutes before she brought out everything we ordered which consisted of a salad, and a full order of ribs. We would have appreciated the salad while waiting for the entree. We had said we would be sharing everything, but she did not bring additional dishes. Add to this that the ribs were burned to a crisp and dried out. The manager did try to rectify the situation, but perhaps we should have ordered burgers instead. The replacement ribs were dry although not burnt. The potato was fine. We did not eat the ribs and the manager looked frustrated. He was out two racks of ribs and we really did not have much to eat that day. read more

Ordered the BBQ chicken and mac n cheese. It was the driest chicken I've ever seen or took a bite of...I sent it back....by the time the new chicken arrived my family was done with their meals. Recently moved to Cooper City and hadn't been to quarterdeck in probably 10 years. Went with the family, wife and 2 kids. Sushi was really good. Had the red dragon roll and kamikaze roll. Both legit sushi rolls. Little on the pricey side compared to traditional sushi places but no issue there. Would have given 4 starts except for a few things. For a seafood based concept you would think they would have fish on the kids menu. We got the burger which is 2 crappy sliders. Reminded me of a White Castle burger. Make a real hamburger just smaller for the kids. We also got the wings for our other child and they were good. Had a couple craft beers but not really cold. Think they need to check the temp on the keg fridge. Other than that we were still happy overall and will return. Wednesday is kids eat free so that is nice. read more

The menu change is a fail! I went for the cheese steak but was directed to the prime rib sandwich on Texas toast for + $2. It was a over seasoned, small piece of steak on a hot dog bun with 2 onion rings on top. It sucked! Prices for other items were way beyond what they should be for this caliber of food. I wouldn't recommend this Quarterdeck to anyone and will never return. BTW, no pitchers or buckets. Beer is 3 domestic and 4 imported for drafts. Just left quarterdeck Davie and received the best service. Our bartender was Susie Q. She was attentive and caring. Could tell she put work into her craft. She made various mix drinks to exact specification. I am a picky customer that is not easily satisfied and I can say it was the best experience I have ever had at a restaurant. I have never felt so cared about by staff. If a drink was getting low I was being taking care before I noticed. I look forward to my next trip to quarterdeck Davie and the service that Susie Q provided. In the end Susie Q was an Allstar bartender and should be commended for her abilities. This place is retarded! I order cheese burger "well done" and they made me medium! I ask for tomato, lettuce, and onion like any other cheese burger in the world, and they gave me cooked onion with no tomato, then they made me wait over 10 minutes to get tomatoes cramped in a little container!. We went on a quest to have some great cuisine while on a trip to South Beach. Received a recommendation for this restaurant. The crowd was great. The ambiance was fun and they had music playing. I ordered the Pasta Jambalaya. It arrived with some hot rolls and it was great. The portions were huge. The service was great and the price point was pretty good. This place would've gotten two stars if it wasn't for the manager's swift response and EXCELLENT customer service skills. I didn't get his name but I wish I did because he COMPLETELY TURNED AROUND the situation. I literally thought to myself, "I'm never coming here again" before I spoke with him. A+++ When placing our drink orders The waitress looked at me amusingly when I asked for a virgin margarita. Strike one. The main courses hit the table, and she almost took off without offering me steak sauce. I had to ask for it. My steak was over cooked and she did not stop by our table once in OVER forty minutes to check on us. (It was fight night so everyone in the restaurant was staying put. I only saw one table turn over in her section so her excuse of being "very busy" just didn't make sense) Strike two. She didn't offer me a refill on my drink, she never came by to collect the plates until after those 40minutes I spoke of, and she didn't offer dessert. When I took her aside and mentioned how horrible her service was she didn't even offer an apology. Just an incredulous look and the excuse of she was "busy". Busy doing side work? Busy handling other tables that would've left larger tips? So busy that she couldn't even touch base in over 40min?? Im a server myself and have worked under similar circumstances on SUPERBOWL SUNDAY and other major events. Her excuse was just unacceptable. Unfortunately, my family and I had a very bad experience at Quarterdeck. The food besides the drinks were horrible. We initially ordered crab cakes for appetizers. They were so salty; it tasted as if a bottle of salt was thrown in the batter. When we finally received our meals, it too was salty. My husband and I ordered two separate meals and both of our meals were unbearable to eat. Both of our meals were salty. At least my father's order of ribs were edible. We never mentioned anything to the staff since we complained about the crab cakes. I know the waitress realized we weren't pleased with the food because our plates were barely touched. I usually go to the Dania Bch location which is awesome. This Davie location is nothing like it. I was by myself so I sat at the bar. It took 15 minutes before any bartender even greeted me because they were socializing with a small crowd of regulars it seemed. As I was finally giving my order, one of the regulars interrupted to ask for a drink. The bartender stopped taking my order to pour his beer and returned to me. I was about to just leave but I was hungry and wanted to give another chance to the bartender. My order came out wrong, my bartender never came to check on me. The sevice sucks! Nothing like other Quarterdecks I have been to. College/red neck bar atmosphere. Bartenders care only about socializing with the regulars. Food was so so. Won't ever go back. I will drive out of my way starving to reach the Dania Bch location before going back to this location. read more
