lunch special

My group came here twice during the short work trip we had in Alexandria. It was a very small town with not too many options, but many were craving Cajun since we were in the south. I am personally not a huge fan of Southern food and the food here was not super authentic in my opinion, but again, it was a very small town in Louisiana, so I wasn't expecting anything out of the ordinary. The atmosphere and service were great, with many cool decoration.

Into for work and wanted some local food. It was great, food was tasty and atmosphere good time

This is the second time that I have eaten here and I have been disappointed both times. The print is so small that you cannot see where the seafood comes from. There were only 2 waitresses today so service wasn't the best. My cousin had the prime rib sandwich which she said was good. My crawfish deuce was cold when it was brought to the table. The kitchen could not warm it up because I had eaten some of the crawfish. Not a good experience for me.

Shrimp and grits with Texas toast

Do not sleep on this place! Everything we had was amazing! Crab cakes were light with a little spice, a huge portion of shrimp and grits with the most amazing smoked ham and étouffée stuffed snapper, wild rice and scalloped potatoes like you have never had them before. All with the best flavor!!! Also had a perfectly balanced Smoked Old Fashioned to round out the dinner. Antonio and his staff and kitchen crew were so warm and kind. We will likely be making a special trip from Texas just to come eat here again!

Visited this restaurant in a strip center off the highway at 8:52 p.m. and it closed at 9 p.m. Immediately inquired whether it would be an issue serving us and was assured by the hostess it wasn't. The kitchen will fill orders no later than 9:10 p,m. The waitstaff was friendly and accommodating. Parking available in front of restaurant. Upon entry, the hostess stand is near the door and there were one couple and a small family seated. The waiter, a graduate student in Strategic Leadership, immediately took our dinner order. I always engage my servers with kindness and respect and leave great tips. Service industry is sometimes challenging. My party of 4 ordered: Shrimp Po'boy, seafood platter, burger, fried catfish and a garden salad. The food was delicious and well seasoned with no complaints. Reasonably priced menu items. The Cajun themed medium sized restaurant has a section for Live music on weekends. None during our visit. There is a bar, clean restrooms, and ample seating. It's an inviting place to enjoy dinner. I will surely return.

Ordered the seafood gumbo. It was good but very salty. Supposed to be the best in central louisiana. The service was good.

Feels like being wrapped in a warm blanket... the food and the service! I forgot to take a photo but the Demi Pasta was on point.

The food was decent. I had the shrimp Po-Boy. Also had the chicken cracklin. Which was very good with the dip.

Since it's Lent season, I expected a bit of a wait. I'm not big on hush puppies, so I swapped them for shrimp fried rice, and I'm glad I did! It was simple but packed with flavor and well seasoned. A nice surprise that paired perfectly with the platter. The fries were nothing special, but the coleslaw and tartar sauce tasted homemade, which gave the whole meal a comforting, small-town feel. It reminded me of those corner store seafood spots in New Orleans. I'd come back for another fried seafood platter!

I got the 7 Piece fish plate and my wife got a Fish/Shrimp Poboy. I got Cajun Fries and She got Onion Rings and we split each side so we had some of both. Their fish is real, farm raised, catfish. Not imported substitutes. It was crispy and delicious. My wife's poboy was perfectly dressed and, according to her, delicious. The onion rings I will be jonesing for now. So good! The guy at the window was super nice and helpful. This is the kind of place I'll remember. I hope to get a chance to come back when we're in the area. I only wish I had taken pictures.

Nova is a fitting name. The menu is "nerdy" and the taste is explosive. We tried their Avocado Coffee. Yes. Avocado Coffee. Very inventive, especially for Pineville. There are so many amazing menu items that's creatively named (Sorry I was so caught up and being super early. I forgot to take pics except for the one site pic after the rush has cleared before another rush of people about to walk in as we were walking out). There were four of us and every plate was uniquely named and scrumptious. We aren't from here, so we are definitely surprised to experience this "big city" experience in a small town. Staff and service were amazing. The owner even came by to talk to us. Place might remind us of old Waffle House but it smells clean and looks clean. It's CLEAN. If you live within 30 mins of driving...Or even an hour.... Definitely worth a drive to come here to support great local small business owners and expect to be blown away with the creativity and deliciousness!!!!

I got the special of the day which was baked chicken with rice and gravy and two sides. They guy serving was super sweet to explain to me the ordering process and I had a great conversation with the woman in line before me who comes every week for the Wednesday special. For my sides, I chose the greens and mashed potatoes. Even though I got two starches, it was worth it because the mashed potatoes and gravy were worth having as a main dish! I loved the greens, too, especially since they had all the hot sauce and peppers and vinegar choices you could want. The chicken was fork tender and I left nothing on the plate. I love that they provide each guest a little wrapped package of cornbread and iced cake of the day, too. I will definitely be stopping at Pamela's any time I'm in town.

We both felt really heavy afterward, and my mom even felt sick after eating there. It was just basic diner food and a bit overpriced for something you can get almost anywhere else. However, the cake that comes with the cornbread was my favorite part. SERVICE: The service was fine. It had more of a cafeteria-style vibe, so there isn't much to say about it. AMBIANCE: The inside felt very run down. The bar wasn't even finished and didn't look like it was ever used. Overall, it had a very hole-in-the-wall feel.
