The shopping plaza that houses this restaurant is a very busy one. There is plenty of parking, but you may not be able to find a spot close to the eatery. The place has counter seating (with a bar?) and was a bit busy and bustling. There were 15 of us here on a week night for a special birthday dinner. We were given one main server who took all our orders: drinks, appetizers, and entrees. She had very little help and did most of it on her own. It was too much for one person; so, service was a bit slow. We found ourselves eating lots of bread just because we were hungry and needed our food. The first set of rolls that came out were hard as a rock. The second set was softer and more satisfying. We had appetizers that included steamed mussels and egg rolls. Both were good. The main dishes were all over the place with satisfaction levels. Notably, three orders of fish and chips were declared absolutely tasteless. The fish had a heavy breading and no flavor. A chicken dinner was palatable. The Cajun seafood fettuccine was good, so was the shrimp and mahi mahi scampi. Stopped in on a Tuesday night for dinner around 7:30 pm. There was a 20 minute wait and we got sat about 25 minutes later. We were sat at a large booth. We ordered a sangria and shrimp scampi and the butcher steak. The sangria was a bit too sweet, and the scampi could have used a little more salt and seasoning. Food was meh for all five people at our table. Drinks came after the food. We had a large group and the staff was acommodating got us a table in a separate private area and promptly took our drink orders. Drinks were great from Margaritas to Dirty Martini and Aperol Spritz we started the Happy Hour with a bang while waiting for our appetizers. In no time, our appetizers arrived almost all at once which was great as we were all hungry. The bacon wrapped scallops were my favorite really tasty but the mussels and spring rolls were just as good too. The crab dip was ok. The artichoke spinach dip could use a bit less spinach and more artichokes. I left just when everyone else was about to order entrees. I'll have to come back to try dinner next time. But, I have to say the whole dining experience would be so much more enjoyable if diners were not almost forgotten after meal is served and have to actively work on getting some attention to order dessert (Killer warm vanilla butter cake enough for 3 people) or request the bill! Went here for a big family dinner and it was nice. Ordered the Ten spice glazed Salmon with mash and asparagus. I could say it was ok, i feel like the mash could've been made a little thicker and with more flavor. Our waitress was great but felt like it was a lot for her since we were about 20 people putting in orders. I have never been to Village tavern for happy hour before and I am so shocked I haven't because it blew away my expectations! They have fantastic specials to include wines, and a ton of shelf alcohols on special. They also have a very spacious and inviting bar. It's dimly lit which is nice for a change and feels more welcoming. They also have a fantastic spread of food to order on HH as well!! To start off I got a bacardi and coke! Fantastic choice it was a nice level of intensity and a great deal. We then ordered lemon drop shots which came out very well too. For food I ordered the cheesesteak springrolls. Wow were they good!! They came sliced in half and they had a special sauce to dip them in. They were crispy and crunchy and tasted super fresh. I would order these every time I go! The nachos are also delicious and come with a large portion great for sharing as well. They have so many other foods I definitely want to try something different next time, but I loved what I ordered so it will be hard to switch. Can't wait to come back again soon! I went yesterday with my family for my mothers birthday and I informed the host stand that it was her birthday. Firstly the service was subpar for the scale of the restaurant. He was kind but barely knew about the menu. There was flies hovering over the table and I had to inform the waiter, I'm not sure if the manager was informed but it was disgusting. Nobody sung happy birthday or did anything for my mother for her birthday. Nobody came to check up on the table until the end until everyone else at the table was finished. And when my mother did not like the food, there were no measures being taken to mend the inconvenience until I stated something. It was highly upsetting. This is my second time here in years. Not sure what took me so long to come back but tonight I remembered not to take so long to come back. I made a reservation for a Saturday night during the week. Once I arrived and gave them my name I was seated immediately. The hostess was super polite and thanked us for dining with them. It was dim lighting throughout the entire restaurant. Larry our waiter greeted us and took our drink order right away. We started with appetizers and we ordered bacon wrapped scallops, which were amazing. My husband isn't a seafood lover, but he tried it, and he was very impressed and the glaze on the scallops is a great touch and the bacon was nice and crispy. For our entrée, I got the Cajun jambalaya pasta and my husband ordered the bacon jam burger both were absolutely delicious. 10 out of 10 would definitely get again. We ended the night with dessert. We shared the warm butter poundcake. It came with a raspberry syrup and strawberries and blueberries. I don't know how they made that cake so delicious but it was a great ending to a great night. My fav is fish and chips and their salad selections. It does get packed on. Weekends and recently I have opted for take out. Be prepared to pay around $25 per entree. I've been here a handful of times over the years as Pembroke Gardens is one of the main spots I'll visit since I live so close but came here recently to celebrate my baby bestie's baptism. Located in Pembroke Gardens just off I-75 and Pines Blvd, Village Tavern is a stand alone restaurant closer to the entrance off of Pines. The menu is vast and many options sound too good to decide easily. After a few minutes, our server came by to let us know she had a couple things to finish up and then she would come by. She was helpful with suggestions on the menus and after much deliberation we ordered a couple apps and our meals. The appetizers came out timely and the KFC cauliflower was quite delish. Our main meals came out mostly all at once a fair amount of time after. However a couple dishes were missing things and we advised the staff whom brought out the food. Unfortunately, they did not bring out the items nor did they rely any of this to our server. Also unfortunately, our server was not coming by to check on our table. The short ribs were a little dry and missing their green beans (which were eventually brought out cold after we said something). The chicken parmigiana was cooked well but the pasta could use extra sauce (which we had asked for from the beginning but they didn't bring till we said something again and everyone was done eating). The grouper Hemingway was a bit strange as the outside of the fish was a bit dry/leathery but the inside was cooked well. The pasta that came with it has a very delicate sauce so if you like a more forward flavor on your pasta, this might not be the move. I liked it but others at the table thought it needed more punch. The chicken and penne was well cooked but a very pesto forward flavor so take that into consideration. The cajun seafood linguini and the shrimp and grits were by far our table favorites. Our server apologized for the delays and missteps with the meal and offered to get us a dessert for our party of 6, she ended up doing 2. The warm butter cake is definitely one of the better ones I've had, it was rich yet light. I didn't try the chocolate torte but heard it was very tasty if you like a flourless type cake. Went to The Village Tavern with a 5 PM reservation on Saturday 1/4/25. They sat us right away and we were greeted by our waiter name Jack. There were five of us so we ordered multiple dinners and no appetizers. Unfortunately I do not have pictures because we were just so into eating that I forgot to take them. The filet mignon tacos were perfection, the fish and chips were cooked perfectly. My mom had a hamburger that she's never had such a good one in a long time. I highly recommend this restaurant. I came late and the host was able to spot my party in seconds just by telling him how many and what one person was wearing. The male server was attentive and caring. The manager, Nick, came by a couple times and even chatted with us about being from Massachusetts. Turns out, we went to the same high school. The older female server was rough around the edges and scolded me for telling her that my friend's wife's filet mignon was undercooked. Yes, I understand the need to pass the other entrees first, but her tone was snappy. Maybe if she knew that we had just come from a funeral, she would have been nicer.
