I understand why everyone thinks this place is great but we've been twice and both times we liked certain things and other things it so much. Fried mushrooms are great, chicken noodle soup great. The flavor of the chicken fried steak and fried pork chop were good but the breading come off which is a bit of a deal breaker for me. The eggs I ordered, scrambled light came out like an omelette burnt and the redo wasn't much better. Chicken pot pie has a filo dough crust and is watery. I may give it one more try but there are too many more spots to try. Service one the first visit was better than the second. read more

For some reason I thought this was a health food restaurant, but when I visited one day after craving a grilled chicken sandwich, I found out they have many fried items too. Upon first glance of the interior, it looks like this space used to be a bar or something with a huge bar area in the middle of the space off to the right side. There are many circular cut outs in the ceiling where huge room fans are installed. They make all their dressings homemade, and hand bread many of their fried items like mushrooms, onion rings and stuffed jalapeños. They have salads, burgers, and 12 different comfort food entrees. They also have a daily special menu that spotlights a couple items of the day and their coffees, soups and dessert. They are a beer and wine restaurant. One unique item they have on the menu is a fork and knife hot dog which costs $13. Wow, this better be one awesome hot dog. The day I visited, they had a party for about 30 senior citizens that were celebrating a birthday. Normally that many customers in a single group would make a restaurant pretty loud, but it was actually extremely quiet in the restaurant. Every good restaurant does something slightly different to set them apart. Here at dinner, they give you a dinner roll slathered in melted honey butter and rosemary. The roll itself seemed to be made from frozen dough, but the tasty butter made it edible. I ordered the chicken club and kept the fries as my side. As far as presentation, I'd give it a C. The fries are frozen breaded fries. The sandwich tasted better than it looked thankfully. Service was good throughout my time here. I've always believed service can make or break a dining experience. And that's one of the things that makes this place great. Not crowded at all on a Thursday at 6 pm for dinner although folks started trickling in as the evening went along. We were actually on our way to Popeyes but decided to get a real dinner here instead as we passed by. The dinner rolls - omg. Worth the cheat. Lit like a Christmas tree with butter and glistening with butter and what tasted like maybe a hint of honey as it's slightly sweet. The food was pretty good although the Meatloaf had a couple of onion rings on top that were chewy AF. Ack. Toss to side. The meatloaf itself was better although not as good as my mom used to make it. I guess that's always the guess ands conflict of interest. Note, the cheaper $5 sides can be substituted for the green beans and/or mashed potatoes. Or you can pay $2 each to substitute either of them out with the $7 sides. I substituted the beans for fries which had a slight coating and were nice and fresh. Chicken fried steak was better than the meatloaf imho. We got the jalapeño gravy which is the white cream gravy with jalapeños. Tasty and not too spicy. For desert check out the huge cakes in the display case. For us, we had to try the brown butter banana pudding for my kids sake. Little Minion. But it did not disappoint. Our waiter said he used to drive 2 hours from college just for it. And it was good. It did not have a artificial yellow color like most places. Perhaps due to the brown butter (whatever that is). But it was good and the wafers were crunchy both on top and on the bottom. Decor is nice. Wood. They were setting up Xmas decorations and I bet it's really cozy in there. We were warmly welcomed and told to sit wherever we liked. We started with the fried mushrooms, crispy and delicious. For our entrées, I had the Omega Chicken and he had the smothered pork chops. Both were perfectly cooked and full of flavor. The green beans with crispy bacon and seasoned mashed potatoes were the perfect sides. His pork chops were so tender, he said they melted in his mouth. The thing I loved about this place the most was the fact that they are extremely flexible when it comes to substituting proteins or carbs to each customer's needs and wants. They were very open to any changes, while doing Keto that becomes super appreciated. The place is inviting, they have booths and tables. They have TVs and a rotating display of cakes. I took my mom to see her great granddaughter, my 1st grandchild, who was born last week. It was a great time. A 4 generational moment. (With a lot of pics) So as soon as we got back in my truck, she said she was so hungry and wanted Chinese food. Like a buffet. I said I got a better idea. And off we went. Fried chicken, mashed taters, grilled corn, cheese and I went with the jalapeño gravy - I like it spicy. So dammmm good. This was a new one for me. If I was to make it, not sure what I would change. I came back. Service was nice and friendly. The ambiance was still a vibe for a Monday afternoon. They had some jams playing. Tried the meatloaf. It did not disappoint. I recently enjoyed a satisfying burger topped with crispy fried onions, BBQ sauce, bacon and melted cheese - its generous size even allowed me to take half home. The fried mushrooms and honey butter cornbread are not to be missed. Despite visiting on a Saturday night, I was surprised to find the restaurant relatively empty. Given the high quality of the food and prompt, friendly service, I would expect it to be more popular. The sandwich and fries were really good and the meatloaf was nice too. We also got a slice of cake, they looked really nice in the case but it was not worth it. All the drinks tasted off the day I went. Not sure if it was just post hurricane issue or what but both the water and sodas tasted wrong. Never heard of this place but was invited by a friend to dinner. If I understood my friend he said this place is ran by the children of the owners of the olive oil restaurant just down the road. I checked out website first and all the food looks and sounded so good. Everything looked fresh and made to order. Located in a strip mall, plenty of parking and once inside not as big as I expected but plenty of tables and staff. I had a few questions about 3-4 dishes I was considering and the waitress was very nice, friendly and patient and took time to explain and answer all my questions. I ended up ordering the meat loaf and it was spectacular, green bean fresh and crisp (not water logged like most chain restaurants that leave them in a pot of water for hours) the garlic mash taters were awesome... All I will say is if you go and order this, replace the standard brown gravy with the jalapeño gravy...so good they should bottle it and sell it!!! It has a kick so if you can't handle peppers don't order but if you can you'll love it.. Next visits I will try the Omega bowl, chicken pineapple sandwich or the pork chops. My friend has had all of these and he says all are great and you can't go wrong with any of them. Huge portions you won't leave hungry... Will return for sure. read more

Chicken fried steak is delicious. Technically I didn't even need the white gravy but it was also so good. My wife had the bacon and avocado sandwich and subbed her fries for French onion soup. Believe the hype, this place is amazing. The staff were friendly, always there precisely when you needed them, and eminently helpful. We ordered HTX Cheese dip, chicken strips, the breakfast all day burger, and the Omega Grilled cheese with soup (French onion.) Everything was delicious! While most places will have good food and leave things like chicken strips for kids as an afterthought, that wasn't the case here and our daughter actually got good food. My wife loved her breakfast all day burger and said she would have difficulty ordering something new next time. But, to me the French onion soup was the star. It was complex, rich, and incredibly delicious. The omega grilled cheese was the perfect tool for dipping in this soup and together it was quite a hearty meal. I wasn't exactly starving when we arrived, but I almost never leave my plate unfinished. So why even give 3-stars here? The server was nice and gave us a huge booth, which was an ideal setup for a wiggly 2-year old. They seemed to not be annoyed by him, despite him doing everything in his power to make the experience unpleasant. This is a little hole in the wall restaurant. We stopped here a few months back by accident. There was a wait at a nearby Mexican restaurant so we decided to give it a try. The food is made fresh and everything was delicious. We were going to be in the area today so we decided to try their brunch. Our server said it was a limited brunch menu they were trying out but it has several options. Hubby and I both had the chicken fried steak and eggs. Great food and healthy options! I love the Omega Club grilled chicken sandwich, the Omega chicken entree and the meatloaf. They also have a yummy chopped chicken salad and delicious healthy grilled chicken entree with rice pilaf and veggies. I enjoy all of these dishes.
