Queso is towards the top of the chain "make your own burrito" establishments in my book. Their food is a little different than others and I'm a big fan of their queso, go figure. I've gotten food from here a handful of times, including tonight. I always get the "wet" burrito aka one you have to eat with a fork and knife. For the most part service has been good, a little shoddy tonight but it was a little busy so I'll keep the review at 4 stars. I really don't like how they have you order and pay and wait for your food as opposed to going down the cafeteria line setup and pick things out, I always have to ask questions about what stuff is (my girlfriend has a tomato allergy) and it's not easy to do by ordering from a cashier who doesn't make the burrito. I wonder sometimes if the message is truly relayed. The pictures don't really do it justice, it clearly shifted a bit on the ride home but it all tasted just as good. read more

I was at a Yelp event in the area and looking for a place to grab a bite to eat on the way home. Queso Grill was about five minutes away and right on our route home! The convenience and location were about the only positives for me. We went here thinking it was a restaurant. When in all actuality it was a Chipotle style Mexican establishment. But, it doesn't hold a candle to Chipotle. I ordered a three taco meal. It came with the choice of soft flour or corn or hard shell corn. I always go with the hard shell corn, but what I got was a hard shell, fried flour tortilla. Similar to taco salad shell or a chimichanga. I didn't like the shell at all. I thought maybe I read the menu wrong and that was what it came with. But, afterwards I double checked and it should have came with hard shell corn. Overall, three wasn't much flavor to the salad or toppings. We also got a Burrito, which was better than the tacos. read more

Not a good experience!!!! i came in and ordered carnitas on a corn tortilla with fajita veggies, lettuce, and cheese. I received my food on a flour tortilla which i did not ask for. The veggies had broccoli in then which made me think they were frozen veggies that were placed to heat up. What supposed Mexican place offers fajita veggies with broccoli in them?? My mom ordered steak on a flour tortilla and although she misread the menu, it was not what we were expecting at all. We asked to send it back and the white guy there did offer a redund but was being quite rude about it. after we finished eating, we came back in to get our money back, and the guy just dropped the money on the table. I found this little gem while hiking with a friend! And I'm happy I did. They serve mostly Mexican fast food but they do have other options such as burgers, and gyros. I have only ordered Mexican the two times I've been but I feel ehhh about the idea of restaurants having such a wide spectrum when it comes to the food the prepare. NEVERTHELESS it was pretty darn good! I got the nachos supreme and that is exactly what it was! I placed a catering order for Fathers Day, paid for the steak and chicken fajita bar which I picked up. As I began to serve my party I realized that I was given ground beef from the vendor in lieu of steak. Extremely disappointed, I contacted the vendor as I paid for steak and chicken but was provided no answers. I was told that an employee would drop off same night to me a 50$ gift card which was never received. To this date I havent received any type of reimbursement so I strongly advise that nobody place a catering order from this establishment. Terrible Customer Service Don't get me the wrong, the food is delicious, but the customer service is comically bad. They are almost the Seinfeld Soup Nazi but without the charming personality. Trying to call and get a delivery is very difficult, the people who answer the phones are super unfriendly and borderline mean. Been here twice for lunch as I work up the street so it's close. Got the wet burrito the first time which was good. Second time ordered a burrito bowl and it was essentially just rice and chicken in a bowl. I guess I just assumed that everything in the burrito( guac, sour cream, lettuce, etc) would be included in the bowl. When I got back to work I realized they didn't put a fork in the bag and there weren't any out the restaurant for you to take yourself. Just had a delivery from queso Grill. Ordered the chicken sliders for $9.95 add avocado because they told me I was five cents away from a minimum delivery charge. I added avocado as that was the best option for my purchase and was charged almost 3 dollars extra. On top, I was charged $1.75 for delivery when I was less than half a mile away half a mile at the maximum. When I called queso, they mentioned to me that's just the way they do business and price things out. What a rip off for a loyal customer. I am a nacho and taco junkie and every time I find a new good spot, I fall in love. I ordered the nacho supreme with chicken and loco habanero sauce (warning, if you get this sauce, order it on the side instead) but it was delicious! Will definitely be coming back anytime I'm in jersey. read more

I went to this location with some coworkers on Tuesday, April 7th for lunch. I ordered a burrito, they forgot to add the salsa. My vegetarian friend ordered a veggie burger and sweet potato fries, they put bacon on her burger and served her normal fries. My other friend ordered a turkey burger with fries, they gave him a beef burger and no fries. We sent back the food, and waited about fifteen minutes for the new food to come out. While waiting, I decided to speak to the manager. He said it was our fault, and that we merely switched the burgers up. I told him that's not possible, since none of the burgers were accurate. Ok You don't come here for the "authenticity" of the Mexican food. You come here because it's delicious and the price is right and they're always available. There's a wide variety of options not just on the menu, but options that you can create yourself by customizing the proteins, salsas, form factors of the food etc. The consistent winner for us taste-wise (not health-wise) is the "wet burrito" which we get with either shrimp or chicken or carnitas. We also like the burrito bowl which is all the same stuff, just in the bowl not in a burrito form. For the tacos you can get hard or soft shells (I prefer soft) and get each one with a different filling inside if you wish. They're also pretty consistent with guacamole and chips. They recently upgraded the interior with booths to sit in (before it was hipster-cafeteria style, not great for little kids), which helps. read more

Absolutely bewildering menu - way way way too long. That's because Queso is trying to be every thing to every one - Mexican for those who want burritos or tacos, a salad place for those who want salad, and burger place for those who want burgers - AND Queso wants to offer every type, every variation and every option within all 3 of these categories. When you order, you have to peruse 5 - yes 5 (or maybe it's even 6) - different menu boards behind the cashiers. Not only are there 5 (or maybe 6) menu boards, each board is small-print and crammed with details. They would do well to pare down the options here. That said, the burgers are huge and you can get just about any kind of burger you want, with any topping you want. My husband says the burritos are good, and they are also huge. I have enjoyed every salad I have had here and also the fish tacos. Also, they deliver, which is nice. So it's a good fast food-y type place to drop in or order from for a casual meal, and nice to have in the neighborhood. But be prepared for the SAT examination that the menu is! read more

It's a bit hard to find the first time and the parking lot is a bit small, but you won't focus on that long at all, because the food at Queso, is bomb! I love their wet burrito and the shrimp tacos with their signature cole slaw. The flavor is incredible. The taco salad is also a hit! The younger kid or guy that sometimes answers the phone, needs a new task. He's not friendly and he rushes you off the phone a bit. Other than that, the staff once you arrive is amazing. While Queso is a "quick serve" kind of restaurant I would say the burritos can rival some area restaurants and in many ways are better. The food is always hot and fresh and made exactly how you ask for it (and done right!). There is a great selection of proteins for your burrito or you can try one of their delicious quesadillas (buffalo chicken is a favorite of mine). Their chips and guacamole are great. Fresh, never stale tasting and the salsa that accompanies the chips and guac is really fresh and you get to have both the regular and hot varieties. We have never been disappointed at Queso. Queso is a cross between Chipotle and a burger joint. The food is great but it suffers from an identity crisis. I wish the owners would have picked a better location because it's tucked back in a little strip mall that you will definitely pass the first time you try to find. I've heard from relatives that the burgers are good but for this visit my family settled on the Mexican side of the menu. My wife had the crunchy chicken tacos which were just as described with a good crunch on the shell. My son tried the tortilla soup which was a little spicy for his four year old pallet but filled with shredded chicken and vegetables and reheated well. They have a great kids menu, my daughter settled on the bean burrito with a side of rice and beans. Last I had a smothered chicken burrito filled with rice, beans, chunks of grilled chicken and all the fix'ns. I was very tasty and hit the spot. I will definitely be coming back here for my next burrito or burger fix. read more

Probably one of the worst "so called" Mexican food places in the county. I ordered some nachos to take over to the coffee shop next door. The first order was ice cold. I watched my order sit there on the counter for the ten minutes I waited for it. By the time I got it, it was cold. I'll hand it to the manager on duty. He had them make it again. K. So... Agree with Wendy G. on the menu completely. You can get a $15 salad or a $6 salad depending on what you ask for. The reason chipotle is so successful is that it is so simple - literally 6 or 7 ingredients, all the same price "how you like it." This is something that Queso should consider. I really used to love it here. Unfortunately, not sure what happened since covid but they are totally exploiting the situation in the sense that a taco meant went from $6.95 to $10.95. Everything went up from 4-6 dollars. I am all In strong support of the restaurants. Raise the prices a bit, but 4-6 dollars an item? That's taking advantage! Go with $2 an item for okay Mexican food.
