Fried catfish with fries and blackened catfish with coleslaw (both with hushpuppies)

This place is everything you could hope for and more! The atmosphere is warm and inviting, with a friendly vibe that's only enhanced by the regulars--a true testament to the amazing staff and incredible food. Whether you're dining inside or on their lovely, fresh patio, you're in for a treat. For sports fans, this is a dream! With at least 13 TVs playing games, you'll never miss a moment of the action. The waitstaff strikes the perfect balance between attentive and laid-back, making every visit feel seamless and enjoyable. Now, let's talk about the food--absolutely phenomenal! The crawfish macaroni is rich, creamy perfection, and the catfish (fried or blackened) is packed with flavor. Don't skip the hush puppies or the boudin balls--they've got just the right kick of spice. And the bread pudding? Warm, decadent, and unforgettable. Bonus: My coworkers and I discovered you can split the lunch-sized club sandwich with fries between four people--it's delicious, filling, and such a great deal! We'll definitely keep coming back and can already see this becoming one of our regular spots. If you're looking for great food, great service, and a great vibe, this is the place to be. Highly recommended!

We were greeted and seated promptly when we arrived. Our server checked for drinks, and came back and answered our questions, and took our order. The seating is good, and they have bar seating also. Stephanie did an awesome job caring for us. The baguette for my po boy was outstanding, the shrimp were tender and blackened to perfection. The restrooms were clean, the restaurant was well maintained. We enjoyed our lunch.

    Catfish Mardi Gras

Came her with my parents and husband on a Saturday afternoon. My dad raved about a catfish dish they had- Catfish Mardis Gras, so my husband and I split it with a bowl of gumbo on the side. The cream sauce on this dish is out of this world. This is definitely a must try! The gumbo had a little too much chicken for my taste, but overall we really enjoyed ourselves. My mom got pancakes bc they also have breakfast - and these were the biggest pancakes I had ever seen! She loved them and even took some home with her due to the massive portion. We will definitely be back!

Definitely not Louisiana cooking. It was mediocre at best. I had to ask for my shrimp poboy to be dressed with lettuce tomato pickles and onions and tartar sauce. There were three young children running around the restaurant I believe they belonged to a worker. Not my idea to have small children running around and swinging Mardi Gras beads while I am trying to enjoy a Valentine's dinner with my husband. Not likely to return.

This place right here, excellent all around. Nice ambiance, friendly staff. Now let's get to the food. I had a shrimp Poboy and it might be one of the best po boys I've had in a long while. The shrimp was cooked perfectly, the bread flaky and buttery. The sauce they used on the shrimp was *chefs kiss* not sure if it was some kind of remoulade or just a cream sauce but it took it over the top. My wife was stealing shrimp and dunking it around the sauce left and right. My wife had jambalaya and it got her seal of approval, high praise as she is from Louisiana. The sausage was the star of that show, nice smoky flavor complemented the rice nicely. If you're in the Spring area check this place out, you won't be disappointed.

Friendly staff. Gumbo was decent. Beer was cold. Had a good crowd of people. We will be back to try a few more items on the menu.

Service was excellent…read more Ambiance--usual diner feel Food: Ox tails delicious--tad too spicy but I enjoyed every bite! Rice & gravy gummy with no seasoning! Cabbage was good--greens very spicy! Gave to my sister who rated 9 out of 10 would recommend. Cornbread was like hard day old bread and went into the trash! Bbq platter: BIL loved his plate! Said potato salad was meh but all else good! Hotlinks, ribs, and beans! Sister got fried chicken and added mac&cheese along with yams! Chicken was fresh but not seasoned much! Mac&cheese good for diner menu option, and yams were okay she said! Greasy spoon Mac is better IMO but Granny's oxtails the best I've had here in H-town! Although spicy/hot food is not my favorite I did enjoy them If the cornbread were softer & sweeter I think the rating would be 4! Would I go back? Hmm! Yea for the tails of course! I saw they have catfish & black eyed peas so I may try those next time as well! Overall 3.5 but can't do half stars By default I left it at 4

We have probably past this place 1000 times and never stopped but today was the day!!!…read more Our waitress Theresa was amazing, he kindness, knowledge of the menu and even upselling upcoming specials was so sweet and non invasive. The food was also amazing. We had the fried pork steak and chicken fried steak with Mac-n-cheese, mashed potatoes, loaded potatoes, and fried okra... all for 29.99 including the drinks. It gets no better than this. Oh and I heard that Wednesdays is all you can eat catfish so you know I am coming back! The restaurant itself was peaceful and had a Saturday morning in the country feel!!!

Daily specials of classic comfort foods, fried catfish, pork chops, barbecue, burgers, rolls (with margarine, I didn't know even know that was still a thing, isn't it bad for us ?) Banana pudding, peach cobbler, which is one of the best cobblers I've ever had. Red and white checkered vinyl tablecloths and booths that have seen a lot of action, this place is unchanged for who knows how long. Okay, as an Italian that loves to cook, I will say this place is catering to its older generation and overly cautious about its use of seasoning., and their paper cost. (We've asked for napkins 3 times now) I don't think they even salt the water for the potatoes or macaroni because both of these sides are blah. The black eyes peas were creamy and good ( and yes, I had to add salt to these too, but thats a given) once I got the salt right, I loved them. The portions were big enough of the fried catfish and the sliced beef that we could have shared one of those entrees, but we both wanted something different. Overall, great place, definitely recommend.
