I have been a loyal customer for years so it saddens me to review this business. I ended up with a fungus and went back so the wrong could be righted. From a customer it wasn't the affected nail wasn't treated and I paid full price for a dip that was to be better than my normal acrylic tips. I got the dip on Saturday and I wasn't satisfied but o well. Sunday evening these nails were chipping and lifting, I went back to the salon on Monday it was closed( holiday) I go back Tuesday and still had to pay for another set of nails. I will no longer support this business when a customers safety and satisfaction are not a priority and I have to pay for all of the mistakes made. I went to queen nails on a whim looking to get a gel manicure. While they didn't do all the manicure items that I'm used to at salons in my hometown (soak in water, wash your hands, wax dip, fill hand massage) It was still good! I walked in and was taken immediately and she did my cuticles, filed and shaped my natural nails and gave a short half hand massage at the very end. I asked her to do a design and it turned out great! It was my first time and I'm not sure if I had to ask for a deluxe or something else. The price on their website for a gel manicure was $25, I paid $45 plus tip. The place and the service have really gone down hill. Cramped and cluttered chaos. Price charged does not match the service menu. I had charged $15 more than the published price for the most basic pedicure. My dip nails were a mess. Every nail on my left had was crooked. I asked 3 times for the tech to correct my nails before I gave up. The way she roughly filed my dipped nails left my nail beds sore for days. I had come in the get nails fixed that were loose/falling off within a few days of getting them as a new set. I expressed my frustration with this, and the manager told me that they would fix them but only charge me a fill. I wasn't the happiest with that solution, but agreed to it. I had explained to him and the lady doing my nails that several were loose. (I was able to feel my nail separate from the acrylic set.) I didn't want it to fall off along with the other nail that already had. She told me she would just glue it. When I walked out after my "fix," the nails were still not solidly glued. Caveats right off the bat: 1. It's small and busy, prepare to wait, especially on a Saturday around noon-ish... 2. They shouldn't even offer appointments because of #1 3. They do not have a standard order of steps in the Deluxe Pedicure 4. They use individually packaged product, which is awesome! Now that you know all those things, you should be able to have a good time relaxing and being pampered once it is your turn... I met my friend for a daytime hangout halfway between Detroit, MI (where I live) and Bloomington, IN (where she lives) and we decided to get pedicures before grabbing lunch. I did make a reservation, but I knew as soon as I walked in that #1 above was inevitable and to breathe and be patient. Once it was our turn, we were seated next to each other and had no issues with our pedicures. My friend got hot towels before hot stones and I got hot stones before hot towels, but that was the only difference. The young lady that worked on my feet did an excellent job and I wish I got her name to recommend her. She might have been the youngest one in the shop? Observations: Customers were coming in and checking out like a revolving door Some folks got frustrated and rude with the staff, don't be mean Becky! The worst! Wish I could give ZERO stars. FYI: except for a couple pics with burgundy chairs the rest of the pictures on here are not real! No where near as nice as advertised. They do serve drinks (ghetto concoctions--not what's pictured here) and probably heavily advertise them to get customers too drunk to see how shitty their service and work is. Salon is cluttered with boxes and supplies from front entrance all the way to the back of the shop. Jam packed with supplies, including in their customer bathroom. Upon entering the first thing you see is cases of beer stacked on top of each other in front of a "bar" stocked with bottles of alcohol. Equipment and work stations are outdated and some of the massage chairs had wires cut where controls were supposed to be. The nail techs are not sanitary and did not wash hands between customers or clean equipment. Woman who identified herself as the owner was gulping down red wine on the job while serving up mixed drinks to customers immediately after working on someone's nails and WITHOUT washing her hands. She twisted up fancy colorful straws with her dirty bare hands and stuck them in drinks she served. I was willing to have another tech finish the mess of a job done when I initially stopped tech and complained about the unsatisfactory work, but the owner got an attitude before offering to correct it so I declined. She stated I had let tech do 30 mins of work before I stopped him as if I was suppose to know he was doing a shitty Job before he got to painting over jagged cuticles and hangnails he left behind. I went into Queen nails to get my nails done and only about 10% of the staff had on masks. The nail tech who was going to do my nails was not wearing a mask. They wanted me to sit about 2 feet from the only other customersin there when every other booth was open. Granted I'm 9 months pregnant so taking Covid fairly seriously. I've been here three times now, the first two were fine no complaints but nothing too great, but this last time was a disaster. I went in for an acrylic fill and was told I'd actually need to get a whole new set, which is fine. The nail tech then proceeded to not soak my nails in anything and instead just 'pop off' the old acrylic with a separate nail, completely destroying my nail. She then went to apply new acrylic which came out so thick, missed parts of my nail, and on other fingers is cutting into my finger and actually causing blood. There was no cuticle care at all which is exceedingly obvious when you see my nails. She didn't let the paint dry between hands before applying the next coat so the polish is splotchy on some fingers. All of this for $60? My fingers actually hurt. I have had better results from glue on nails at target. I will not be going back, completely ridiculous. read more

I really like this place. They've always done a really good job. Here's the thing, they're going to be BUSY!! It doesn't matter what time of day you go or what day of the week. There are people waiting in their cars every single day for them to open the doors. They do a pretty decent job of employing enough people to service everyone in a timely manner. It certainly doesn't hurt that there are alcoholic beverages (and non-alcoholic beverages) available while you wait! Their prices are pretty comparable to most nail salons in the Fort. read more

I have always had pleasant experiences at Queen Nails. I mean what girl doesn't want to get their nails done and drink a mimosa at the same time!? The salon is always busy, but they do their best to get you in as soon as possible. I never have to make an appointment beforehand. It is clean and the staff is mostly friendly. I love that they have different pedicure options and you can go all-out if you want. They have PLENTY of colors and they are always prompt to get you out the door, but not rushed. Everyone was so cheerful and always asked if we needed anything. Even though it seems busy, we got someone to help us right away. The place was pretty clean and the best part was the lack of chemical smells! My nail tech was super friendly. She took her time and made sure my nails were done how i wanted it to be. I also got the basic pedicure and it was sooo relaxing since my job requires me to be on my feet all day!! Yes there's a bar inside sooo if you really wanna treat yoself, this is the spot! I usually like this place but a big group of workers were eating in the back and then proceeded to lounge on the chairs barefooted. A young girl decided to clean and dust her station right next to me and my manicurist and dust was flying everywhere and ammonia bottles pouring. It was so rude and when I complained the girl goes back laughing and talking about me with her group of eaters. It just seemed very dirty and I felt like a bother instead of a customer. Horrible customer service. Asked for top pedicure for myself and basic for the other two people gave me less of everything. They received the file on bottom of feet - scrubs with hot stones etc. I received basic. Polish job is awful didn't clean them up so either too little or too much also was on my skin or not covering full nail. On manicures for my guests the nails cut way down when asked for just a trim and file and the polish was also see through to the nail it was so thinly applied. Last person received acrylics and they were almost popped up the way they were applied. Then the bill was $300. Unbelievable. This place has gone down hill. Don't get me started on how dirty it was and how packed. Three different nail techs same result and our toes are itching from the foot bath lack of cleanliness. Will never go back. There were also random food containers on the shelves. After my nails were polished, the nail tech got a snack and ate it while she sat across from me. I would seriously go to any other nail salon. I rarely go get my nails done and decided to go due to a special occasion. I have never been so poorly treated. I asked for a manicure and they electric filed/thinned my nail and just put nail polish on it. I asked for just a pump of lotion when paying and the manager pulled out a little packet of a sample and put a tiny dot on my hand and used the rest of the packet for herself... Not to mention the place is smelly, dirty, and disorganized. They're obviously selling alcohol without a license as well. PLEASE READ - BEWARE IF YOU AREN'T A REGULAR (or paying for premium services)! I came into Queen Nails because of the great reviews on this site. I was in town visiting family on my way to a series of job interviews in Chicago. I had a gel manicure that was on its last legs, and was starting to chip pretty badly. So I decided to go in and just have the polish removed and a clear coat put on - something that should have been very, very simple. The results were catastrophic for my nails. When I got there, I was impressed by the interior and the nice pedicure stations, and by the sheer size of it - I think 12 pedicure stations and maybe 20 manicure stations? They were busy, but I asked how long the wait was for a manicure (which I thought was easier than launching into the description of what I wanted), and was seated right away. There were several employees who were not with customers, but it took about 7 or 8 minutes for anyone to come over. An older asian lady came over to my station, and I explained that I just wanted a gel polish removal, some shaping, and a clear coat. Her attitude became rather hostile when she realized I didn't want the full manicure. She stalked away and came back with a bowl filled with polish remover. I was expecting her to dip cotton into the remover and use foil wraps to hold it in place against my nails - this is standard procedure, and I noted two girls at the pedicure stations who were having their nails prepped this way. Instead - after requesting full payment (which I gave, with generous tip, even though it was a full $20 just for removal) - she instructed me to put my fingers directly into the polish remover. Even though I thought this was strange, I said what the heck, it'll still work, and did it. Now, anyone who has had this done knows that it takes at least 10 minutes to get the polish loose enough to come off, if not longer. She waited about 5 minutes before taking my hands out and taking off the polish. I use the phrase "taking off the polish" almost in jest. She didn't just take off the polish - she sheared OFF half of my nail - as in literally taking layers of good, undamaged nail off with the polish. She used the side of some kind of blade and scraped it as hard as she could to get the polish off - it literally hurt my fingers. At this point I should have got up and walked out, or requested someone else. But I stayed, because I felt trapped and afraid to make a scene. I hoped that after getting the polish off, she would at least do the shaping and polish well - after all, this is routine procedure that anyone could do. Instead she ground my nails down more with the buffer, clipped my nails too short, and barely filed them. At this point, my fingers beneath the nails were throbbing. I could feel (and see) the blood rushing to the surface. In fact, you could gauge which nails had more nail taken off because they were patchy and red beneath the surface. Amazingly, after all that, there was STILL pieces of polish on two fingers. When I pointed this out to her, she said it was fine and no one would see it. After looking at my nails, I realized there was no way I could use a clear polish - she had completely destroyed them. So I asked for a neutral coat of polish that would hide the damage. She huffed away and brought back a reasonable light cream color, which was fine. She then put the polish on extremely sloppily - you could see every brush stroke, and you could still see where she hadn't taken off the gel. I stayed under the cure lamps for about as long as I could hold my temper, and then left. My nails started chipping and cracking later that night. The next day I redid the polish myself to salvage them into something halfway decent for my job interviews. Now, I went into the salon at the end of July. I waited a month and a half because I didn't want to be *that* person who leaves horrible reviews for no reason. But my nails have STILL NOT RECOVERED from this abuse. I chip - at minimum - 3 nails a day because they are so weak. I've tried every kind of strengthener I can, just to help them survive until they grow out. But all I have to do is look at one funny and it splits. I don't understand why she treated me so poorly. I was polite, I tipped well (without knowing what I was getting), and they weren't busy enough for her to be tripping over herself to get to other customers. I'm so confused, and so angry that I didn't walk out right away. Please don't make the same mistake I did. tl;dr: Nail artist ruined my nails because she was busy and wanted a customer who was paying for pricier services. I also had my daughter with me whose 3 who got her nails painted and a pedicure and the lady doing her nails did not know how to/want to work with a kid at all. They don't use sanitized tools (or at least they don't open them from a sealed package and then there thrown back in their bucket of pedicure supplies), the floor is dirty, and the pedicure I received was the worst I ever had. The nail tech continued to talk to another coworker during the appointment. Meanwhile other coworkers are lounging out in chairs while others are eating. Additionally they don't have very many OPI (non-gel) colors and the colors they do have are low quality and the bottles are old and dirty. If you are new and have standards avoid this place. I had called ahead and made sure to make an appointment for two people for my birthday and even though there were open spots by eachother they made my friends and I separate. The lady doing my nails didn't bother to make any conversation and she ended up grinding my skin not my nail. In the end when I brought it up one lady took care of my finger then called the lady who did it and she came over and shook her head and told me that there was bothing wrong with my hand and I was fine there was no injury even though I was bleeding. I went in and got them fixed however they did it so carelessly leaving color around my cuticle and nails being crooked and sharp at the ends, they were offering drinks to everyone but me because I came in for a free service. Not to mention that I was there for 45 mins when originally it took a hour to do a full set. Not happy with how they treated me. Very nice and accommodating. Went in for a pedicure and was pleasantly surprised at the nice service. Some down sides to the visit would include: a messy front desk, areas of the facility that look as though they need to be cleaned, front desk people yelling toward the back to get someone, employees eating in front of customers, and hard to understand those working at the establishment. With all of that said... I left with a good pedicure and have plans to possibly return. It looks as though they have plans to hire a new front desk person.
