Got the beef enchiladas from DoorDash. It has a spice kick to it. Not too much which was great for me because I don't like super spicy food. The beef wasn't all that good a bit dry I think next time I'll try grilled chicken or just cheese enchiladas but I will say being from Cali I was impressed with how everything came together overall. I'm sure I'll be ordering again.

Authentic (American-Mexican) and delicious! There are a lot of bad Mexican restaurants in this town but this one is quite good. Authentic chips and salsa, huge portions, and friendly service. Over-priced, for what most patrons want in a good Mexican "joint" and would be better with more reasonable prices. PS IMPORTANT COMPLAINT- they really need a margarita machine as the blended margaritas need some help. They aren't consistent, nor are they strong enough to justify the $15!

My husband and I just moved here from San Francisco, where good, authentic Mexican food is plentiful. We were a bit skeptical of finding a good spot in Philly, but Que Chula Es Puebla is a winner! I had the chiles rellenos, which had this thick eggy batter with a soft tomato-y sauce on top, a style I've never had before, and it was super tasty. Husband had chicken fajitas, and the chicken was tender and juicy, the flavors great. Our friends enjoyed their quesabirria and chimichangas. Their salsas are flavorful and pack a spice wallop, which I loved, and came free with a plate of thick warm chips topped with refried beans and cotija. Service was a smidge slow, but friendly. Prices are okay. Lots of seating in a casual environment. Will definitely be back to try more!

Have been coming here since the very beginning and I love how it's evolved over time! It was once a little hole in the wall and has turned into a little piece of Mexico in this city. Teresa, the owner is super kind and very attentive to everyone that comes in. Everything that I have ordered or someone in my party has been a hit. Looking forward to what the future holds for this establishment but I know only positives will come! Also, I recommend the flan for dessert!

I was craving sopes and decided to try this place since it is super close to my house. I ordered before I left my house and arrived at the store 10 minutes later. I walked in and the staff person was helping another customer, I waited in line for him to finish. When that customer left the phone rang, the staff person answered and I still stood there waiting. He took their order as I stood there. About 2 minutes later he looked up and pleasantly asked "Can I help you"? I told him I was there to pick up my order of sopes and guacamole. He told me my total, which was higher than I expected. I asked him the cost of each item, and I realized that the prices online were outdated. Not a huge deal, bc I was excited to satisfy my craving for sopes. Once I got home, I tore open my bag and dug into the guacamole. Bland and not fresh. I tried the sopes, they were the thickest I have ever had (too thick) and also bland. I had to use the hot sauce to give it flavor. That was $26 down the drain.

The outside of this place was a little off putting, I wasn't sure if I even wanted to go inside... honestly, it looked like a scary neighborhood bar. However, once inside, the atmosphere was very warm and inviting. From the music, to the decor, to the staff, it was great. I went on a Friday afternoon, and it was a small crowd, but service was attentive and speedy, which I appreciated. We had nachos, taco salad and quesadillas--all of which were tasty. I wouldn't say that anything in particular stood out, in terms of the food, but it wasn't bad at all. It's worth a return visit to try more on the menu + the cocktails. The churros were delicious, the highlight of my son's meal. He can't wait to go back.

Very spacious restaurant with a lot of seating. Their menu has changed from the photos uploaded in previous reviews. I tried to order a steak and Mexican sausage burrito and was informed they do not have steak. I tried the shredded beef burrito instead and it was delicious. They have a full bar plus a fridge with plenty of cervezas to choose from. Take out came with 2 salsas- verde and chipotle.

Carne asada tacos ($8.99) with side of chips and beans ($4.99)

This is a lesser known restuarant in Fishtown but it is surprisingly good. It's not exactly a traditional hole in the wall because inside is clean and spacious with plenty of seating. I had 3 carne asada tacos for $8.99 in the traditional style. They were good street tacos but the best tacos I ever had in my life (that would be a random taco stand in Winter Haven, Florida). But it's a pretty good Mexican place in Philly that's not "Americanized" like El Vez. I would pass on the chips and side of bean dip because I didn't like how the chips, although baked and not greasy, weren't light and airy. They tasted more like pita chips. Would be back again.

So, just a short walk north of Girard, there's a Mexican place that gives complementary chips and beans, huge portions, AND is BYOB? Count me in! For the chips, green salsa was a bit better than the red. Unlike the other Mexican places in No Libs/Fishtown, this one has the nopales, tamales, and rellenos that you probably haven't had in a minute if you frequent places nears the Commons or those taco trucks on Girard. I'm from an area with a lot of quality Mexican restaurants on one block, and this place comes the closest to what I find to be my favorite style! The cooks in the back are chatting it up and you can see them making everything quickly and oh so fresh. Tamales were definitely home made, maybe needed a little more sauce, but it was jammed with meat! I probably wouldn't get the thin steak again, but the rice and beans, chile rellenos, tamale, mole enchilada, green onions, and shrimp have me craving another date at Que Chula Es Puebla! Looks like the reviews point to a no for delivery, but for a good value eating in, most definitely.

The meat in the tacos was so dry that it was hard to chew and swallow. Some of the pieces were cooked to a crisp. No amount of salsa could make them better. I'm sorry I didn't take photos of the tacos, but trust me me I get no pleasure from leaving a bad review for this place; I am not lying or exaggerating. I thought they were going to be one of our local gems. I choked down a half a taco, gave the rest to my husband and he couldn't eat them either. The churros actually had raw batter in the middle and the outside was rubbery and hard at the same time. You could barely bite through it. I'm a cook and I know that that is about keeping the oil at an even temperature to get the inside done and not overcook the outside. Someone in the kitchen did not know what they were doing. The thing is, I have had their food before and it was pretty good. I don't know if there is a new chef or what happened, but I can't trust them after this experience.

Good: old fashioned, tri-mix of guac (liked the truffle one), steak tacos. Not so good:coco tartare app, I thought most of the other tacos were tried were very okay for the price and would not recommend (shrimp, pastor (one of my least favorite versions of pastor), one with habaenro (not spicy at all). Would have enjoyed some actual spicy salsa to go with it. Overall, I sadly can't really recommend it.
