Looking at a menu it caught me off guard bc they sell Mexican and then burgers. My friend got a burrito that looked amazing. My other friend got chicken fajitas, My husband got a wet burrito which was loaded with stuff on the inside and outside, and I got a buffalo blue turkey burger in a rap. The food was outstanding. Opening Night- welcome to the neighborhood! Well worth the wait for opening day... I had the tacos with shredded beef and my GF had the burrito bowl. Everything was fresh, delicious and fast. Went there for the first time today (they opened yesterday). The atmosphere was very nice and the employees were extremely pleasant. I got the Tomato, Mozzarella & Pesto Quesadilla and it was awesome. The flavors were great and it was plenty to fill me up. I only had 2 things that only slightly bothered me. First, the music was a bit too loud and it was difficult to hear the guy taking my order. And second, when ordering to go they need to be sure to put utensils and napkins in the bag. This recently became a new lunch spot for me. It's in a little strip mall in Lincroft. It's relatively new so the dining room is modern and kind of hip feeling. There is ample seating. When you walk in, you can see the open kitchen that runs along the entire length of the restaurant. Their menu is quite extensive. Kind of a mix of tex mex food and salad bar. They have custom salads that you can pick from the menu or make up whatever salad you want. All the salad items are very fresh and the portions are generous and relatively cheap. I enjoy the salads so much that I haven't tried anything else yet. The burritos and quesadillas seem to be very popular though from what I've seen. Great lunch spot read more

Queso has become one of my all time favorite burrito places, I've probably been there around 30 times, I've only had one bad experience, but I could understand because they had quite a few new employees on that day, but every other time it's been top notch, I highly recommend it every month but august because that when they re staff, but for the most part, when you want a great burrito handled with care and service that doesn't rush you, queso is the place for you. read more

I have been going to Queso pretty much since it opened because I work in the area. The food is usually pretty good and fast. I wouldn't put it on the same level as chipotle tho. But with the lack of Mexican restaurants in the area there not much of a choice. They also recently decided to add some items like hamburgers and sandwiches to their menu. I ordered one of the burgers and while good it took almost 15-20 minutes to come out. Not fun in you only have a half hour lunch. All in all I still frequent Queso once or twice a month when I'm craving some tacos. read more

Don't understand the bad reviews.. Wandered in here after living in the area for 3 years and was treated to a SLAMMIN steak burrito. Not just good.. I said SLAMMIN. The steak wet burrito is my go to item on the menu but I've also tried the quesadillas and taco salad which are equally as good. Service is good considering it's mostly neighborhood kids working in there. Orders taken and food in hand always under 10 minutes. If it wasn't for this place I'd have to drive all the way into red bank for a decent burrito. read more

Since I was dining in it was served on a real plate to my table (after ordering/paying at the counter) with a very attractive plating. Queso is probably my favorite place to be in the entire world. The workers are always super friendly and the food comes out perfect every time. I have one complaint. The parking lot, the parking is awful but once you get over that obstacle, there is nothing standing between you, and whatever you are craving on their menu. They have anything from salad to burgers to burritos. The classic burrito wrap is my personal go-to. I do not know one person who would rather go to Chipotle after having Queso two times. I would like to give a little more than three but not quite four, and this is why. The food is delicious! I will absolutely be going back for a wet burrito. The fries are also very good. The service is what gives it a three. I went on a Friday evening at dinner time which is when I would expect the best servers to be on at a place like this. Not so much. The guy in the kitchen making food had no idea what salsa was spicy and what was not (I have a newborn so spicy food is out right now for obvious reasons). I got my food very quick, but it was soooooo spicy. I asked for a different salsa and he said that was the mild so I was nervous the chicken was spicy. Finally after asking me five times what I want in my burrito, another girl came over and suggested I get the salsa on the side. Thankful for her, bc I enjoyed every darn bite! (Albeit, he put the sour cream inside instead of the side like I asked but that was yummy and I'll do that again). I will go back, but they need to up their employee game. I have been a waitress for over 15 years and have never written a bad review. This being said.... Do not eat here! The staff was young, unknowledgable about the menu, my order was put in wrong, and my food was cold. I can handle all of that....but I was watching the cooks prepare the food. The cooks behind the line wore gloves but never changed them. It would be safer to not wear gloves and at least wash your hands! One cook was pressing raw meat down on the grill with his gloves on. WIthout changing the gloves, he wiped his hands off on his dirty apron then picked up bread, cut it, and made salads. He then went back to the raw meat and pressed it down again and continued to make food. I brought it up to a worker and manager who could have cared less. Being a waitress for as long as I have, I let a lot slide and rarely complain. This is a dangerous place to eat!! read more
