Left me with a smile for the remainder of the day. Only negative and this isn't the fault of Turnips themselves was that on the day I went along, I found it really crowded and no real organization about it all. Felt chaotic. BUT I did choose to go during the summer holiday time so kinda my fault. I'd recommend it all in all. Good place to go on a day in London

On my recent trip I tried a couple of oysters, picked up some tinned fish to bring back and went to the duck/anchovy shop to grab anchovy and crab butter along with some little pots of mustards to try. There's really everything here from the most delicious spelt risotto to fresh seafood, paella and lobster. It can definitely get crowded on weekends but that's part of the fun.

I like to pop here sometimes during lunch because towards the back there's a great sandwich and burger bar that's always swarming with people looking for a cheap and tasty bite. The soups are pretty decent too. Prices for a hot sandwich or burger fall between £2-3.

The tricky part about this Farmers Market is that its location switches depending on whether or not there's something going on at the convention centre within Alexandra Palace: if that is the case, the parking lot - where the market typically takes place - is used for its intended purpose and the Farmers Market will be relocated to a nearby school yard. Speaking of birds, I'm a sucker for free range eggs from chickens that roam around in fields. One of the vendors sells "ugly eggs," those with flaws in the shells for 80p a half dozen. Vendors who sell things grown and made locally can have a stall every week, others are only allowed to sell their wares once a month.

They only accept cash so bring plenty or face a ~£2 surcharge at the only near by cash machine in Londis. After eating be sure to wonder around the vast gardens of Alexandra palace and grab a cake at the garden centre nearby. This is my favourite nearby place to bring my dog for walks.

A short walk down the hill brings you to beautiful neighborhoods with cobblestone roads and the huge cathedral. It's a lovely area overall.

The cafe is very popular but not noisy. I am disabled and this shop is a godsend as I cant walk around big shops and supermarkets but I can get most things here.
