    Breakfast burrito

Came here recently for brunch. Service was attentive and friendly. Ordered the strawberry rhubarb margarita, breakfast burrito and side of rice. Everything was very tasty.

I had a hankering for some Mexican food this afternoon, so I headed down to Mission Taqueria and I definitely made a great choice. This was my second visit to the eatery, and everything about it was superb! The open space was quite comfortable, but it was the attentive and quick service, plus the food, that made my lunch so awesome. They had fried oyster tacos on special and so I gave them a try...absolutely delicious! Highly recommended!

My family ate dinner here last night coming in from NYC and we were pleasantly surprised about how good the food was. I made an open table reservation and arrived to a bustling dinner atmosphere- it was packed for an Easter Friday weekend - Our waitress was quick responsive and efficient always difficult on a busy Friday night - the atmosphere is millennial but fun and active we got seated right away. We had trio of tacos - beans and rice - excellent plantains and a mango pineapple margarita which was delicious Bill came to $120 - with tip - so reasonable- next time you're in Philly make it a stop !

Haven't been here in years - like before the pandemic. Came for a lunch meeting on Thursday. It was initially packed when I got there, but was much less people once we were leaving. Kept it simple and did something I don't usually do - I ordered a soup. They had a tortilla soup which sounded so this extremely cold day in Philly. I also ordered the platanos (plantains) with it. The soup was tasty and served at the perfect temp, while the plantains were giving the ideal size softness and sweetness for maduros. Will have to come back to try the tacos again sometime since it has been so long since I've had them.

This was my second time here, came for a late night light dinner date with my husband. We got a cute little table close to the host stand soon as you come up the stairs to the right. We had a nice server, couple of plates, and a dessert. My husband had a drink and everything we had tasted really good. BUT here's what spoiled it for us. They have this strange room so to speak with lights where people take pictures?? Very confusing. Every time the door opens into the room, the COLDEST ARCTIC BREAZE comes on and blows! Every time it was as cold as winter. So unnecessary and so disruptive. Every time my husband had to ask the hostess to go close the door. This is just a dealbreaker and very silly. Makes no sense.

    What a spread!

Food Ordered: * worth trying - [Guacamole]: It was pretty standard guacamole. The chips it came with were a little salty. - [Fried Mahi Mahi Tacos]: The fry on the fish was good but the ones at El Vez are better. - [Wild Shrimp Tacos]: These were more flavorful and seasoned than the Fried Mahi Mahi tacos but the serrano chiles made it a bit too spicy (for reference, I can handle a 3 or 4/10 in terms of spice). - [Tostada Embarazada]: I liked the crispiness of the tortilla but everything else was bland. - [Tres Leches Cake]: I thought the tropical twist with the toasted coconut, mango puree, pineapple, and lime zest was interesting but didn't like how wet the cake was. I didn't think there was a lot of depth in flavor either. Would I go back? : Probably not. I didn't think the food was necessarily bad but you can easily get better versions of most of the exact same items at El Vez, which is a 6 minute walk away. I would more accurately rate Mission Taqueria as a 2.5.

This is a popular place in Center City Philly! And I see why! The atmosphere is bustling, the service is kind. Just be careful telling them you need more time to look at the menu because they may not come back for 10-15 minutes. Tip: look at the menu online before you arrive so you're ready when you get there. They are a busy place especially in the evenings! Now let's talk food....btw please accept my apology the tacos were so good I didn't take time to take pictures! I highly recommend the shrimp tacos! They are delicious!! The chicken tacos are good and flavorful but I was disappointed that it wasn't just as good as the shrimp. What more could I say? Visit! That should be enough.

    Mahi Mahi Tacos
    Amber K.

I came for a craving of mahi tacos after a long day and it was absolutely delicious. I also got the side of rice and beans and a margarita. The margarita was a delicious pairing. It wasn't too sweet which I loved. The rice and beans was a nice portion and I loved the lime and avocado on top. Came alone to watch the game at the bar but the interior was very cute (sometimes I feel like tv at the bar messes with the vibe but I didn't feel like that here) The service at the bar was fantastic despite how busy it was! The bartender Am was very kinda and friendly. Great time all around!

    Happy hour!!

Highly recommend coming here for happy hour! They have a great selection of alcoholic drinks a well as delicious tacos and appetizers. They also have special happy hour item for the day - when we were there on a Friday afternoon they had the fried tuna fish as the special happy hour taco. We ordered a mix of: - chicharron - esquites - cauliflower Al pastor taco - tuna taco - mixed seafood tostada - house Margie Everything was so delicious!! I especially love the tuna taco and the cauliflower taco. The house Margie is also pretty strong ... or I just have low tolerance now. I love how you can actually make a reservation for happy hour as well! This place was packed during happy hour so highly suggest making a reservation.

Was in town visiting my son who recommended Mission Taqueria and so glad he did! We enjoyed the food, happy hour and great service! They have lots of vegan dishes to choose from. My son enjoyed the cauliflower al pastor tacos. I was extremely happy with the chicken quesadilla. Can't wait to visit next time I'm in Philly certainly a great spot.

I am a self-proclaimed taco expert, and these guys knocked it out of the park. The chips are homemade, the salsas are full of flavor, and the tacos are just right. I had the beef barbacoa, and the tacos were stuffed full with plenty of meat and fresh toppings. To go with my food, I had a couple of house margaritas, and the flavor was just excellent. On top of all of this, the decor is so cute and the service was great. My friend and I hung around much longer than the time we needed just to eat because we were enjoying this spot so much. I'd love to come back and try some of the other menu items.

    Carnitas taco!!! AMAZING!!!

Still 5 out of 5. I love this place and love the menu. The service is always 10 stars. The food is still amazing. The atmosphere is still the greatest. This is always my first stop whenever I'm back in town.

    Quesabirria Quesadillas
    Janese F.

The restaurant has a cute vibe and is located downtown, so the prices are on the higher side, though the portions are fairly small. They only offer margaritas on the rocks, not frozen. The quesabirria and broth lacked flavor. I tried adding lime to both, but it didn't really help. The drinks were ok. On the plus side, the service was excellent-- we were seated right away, and the waitress was very attentive.

Do you still serve the spicy chicken wings? (Didn't see them on the menus)

We used to! There might be some pictures of them on our Yelp page, but they've been off the menu for about 6 months now... We've got plenty of spicy chicken tacos though!

The meat was moist, tasty, properly salted, with a discernible bark. The amount of cheese, sauerkraut, & dressing accentuated the pastrami, although so much meat would be hard to impact! It needed the long spear to stay together. But yet I could cut & shave & make mini sandwiches. The potato salad was a great refresher. Not too tart, with carrots, celery, & I could taste onion. The pickle was not too acidic. Great crunch. A nice interlude between bites of the sandwich & potato salad. I took my time. It went into overtime. Washing it down with coke. My taste buds won. Great service. A nice diner like vibe. Incredible menu. We don't have this level of Jewish Deli in the Bay Area. I'd go every week. $36.18 is with it! While I was downtown, I picked up about $92 worth of food, including 1 1/2 pounds of shrimp salad that couldn't be ordered online because, for some reason, the website would not allow it. The very next day, when we went to eat it, something was clearly wrong. The shrimp salad caused a tingling sensation on our tongues, and it was obvious it had gone bad. I called the deli to let them know not just because we couldn't eat it, but because I thought they would want to know if there was a potential issue with the batch. Instead of receiving an apology or any concern, I was met with a dismissive response of, "Oh, that's weird," and the conversation felt condescending. I explained that I couldn't bring the shrimp salad back because I'm leaving town and my mother has limited mobility. I wasn't asking for a refund on our entire order. I simply asked if they could issue a gift card or store credit for the shrimp salad so my mother could use it on a future visit. Every possible solution I suggested was met with an excuse as to why it couldn't be done. The spoiled food was disappointing, but the lack of empathy and customer service was worse. Loyal customers deserve to be treated with respect when they raise a legitimate concern. After years of supporting 4th Street Deli, this experience has unfortunately convinced us that it will be our last visit. I'm reading they have new owners, so maybe it's not the same amazing management we are used to.
