The food is good. Never anybody in there. This is my 4th time eating here and every time I leave, I tell hubs "I do not ever want to come back here". There are just too many hip places to visit these days. I just feel kind of lame every time I come here. Like in the 80s this would have been "hip" The food is ok..... like I could make it at home. I feel like going out to eat is "cheating on a diet" etc. and I don't leave here feeling like it's worth the cheat. So yes it's edible, it's good, service is amazing, the staff are great. Also probably one of the lowest bills I have had in a long time...... The burger was not anything special. The H-Bombs weren't anything special. Ugh..... I hate leaving local businesses not such great reviews but I have never left here thinking "wow that was soooo good"

Food was amazing! Chips and salsa served free of charge to table (authentic chips!). We had the accapollo chicken and #8 enchiladas. Muey Bueno! Rice and beans served with dish and delish!! Restaurant was clean and cute with old Pueblo Mexican flair! Never would have guessed with strip mall location and no outside "look" that it would be so good! And our server Amy was friendly and attentive and food came out quickly! Oh and Margaritas in a jumbo glass... sweet and yummy! A must do for Mexican food craving in Ftn hills!!

Delicious home cooked Mexican food. Stopped in for a late lunch and had great service and awesome food. Shredded beef burrito served piping hot with to crew and beans, combo #7 and a huevos rancheros you must see to believe. Crispy chips served with a great salsa. All the sauces were clearly homemade and had great flavor. My burrito was ordered hot and it had just enough heat without overpowering the flavor of the beef. Will definitely return again.

The food deserves 5 starts. Their waitress deserves 1 star. Being in the area we wanted to try it out since it is a family restaurant. The food was very authentic, chips and salsa were delicious! Friend had the chicken taco salad, and I enjoyed the seafood enchiladas. The place was not very busy, but the waitress had no idea how to do her job. She walked by us so many times I lost count. She never checked out drinks, or asked how the food was (good). When we asked for the check she combined the bill without asking. She managed to serve the tables with men in the group and even chatted them up. We asked her to spilt the bill, she said "In half?". Since it took 10 minutes to get our bill, we agreed even though it wasn't right. If I go again, I will get the food to go~ Sadly, this ruined the meal for us.

We haven't been here in a LONG time. Stopped in for lunch today. The wife had a burger and fries. I hadn't seen anything posted about the fajitas, so I gave them a shot. They were middle of the road. For my taste (a personal thing) I prefer the bell peppers to be soft fried along with the meat, they were warmed through but still firm and crunchy. Ordered with no onions which I can't tolerate. Like I said, just my preference. They were very generous with the chicken (which had a great flavor), and it came with rice and beans which I thoroughly enjoyed. The homemade chips and salsa are excellent. The gal that was running the front of the house was really nice and attentive to our needs. Overall was a very enjoyable lunch.

Called to make a reservation on a Saturday night... when we arrived, we were told to sit wherever, so obviously a reservation wasn't actually needed. Found a somewhat clean booth in the corner, and waited awhile for someone to come. Ordered some drinks and bean dip. Took longer than I liked to get drinks, but the margaritas were pretty good. Ordered our dinner anticipating yumminess... I didn't like mine, but the server was kind enough to refund my money. All in all, we weren't super impressed. I could see how happy hour would bring in the customers but the atmosphere and food weren't up to My standards.

    Chips and real salsa!

Surprisingly great food and courteous service. With all the mediocre mexican food joints around, this place is authentic and delicious.

The guac has little chopped tomatoes, cotija cheese and pumpkin seeds. The salsa is perfect. The chips and thick and crunchy and perfectly salted, everything was delicious. We also got the potato wedges with savory mustard aioli. So tasty. The potatoes cooked perfectly. I got the ginger soda which was refreshing. Husband got the sangria. We sat on the cute shady patio. It's the kind of locally owned place that has a lot of character. Our waiter recommended the avocado dip and chips, which ended up being one of the best things we ordered. The portion was generous, fresh, and perfect for sharing. We also split the $19 bread board, which is similar to Postino's concept with four breads and different toppings. The hummus was easily our favorite, followed by the BLT. Unfortunately, the salmon and caper spread had a strong odor and tasted off, so none of us enjoyed it. The drinks were good--our friends enjoyed a coconut cocktail while we opted for wine. Overall, I'd give Sofritas 3/5 stars. The atmosphere, drinks, and avocado dip were enjoyable, but the bread board was hit-or-miss for our group.

I was happy about the little purse hooks on the table (iykyk). The outside area, not so much. It's on the corner of a strip mall, there was some etched graffiti on the outside windows, which made you aware of the area you were in. (That's the reason for the 1 star deduction.) The place is very small! So yes, you WILL want to make a reservation. We went around 3:30 on a Friday and I would say 3/4 of the tables had reserved signs on them starting at 5pm on up. The receptionist was constantly back and forth looking at them and moving them around to make space for walk-ins. I would skip bringing your kids here. I didn't use the restroom so idk if that was nice or not. The food was fantastic! And the portions were big. The price matched the portions and quality in our opinion. It's hard to find quality food that's worth the cost lately. We enjoyed the chips and salsa. And hubby ordered a Mexican coke, and the server brought him a frosty glass for it. Everyone around us looked like they were enjoying their food. Our server was great. He chatted with us for a while when we told him about seeing the place on IG. He was grateful for the customers. But admitted, it's caused an influx of people and the 'regulars' have become annoyed. Which is understandable. We'd definitely come back if we're in the area but probably not drive that far out of our way again.
