Haven't been here in years - like before the pandemic. Came for a lunch meeting on Thursday. It was initially packed when I got there, but was much less people once we were leaving. Kept it simple and did something I don't usually do - I ordered a soup. They had a tortilla soup which sounded so this extremely cold day in Philly. I also ordered the platanos (plantains) with it. The soup was tasty and served at the perfect temp, while the plantains were giving the ideal size softness and sweetness for maduros. Just be careful telling them you need more time to look at the menu because they may not come back for 10-15 minutes. I am a self-proclaimed taco expert, and these guys knocked it out of the park. The chips are homemade, the salsas are full of flavor, and the tacos are just right. I had the beef barbacoa, and the tacos were stuffed full with plenty of meat and fresh toppings. To go with my food, I had a couple of house margaritas, and the flavor was just excellent. On top of all of this, the decor is so cute and the service was great. My friend and I hung around much longer than the time we needed just to eat because we were enjoying this spot so much. This must be a popular spot! Walking in, there were lots of people waiting. The hostess was very attentive and kept us updated on our status for our table. While you're waiting, you're able to go to the bar area, which has cute decor and neon lights. It is very loud in the bar and the restaurant in general. If you're looking for legit Mexican food, this is NOT it. If you're looking for quick food with drinks and a chill ambiance, then come on by. Tacos come in pairs for $16-18, which are pretty small and bland. If you're looking for a full meal expect to pay $60+ with a drink and tip. Service is quick and attentive, but we had some jssues. This is the one and only taco joint I've been to in my entire life across multiple countries and states that charges for lime. Lime/lemon should be a given staple for any taco order, so when my tacos didn't arrive with lime, I asked for one and they didn't even mention it would be an extra charge. Secondly, we paid with our card and left cash as tip. We left over 20%, and the server assumed we left none so he literally RAN after us down the stairs and told us we left no tip. As a former server, this is really tacky. I've been stiffed in the past as a server but never have I chased customers for tip. My one experience here left a sour (pun intended) taste in my mouth so I will not be returning. read more

When (pretty much) the only thing on your menu is tacos, they better be good tacos. Luckily, they were. Went here for dinner last night at 6. Happy hour goes until 6, and the place was packed! I made a reservation online and was seated quickly. (Note that for reservations, there is a cancellation fee so you have to put your card in upon reserving). Unfortunately our dinner time fell between shift change, and it was hard to get our server's attention to receive help or the bill, which was inconvenient when we were in a rush. I had the beef barbacoa tacos which I really liked and also the side of corn. I was a little surprised at how sweet the corn dish was; I was not expecting that.
