Had a chance to grab a quick dinner here last week. We got there around 7pm on a Monday, and we're able to get a table, but can see that you would probably need a reservation during the weekends or busier seasons. We were seated right away, water was provided, and menus were also provided. We weren't that hungry, so we ordered a main to share, a starter, and a side. Our steak came out perfectly rare. It definitely didn't need the shishito butter. Their homemade ketchup for the fries was delicious though. All the sauces for the Arctic Char Croquettes complimented the fish very well. The Broccolini was also good. Although if you aren't a fan of sour/tartness like we are, you might not enjoy these particular starter and side. Service was very good throughout our dining experience. Our server even had a nice little conversation with us about road tripping across Canada since she had done it a few times herself. It's very stylish and upscale-looking inside, but didn't feel pretentious or uncomfortable at all. Looks like a great spot for cocktails if you're into that. read more

The atmosphere was fine, people around me appeared to be happy with their food and drinks, but this 5 star review is based on their vanilla cheesecake. I'm a cheesecake fan, and I have had some good cheesecakes, including The Cheesecake Factory. This one was perfection. The main cheesecake was super creamy and soft. It was lightly sprinkled with gram crust. This was a great idea, no thick crust ruining the cheesecake to crust ratio. Then they topped it off with fresh blueberries and a blueberry sauce. Upscale boutique steakhouse. Dark and intimate ambiance. Great service. They have a smaller more limited menu which I appreciate. They try to do a few things well. They do not seem to be afraid to take some risks when you look at their menu. There are a few items that seem like they could be polarizing. Really liked the roasted king oyster mushroom appetizer. Some of my friends thought the root vegetable caesar was just ok but I really loved it. It was such a creative take on caesar. The flavors seemed mild at first but they continued to grow as your eat more. The roasted pork belly was pretty good too. We had the lamb shank and the code de beuf. I'm not a big lamb fan but this one was pretty good. Worked well with all the king oyster risotto. If you try anything here you have to try the cote de beuf. It'a for 2 people. Comes with 2 good sized ribeye steaks cooked medium rare over assorted grilled veggies and comes with a chimichurri (they call it something else) and house made reduction. The chocolate & stout cake was good, couldn't really taste the stout though. Just a hint of orange, I don't like too much orange with chocolate. The poached pear was just ok. I think it's one of those things where they risks and some love it and some don't. If you're looking for a nice steakhouse in Revelstoke this is the place. read more

Maybe they had an unlucky night during our visit, but our dinner was quite disappointing. The food was cold, almost as if it's been waiting to be served for 10 minutes, which maybe explains why the duck wasn't medium rare as advertised. The presentation looked like it had potential, but lacked refinement. On top of that, the fish course was extremely small for the price (eating the sturgeon literally felt like 3 bites and done). We actually ended up adding 2 desserts to our order, because we felt hungry after finishing our mains. While the space is beautifully decorated and the service is hospitable (even though my cocktail was removed from the table before finished), I'd choose this restaurant for their tasty libations and light apps/lunch instead. read more

We had a very bad experience here. The gnocchi was soggy and cold. They took it back, then still charged us for it. The mushroom appetizer was small and very spicy. Then I got the sturgeon was over cooked. The bison was cold and they served it with 1/4 of a sweet potato and some kind of curry paste, $52.00. The manager avoided us and never promo anything on our bill even after I said we were celebrating a Birthday. We won't be back!! The server told us. Love love love this farm to table dinning concept. Our fave are: farmers ratatouille, beet & smoked yogurt salad and chicken liver mousse. The ratatouille is definitely our fave. The way the chef cooks the vegies and how all the flavours come together shows respect towards the ingredients. We just love the freshness and the flavor balance of this dish. The beets and smoked yogurt is our second fave. We particularly love that the dish incorporate the whole part of the vegie (leaf, stem and fruit) and cooked in multiple mays. The result is a burst of flavor and texture in my mouth. We also tried the BC ling cod. The fish is cooked perfectly but we thought the overal dish is slightly too bitter for our taste. Overal, we will for sure come back to try other dishes on the menu. We also love that they change the menu according to whats in season at that moment. read more

Dinner for two. Small boutique restaurant and hotel. Lovely! Service excellent. My wife is gluten free and that was no problem here. Started with sharing the scallop and bacon appetizer. Then shared the house salad. Both excellent. Then we shared the 1/2 a chicken dinner which had a cilantro salsa and nice veggies, plus a delicious tangy yoghurt dip. Even splurged with dessert. One was a strawberry rhubarb mousse and the other a smores dish. Both great. Coffee in small french presses. How often is it that you travel and eat at the same restaurant more than once? For me, that happens almost never. I'll maybe visit the same coffee shop more than once, but over the course of a week it's so uncommon that I'll visit the same restaurant for a full sit down meal. During my recent trip to Revelstoke, British Columbia I had such a fantastic meal with my family at Quartermaster Eatery that we returned a few nights later for round two! Over our two visits, I'm pretty sure we tried everything on the menu that appealed to us, which is always a huge win. On both visits, we started with the Artisan Fire Grilled Bread. The bread was thick and doughy and served with a red pepper sauce that we couldn't get enough of. We also ordered the Sticky Maple Duck Wings. They were fall off the bone tender and covered our fingers with the sticky maple glaze. This was a huge hit. We also really loved the Elk Chorizo Salad. There were plenty of greens, fresh veggies, and slices of elk chorizo. Unlike traditional chorizo, this was sliced to resemble jerky and added a nice spicy, salty, smoky flavor to the salad. The first time we visited, my mom and I split two entrees. One of them being the Daily Catch. It was salmon when we visited and it was prepared over roasted veggies. It was cooked to perfection with crispy skin. It was a great salmon. The other dish we shared was the Daily Chef Creation. When I heard the special was Peruvian Chicken, I knew I had to order it. I love Peruvian chicken and this was no exception. The chicken was blackened and served over roasted veggies with the most delicious avocado sauce. I seriously considered ordering this the second time we visited. On our second visit, my brother and I each ordered the Bone-in Tenderloin which was a beautiful cut of meat. Not only was it huge, but it was also served bone in which I always prefer. We both loved every last bite of this dish. My whole family agrees that meals should be finished with dessert, so we ordered the Molten Belgian Chocolate Cake. The cake was so fudgy and moist and then topped with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and crushed pecans. The best way to end a meal. read more

What a great find in a small ski town. We were a rowdy group of 11 guys. A number of us had the huge mixed grill. Some had the NY strip steak with vegetables and fries. All shared the calamari. Everything was amazing especially the service by Sherry. She was totally cool and calm and able to handle the group. We were all talking about Quartermaster the next day. Restaurant is adorable and I think, generally, it has decent ambiance. Unfortunately we were seated (at 18:15h) near a table of already, incredibly inebriated, and extremely LOUD patrons. They disrupted everyone in the area and waitstaff did nothing to encourage their departure. The appetizer we had (salmon carpaccio) wasn't great. It needed more substance and to be balanced with some sort of acidity. The main course (rib eye cap) was spectacular- lovely flavour and cooked exactly right. We also ordered the roasted carrots (yum) and the roasted fingerling potatoes (delicious, but deep fried, NOT roasted). The dessert (deconstructed cheesecake and the peach/lemon) were a mixed bag. The cheesecake was delicious, the peach/lemon was nearly flavourless and the waitstaff didn't even question that it was only partially consumed. We went to Quatermaster Eatery for a date night. The food itself tastes great, but the portions are way too small. I had the short rib and I could have eaten another plate (I am a girl). There was just one short rib and a little ring of mashed potatoes on the plate. I just don't understand why they don't put more mashed potatoes on your plate, it's cheap and it fills you up and I would have probably left satisfied. My partner had the steak and the presentation was just awful. He got the steak with the meat juice on the plate and nothing else, then some soggy fries on the side. For $47 per entree you expect a bit more and it would have been nice to have some veggies on the side (carrots and stuff are cheap). We ordered some cheesecake because we were still hungry. It was just cheesecake filling with blueberry sauce and graham crumbs on top, so not an actually piece of cheesecake. The only thing we were happy with was the cocktail. We were quite disappointed about the whole experience and won't come back. The old school eatery is way better, similar food but cheaper and bigger portions. read more

Impeccably designed (from scratch!), this is a beautiful, sophisticated place. The staff was very attentive, and the food was insane - probably the best meal I've ever had. Not much of a maple person, but I had their bacon (appetizer) for dessert even - it was that incredible. They have a large scotch selection, and Rebekah (the owner) was very knowledgeable. We stayed at a ski in/out at the slopes, but next time we'll be staying at the Explorers Society Hotel in those alluring rooms. The owners (Rebekah and Stephen) walked the room and chatted with each of the patrons, are extremely good listeners, and genuinely care about everyone's well being and work to improve the experience. Eddie, the bartender, was meticulous in his drink creations. All in all, it was a very well run "machine" and it has a family-like vibe - not pretentious at all. We were lucky enough to stay at the The Explorers Society Hotel while visiting Revelstoke, and could not stay away from Quartermaster Eatery. We had dinner here two out of the four nights we were in town, and both meals were so delicious. We enjoyed the salmon which was amazing and the Cote de Boeuf which was some of the best prepared beef I have ever had. The atmosphere is sophisticated and inviting. Super disappointed. I came in from the states and made it a point to have our one night out on the town here. It was super disappointing. The wait was long even though we were one of maybe two tables in the restaurant on a Sunday night. My steak came out almost well done when asked for medium as well as my friends shriveled salmon. There was almost nothing for sides with the entree for a what ended up very pricey meal for VERY little in return. Although they fixed the salmon, there was nothing to be done or offered to better our experience. We left hungry from the one piece of broccolini and couple bites of cauliflower that came with our entree that I ended up eating cold waiting for them to fix the salmon. I would not recommend eating here as the amount of money you're spending on what you'd hope would be a memorable meal was a very poor experience. read more

The food and the team at Quartermaster were Fantastic. From the moment we walked into the hotel lobby we were greeted by a very friendly and professional blonde man. Then the hotstess, the bar keep, and our server were also very friendly and knowledgeable. Last but not least the food was cooked to profection. As far as a sh*t hole BC town goes, absolutely phenomenal. Blew our minds. The pisco sour had too much cucumber. The menu was half bacon half maple - obviously catering to Americans. Regardless, we had some great empanadas, good steak, and even better bernaise. Waitresses had nice accents. In total, doubt there is better food anywhere within a 300km radius.
