This place is so fun. A restaurant needs atmosphere and this place has it. The walls are filled with history. The gentleman that was our waiter gave us just what we needed and treated us kindly. He did not have the fancy service of modern day cafes, but he fit in with the atmosphere. The food was good food and felt like it too came from the era, hardy and wholesome. Enjoyed breakfast - biscuits & gravy, breakfast burrito, lumberjack special and a breakfast sandwich. Food was fairly good. One complaint where the chef refused to make over medium eggs for the breakfast sandwich. Says they only do their eggs over hard - even though the menu says otherwise. I know margins are tight at restaurants but I have a feeling he overcooked it & didn't want it to go to waste. It seemed so weird to come out & say the chef says he only does his eggs over hard. So you have no choice. So one complaint but all else left satisfied. We later went to the Golden location which was awful. So props to this one. read more

Good was great but was completely ruined by the lack of service or any amount of friendliness. The gruff older man serving us never took our drink order. Skipped right to what we wanted. Didn't write it down and didn't get our eggs correct. We asked for coffee halfway through the meal and he dumped a canteen on our table without a word. This was the worst service I've had in a very long time. Ruined the experience of what was actually pretty good food. Too bad. Would not recommend or return for that reason. read more

I've been a few times because I want a full breakfast that isn't pretentious, in a coffee shop that I have to order at the counter, or requires me to show an ACMG membership card at the door to gain entry... this place checks those boxes. The food is a 3/5 however the coffee is horrific watery swill. Never more than one choice of toast, which is too bad. Overall a better choice than Denny's... I think. read more

Cute little place on the main road. Had the Brie and Avocado sandwich, it was delicious. My only complaints, which are pretty minor, would be the man serving us wasn't very friendly and the water for tea wasn't hot. It was barely boiled. We were here for breakfast this morning and thoroughly enjoyed it. The breakfast options were many and it took awhile to decide - frittatas, eggs bennie, mexican, breakfast sandwiches...... I ended up with a veggie bowl and my husband a breakfast sandwich. Both were fantastic (I think mine was better - maybe just because it was bigger). Both had so much flavour and we enjoyed every mouthful. Service was a bit slow but it was busy and we weren't in a rush so not a big deal. If you are looking for lattes, cappucinos or anything like that, this is not the place for you as you can have coffee - just coffee. But if you want to fill up on a decent coffee and really good food, then give the Big Bend a visit. We would recommend. read more

We decided to stop in downtown Revelstoke for a "proper breakfast" away from the Highway fast food choices. We were not disappointed with our bacon and egg breakfast. The bacon was very meaty (rashers), the home fried potatoes were delicious and the multigrain toast was so good. Best breakfast!! We'll be back. read more

Hi there, this little spot has some great decor. Lots of thought went into inventing the cafe feel - very fun. Yet the older man who was behind the bar was unfriendly and gruff. Service was slow and food was not well done. Disappointed as previous reviews illustrated cafe to have some great experiences. Stopped in for breakfast a few days ago. There was one group of four already eating and nobody else. I stood around for a few minutes until someone appeared from behind the counter and told me to sit wherever and she would come take my order. Well, the prices can't be beat here that's for sure! Portion sizes here are outrageously generous, and that's a lot coming from me. For essentially $16 Big Bend Cafe provides you an all-you-can-eat breakfast. The service here is fast, and efficient specially during the time of covid. A nice little place for breakfast. We chose this cafe over Tim's, and we didn't regret it. The food was very good. We received a lot on our plates and left feeling full and happy. The only downside was that they were unwilling to substitute or have something on the side. My son is on the spectrum and this extremely picky and sometimes it's easier to customize his meals. Food was okay and tasted good but there were too many flies around and the place was too hot. Service was okay, but could be better. We had the spicy shrimp grilled cheese which was good but not very spicy and cheese wasnt melted. The bacon was overpowering the sandwich.
