The lake is SUPER low right now. Texas, all around, is going through quite the drought. As low as the lake is, it was still beautiful to go out and experience paddle boarding in the morning before the temp started rising. Not too many people were out on this labor day morning. SUPER relaxing. Everyone was very welcoming and provided you with all of the help and assistance needed. It was $20/hr to rent a paddleboard. Spent the full hour and did a little paddleboard yoga. Great location and high end kayaks! This is right across the water from Sundancer's grill so once you're on the water you can dock your boat and pop in there too. There are other spots to dock your boat/pull it in. I love that you can hook yourself on some of the designated buoys (or another kayak) to rest/float. Parking - plenty Service - the owners here are really knowledgeable, professional and friendly. Boats - they continue to get more inventory... heard a rumor that they will have jet skis! Dibs! My SO and I enjoyed 2 hours on Lake Travis renting a paddle board and kayak with APK! Zack thoroughly showed us spots to check out on Lake Travis and Ellis went through a brief safety reminder before we popped out on the lake. We ended up clipping on one of their 3 buoys and sunbathed! Zack and Ellis were super chill and friendly, APK was easy to find, plenty of parking spaces, check-in was a breeze. Plenty of life jackets (for our fur baby as well) and COMFORTABLE equipment! We will definitely be frequent visitors! read more

First, I'm going to review myself. I give myself a 0/5 starts when it comes to leaving reviews for good companies online. I've had this idea for some time but because I only get ideas and consider them for too long without action, nothing's been done: There should be an International Leave a Review Day so that companies like this and all over the world could strongly benefit from our good intentions. I suggest maybe during fall or winter so people can really sit and write. I promised the owner that I would leave a good review after the great experience he and the staff provided my group, and it took me at least a couple of months. Hey, there's a pandemic going on, so there's half an excuse. We wanted to paddle on the lake and we looked for spots. We were lucky to find this place, nice and humble on a good spot on the lake. We went, we talked and we paddled (without a reservation). The equipment was good and functional (looked new), and the area of the lake looks small, but once you're on the water it's pretty big. It's a great big pool out there and these guys make it easy to get started. We rented paddle boards and also pedal kayak. The parking is no hassle, and free. It's not a crazy popular spot (it may become one) so they're good to visit before the word gets out. It felt good to support a local small business that's offering a great service here. Attention to detail. Care for the customer. Smiles and good vibes. Also, true story: my cousin lost her glasses while walking back from the equipment to the parking area once we were done and the glasses happened to land in the water while crossing the bridge. We tried looking for them in the water but no dice. The owner provided us with a strong magnet and some goggles to try to attract them that way, but no luck at all. My cousin was in tears. It was a depressing night after all the fun on the water. The owner said that he would give it a shot in the AM when the tide tends to roll back. He said he would call us with any good luck if he found them next day. It turns out in the AM my cousin had a call from him. The missing glasses were sparkling out right in the sun on the rocks and with the tide rolled back in the AM, he said. So what did we do? We went and drove back for the glasses the next day, of course. And since we were out there and since it had been a good experience and since he had been a good owner and since it had been a good business and because it was hot outside, well wouldn't you know it? We decided to paddle again. Another glorious hour with our feet dangling down into a Lake Travis water abyss down below. Upon returning back to the cars again, I considered if we should lose something yet again so as to create another excuse to call off sick from work on Monday and return to find some long lost yet found again personal valuable. Well, I was responsible, so I didn't. But the feeling's there. And I intend to return. read more

It doesn't matter if you're a novice or pro, they'll help you out and always give you a run down and answer any questions you have before you head out. You also can't beat getting on the gorgeous water on Lake Travis at this amazing spot. If you've never tried pedal kayaking, this is the place to try it! I've been a few times since they opened, and on top of the awesome experience with their kayaks and paddleboards, they even added a little swimming area with a lily pad. I rented kayaks and paddle boards for 10 adventure hungry teens with different skill levels a few weeks ago. I highly recommend this operator and location. Zach, the owner and his partner were very professional and helpful. The kayaks and paddle boards looked new and very well maintained.
