Guess what! I just found out Village Tavern has Happy hour every day 4-6:30 for wine (and they have Riesling!) and top shelf cocktails! What?? Yes now: don't crowd the space! I'm meeting my Bookclub tonight at the restaurant side... but I'm def coming back for some of those tasty Happy- bites at the bar: I mean tavern nachos $8? Firecracker shrimp tacos $9? Sounds like something worth trying! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Plus the ambiance is super smooth and classy, service is prompt and great: I think this is an allaround win![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] See you there! Enjoy! UPDATED WITH: we ate over on the restaurant side and I have added some pictures of what was ordered. Everything looked delicious and the wine happy hour prices are valid all night long at the restaurant!! Go enjoy

Shrimp Scampi

Stopped in on a Tuesday night for dinner around 7:30 pm. There was a 20 minute wait and we got sat about 25 minutes later. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We were sat at a large booth.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We ordered a sangria and shrimp scampi and the butcher steak. The sangria was a bit too sweet, and the scampi could have used a little more salt and seasoning. The steak was yummy as were the mashed potatoes. The food did take a very long time to come out, as did the drink, which seems to be a pattern for this location.

It takes a Village to bring all the co-workers to Happy Hour but we succeeded and made it to the Village Tavern. Great choice! We had a large group and the staff was acommodating got us a table in a separate private area and promptly took our drink orders. Drinks were great from Margaritas to Dirty Martini and Aperol Spritz we started the Happy Hour with a bang while waiting for our appetizers. In no time, our appetizers arrived almost all at once which was great as we were all hungry. The bacon wrapped scallops were my favorite really tasty but the mussels and spring rolls were just as good too. The crab dip was ok. The artichoke spinach dip could use a bit less spinach and more artichokes. I left just when everyone else was about to order entrees. I'll have to come back to try dinner next time. Was my first time at The Village Tavern and overall was a nice experience. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Restaurant has an elegant but casual vibe. Dimmed lights inside and very spacious. Outside seating area if you prefer outdoors.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Staff was attentive and quick to bring our food and drinks.

Delicious seasonal, egg nog candy cane martini served around holiday time.

Mostly like this place. Went specifically for their ooey, gooey French onion soup! One of the best around! Have also come just for their creamy, dreamy New England clam chowder. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Atmosphere always pleasant.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Servers are great...and this place gets busy! But, I have to say the whole dining experience would be so much more enjoyable if diners were not almost forgotten after meal is served and have to actively work on getting some attention to order dessert (Killer warm vanilla butter cake enough for 3 people) or request the bill! I know they are busy! But, please, know this detracts from the total experience. I sometimes hesitate to come here for this reason....but I do come back! And, sorry, we jumped into the cake before I could get a pic!

Ten Spice Glazed Salmon
Melanie M.

Went here for a big family dinner and it was nice. Ordered the Ten spice glazed Salmon with mash and asparagus. I could say it was ok, i feel like the mash could've been made a little thicker and with more flavor. Our waitress was great but felt like it was a lot for her since we were about 20 people putting in orders. When it came to the bill it was a bit of a hassle separating orders by groups since only 4 cards were being accepted. Overall it wasn't bad and if i return would try a different menu item.

Decent Yelp reviews. Opposite experience. Greasy food and terrible cocktails. Nothing here was good.

Great spot for Happy Hour! [[HIGHLIGHT]]The bar is always packed.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Food is great and so is the service.

Lemon drop shot

I have never been to Village tavern for happy hour before and I am so shocked I haven't because it blew away my expectations! They have fantastic specials to include wines, and a ton of shelf alcohols on special. They also have a very spacious and inviting bar. It's dimly lit which is nice for a change and feels more welcoming. They also have a fantastic spread of food to order on HH as well!! To start off I got a bacardi and coke! Fantastic choice it was a nice level of intensity and a great deal. We then ordered lemon drop shots which came out very well too. For food I ordered the cheesesteak springrolls. Wow were they good!! They came sliced in half and they had a special sauce to dip them in. They were crispy and crunchy and tasted super fresh. I would order these every time I go! The nachos are also delicious and come with a large portion great for sharing as well. They have so many other foods I definitely want to try something different next time, but I loved what I ordered so it will be hard to switch. Can't wait to come back again soon! Really great experience and Happy Hour I cannot recommend enough!

Every time... Great Martinis... Great pinot noirs.... Great mussels ... Great ambience... I recommend it.

Calamari

the spring rolls were so good! They serve it with a salad and whatever they put on the salad was so good we ordered another one. The calamari and homemade chips were also very good. I also recommend the brick chicken

I went yesterday with my family for my mothers birthday and I informed the host stand that it was her birthday. Firstly the service was subpar for the scale of the restaurant. He was kind but barely knew about the menu. [[HIGHLIGHT]]There was flies hovering over the table and I had to inform the waiter, I'm not sure if the manager was informed but it was disgusting.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Nobody sung happy birthday or did anything for my mother for her birthday. Nobody came to check up on the table until the end until everyone else at the table was finished. And when my mother did not like the food, there were no measures being taken to mend the inconvenience until I stated something. It was highly upsetting. Then after all that the waiter chased us outside for a check to sign when the check that was signed was on the table. As this being my first experience, it definitely could be better. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Ambiance was nice though.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Butcher's Steak, sweet potato fries, and the shrimp scampi
Tom C.

Always have a good experience every time I come here. Service was on point but not intrusive, and the place itself is very nice/cozy inside. Food here is always good, I opted for a Butcher's steak and shawty got the shrimp scampi. Both were awesome and they gave me a perfect medium rare on the steak. Definitely recommend, but it is a bit pricey if you get appetizers and drinks.

This is my second time here in years. Not sure what took me so long to come back but tonight I remembered not to take so long to come back. I made a reservation for a Saturday night during the week. Once I arrived and gave them my name I was seated immediately. The hostess was super polite and thanked us for dining with them. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It was dim lighting throughout the entire restaurant.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Larry our waiter greeted us and took our drink order right away. We started with appetizers and we ordered bacon wrapped scallops, which were amazing. My husband isn't a seafood lover, but he tried it, and he was very impressed and the glaze on the scallops is a great touch and the bacon was nice and crispy. For our entrée, I got the Cajun jambalaya pasta and my husband ordered the bacon jam burger both were absolutely delicious. 10 out of 10 would definitely get again. We ended the night with dessert. We shared the warm butter poundcake. It came with a raspberry syrup and strawberries and blueberries. I don't know how they made that cake so delicious but it was a great ending to a great night. Our waiter Larry was the best. If you're dying again I would definitely ask for him. He was a pleasure and he has a great sense of humor.

Brunch also on Saturday? Just found out only on Sunday.. not happy

Only on Sunday. We were upset the Saturday we went and they were closed.

Can men wear shorts?

Yep

Does the restaurant have a private room for events?

I have been there several times with a group (10+). There is not a separate room but they will use the area behind the hostess station or the area at the far right (facing the hostess station) against the windows. It's worked for my groups. Good…

Is it dog friendly?

Yes they are welcome on the patio. I have a certified service dog, so I am allowed to bring him inside the restaurant. However, he is incredibly well behaved and trained so as to be nearly invisible. Our server didn't know we had a 105 pound…

Opened Thanksgiving Day?

Sorry, they will be closed on Thanksgiving Day.

At what time is the happy hour on Monday?

Happy Hour is Monday thru Friday 4-7 pm...

Do they have live music?

No live music.

The restaurant has an elegant yet comfortable atmosphere that makes it perfect for a special occasion, date night, or simply enjoying a great meal with family and friends. Our server, Lisa, was wonderful throughout the evening. She was friendly, attentive, knowledgeable about the menu, and always checked in to make sure we had everything we needed. Her professionalism and positive attitude truly enhanced our dining experience. The food was once again delicious, and the quality of the dishes was evident. However, there were a couple of minor issues during our visit. It was a very busy evening, so I understand that the staff was working hard to accommodate a full restaurant. We did wait a little over an hour for our appetizers, and when they finally arrived, our entrées were brought out only a couple of minutes later. Additionally, I have a mushroom allergy, and some mushrooms were accidentally mixed in with the grilled onions on top of my steak. What impressed me most was how quickly and professionally the situation was handled. As soon as management became aware of the cross-contamination issue, they immediately stepped in, took it seriously, and worked quickly to correct it. Their response demonstrated a genuine commitment to guest safety and satisfaction, which I greatly appreciated. While no restaurant is perfect, great service is often measured by how challenges are handled, and Wolf Steakhouse's management team did an excellent job making things right. Between the beautiful atmosphere, attentive service from Lisa, delicious food, and management's dedication to customer care, I will absolutely be returning. I'm already looking forward to my next visit so I can finally try the tomahawk steak!

From the looks of what would be the bar, I assume there is no liquor license. Many bottles of wine and limited beer options and no liquor bottles. The waiter said the owner doesn't serve cocktails tonight. ‍‍ The ice machine was broken. For the prices on menu items, there's no way that's acceptable. They could have brought in bags of ice, and we would have never known. We had no ice to go with our water and coke, and the beer was barely cool. Finally, we see bags of ice brought in and wasn't offered any. ‍‍ Tomahawk steak medium well was good, but I needed a little more seasoning. Mash potatoes tasted like freshly smashed potatoes and needed a little salt and butter, and the oyster mushrooms were a bit chewy with a charred taste. 3 Lamb chops were serves medium rare so it was requested to be well done then it was good, the spinach was bitter with no flavor and the rice tasted old as it was leftovers from previous day or days. Rice didn't taste freshly cooked at all. Bone in Ribeye medium rare was good with a Cesar salad that tasted strange. The Cesar dressing tasted like a blue cheese mixed with ranch and a vinegar. I don't know it just wasn't a good Ceasars dressing, and it was iceberg lettuce, not romaine. Overall, they prepared good steaks and good lamb chops, but they need to step it up on the sides. For the price of steak, they need to give a better portion and more than 3 lamb chops. For the quality of food it's an overpriced restaurant. Though the digital menu is up with technology, it's not truly functional. It's not user-friendly for older persons, and it had a glitch. They should consider a QR code. Overall, the ambiance is nice. The food was ok but overpriced. Stop in to support a small business. 1 issue I did have, the waiter didn't help us while ordering. My dad ordered rice with his lamb chops, not knowing that it came with rice, and the waiter said nothing. I was bothered, but 2 sides come with the steaks.
