Wild mushroom salad

Great comfortable ambiance in Revelstoke. Awesome food and wine list. Great 1/2 chicken and ribs special. Excellent service. By far best meal I had in Revelstoke. Would definitely choose this over any other date spot in Revelstoke.

Like a few other reviewers have mentioned we were not expecting this amazing meal from a restaurant in Revelstoke, a true gem! The space is cozy and warm, and the staff friendly. The menu was excellently curated, local anall in season. The root vegetable ceased salad was phenomenal, and the sturgeon and duck dishes blew us away. We will definitely be back.

Maybe they had an unlucky night during our visit, but our dinner was quite disappointing. The food was cold, almost as if it's been waiting to be served for 10 minutes, which maybe explains why the duck wasn't medium rare as advertised. The presentation looked like it had potential, but lacked refinement. On top of that, the fish course was extremely small for the price (eating the sturgeon literally felt like 3 bites and done). We actually ended up adding 2 desserts to our order, because we felt hungry after finishing our mains. While the space is beautifully decorated and the service is hospitable (even though my cocktail was removed from the table before finished), I'd choose this restaurant for their tasty libations and light apps/lunch instead.

Surprisingly huge portions. Calamari was good, but our least favorite. Empanadas were fantastic. Winter roasted veggie salad was delicious with nice big Parmesan shavings. Interesting cocktails. Great service.

What a great surprise and treat!! Imaginative menu!! Fun to read. The food was wonderful. This restaurant would do well anywhere. Revelstoke is lucky to have such a nice resturant. They are accommodating for special requests.

Ratatouille

Love love love this farm to table dinning concept. Our fave are: farmers ratatouille, beet & smoked yogurt salad and chicken liver mousse. The ratatouille is definitely our fave. The way the chef cooks the vegies and how all the flavours come together shows respect towards the ingredients. We just love the freshness and the flavor balance of this dish. The beets and smoked yogurt is our second fave. We particularly love that the dish incorporate the whole part of the vegie (leaf, stem and fruit) and cooked in multiple mays. The result is a burst of flavor and texture in my mouth. We also tried the BC ling cod. The fish is cooked perfectly but we thought the overal dish is slightly too bitter for our taste. Overal, we will for sure come back to try other dishes on the menu. We also love that they change the menu according to whats in season at that moment.

Sticky Maple Duck and Crispy Calamari

Go here. One of the best dining experiences I've had. Great food! Amazing service and attention to detail. Nice ambiance. We started with the sticky maple duck and calamari (pictured) - both delicious and large portions for an appetizer for two. For entrees, we had the NY strip loin and bone-in tenderloin. The tenderloin was perfectly medium rare. It was A LOT of food. Everything delicious. Leftovers made for excellent aprés snacks the next day.

Excellent restaurant! You wouldn't expect anything like this in a small ski town in the Rockies! Superb food and service. Very nice interior design.

Very modern style with lots of grilled vegetables. Very tasty. The Peruvian chicken is a local favourite. Great service. Lamb striploin was delicious - crucial that this is served hot and they carried it off wonderfully

Cote de Boeuf! It was AMAZING!

We went here almost every night during our stay at The Explorers Society! The food is amazing and I wanted to try it all. I highly recommend the cheese board to start out with. We splurged one night and got the Cote de boeuf - and it was worth every penny - so amazing and a huge hunk of meat! You really can't go wrong with anything on the menu. Great bar with specialty drinks as well!

No worries here. Go with confidence! Large portions of great food. High end on the price side but MORE THAN WORTH IT! You only live once.

Not sure about the restaurant but the hotel rooms cold, tiny, and absolutely crawling with bugs…read more It's disgusting and I don't know how I'm going to sleep tonight. The window ledge is covered in dead bugs and there's spider webs in the corners of the room. The bathtub is dirty and extremely shallow and I was hoping to have a bath tonight after spending 12 hours on the road. They also don't have complimentary shampoo or conditioner; only soap. No fridge so I guess my food is going to go bad overnight. I am extremely disappointed and I wouldn't recommend this dump to anyone. This place is a piss stain.

I was traveling by bus for 2.5 days when our bus got stranded in Revelstoke B.C. for 36 hrs due to…read moreroad closures. The bus depot is at a convenience store which has a motel attached and this restaurant. Many folks slept on the bus the first night but some of us checked into the motel. The motel needs a lot of updates but I was happy to be sleeping in a bed and not upright in a bus seat. Also, the market really needs to be cleared out and restocked. Very random selection of merchandise. The next night a lot more people checked into the motel and some more adventurous kids took the 20 minute walk into the downtown area in the snow to crash at hostels or other hotel options. The bus company paid for four meals from Ol' Frontier for each person so we got pretty acquainted with the restaurant. I like their corned beef hash breakfast. Not a fan of their bacon and the pizza is just okay. The wait staff is great, however, don't come hungry because they are not assigned tables so even if you got there first someone who came in after you could get their order in and food first. I guess I didn't mind too much because I had nowhere to be. The fireplace in the dining area of the restaurant was my hangout spot for most of the 36 hours being stuck in town. Revelstoke is gorgeous. I look forward to returning when I can come and go without worry that the bus will leave me behind. I want to come back and check out the epic mountain and skiing I hear about. Maybe I'll stop by Ol' Frontier for a beer.
