I was excited to go to a closer location for a blood draw in comparison to my normal long beach location. I made an appointment online beforehand to ensure I did not have to wait a long time. My appointment was at 815am. I checked in at 810am. I signed in, and appeared to be the only one on the sign in sheet to have had an appointment time. My usual long beach location usually has a sign in for walk ins and another sign in for appointment to prevent confusion. Anyways, I asked the lady at the desk regarding the sign in sheet and she said there was only one. I figured they had their ducks in a row. I waited in the very busy waiting area inside. There was also chairs lined up outside for overflow of clients. The lady at the desk rarely called anyone to go up and she was more involved in the email she was sending to her boss in regards to her tardiness than actual patient care. I normally go up to inquire a follow up as soon as my appointment time is up and have not been called but I figured they were busy and gave them some extra time. I waited until 830am and approached the desk. I informed the lady I had an appointment at 815am and was wondering if I am due to be called. She asked if I signed in and I pointed to my sign in with the only appointment time noted, she said she did not see me and I would be the next client to go in. I was already annoyed by this time due to the wait and her not paying attention to the sign in sheet. Bridget was my phlebotomist and she provided wonderful bedside care. She was friendly, apologized for the wait. I requested for a butterfly needle to be used since they always use one on my small veins. She explained that they usually do that as a last resort to prevent skewing of blood results. I just listened but she agreed to assess my veins before making a determination of needle type. In the end, she chose the desired butterfly needle on my desired arm. the draw went smoothly without leaving any issues or bruising. She was wonderful and she is the only reason why I give this place a 4 star review. Otherwise, it would be a 3. I am torn as to whether or not I will be back since they do not seem to be very organized.

Just left this location, my son had a draw a few weeks back that didnt work. So they needed a redraw. When I came back in, they took us back promptly. She was amazingly gentle with my son, and it only took her one try to get blood. My son (2 years old) cried ofcorse. But she was so sweet about it Anyone who can so calmly and nicely deal with kids the way she did deserves all the praises in the world ! (I didn't get her name, but she had curly hair and glasses.)

Gone to this location many times to bring clients. i can say their customer service has improved since the new upgrade. they got rid of the rude young chick that worked in the front. Now everything is upgraded, staff is friendly, clean. it does get really busy so i suggest making an appointment. will return.

Don't go here! Got a hematoma from this place! I couldn't lift anything for two weeks!

I needed a few blood tests that my Dr had ordered and I just decided to walk in on a Wednesday afternoon.

First, let me say this place was amazingly clean, and even had refreshments in waiting area. The young lady at the counter was friendly and professional. You hand them your ID and health insurance card... and the rest is done on your phone.. so easy!!! I don't feel the wait was very long, especially for a weekend at an urgent care. I was seen rather quickly and my entire visit, including X-rays, results, medications and paperwork was just over an hour. I think I take longer at my regular doctor sometimes!!! Everyone was professional, friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. The doctor explained everything to me, they gave me some shots to get thru the day... and I think this was an amazing experience! Highly recommend and will definitely use them again.

Unfortunately, 2 days after visiting, my experience left me frustrated and scratching my head. My main complaint is I was prescribed fluoroquinolone antibiotics (Cipro) for a sting ray sting, without any mention about the well documented risks associated with lasting tendon rupture and collagen matrix disruption. It was only once I'd done my research that I had to call to see if we can switch. One of the PA's (Paula, also exceptional) took my call and even said she was glad that I caught that and did not understand why I was prescribed Cipro when there are much safer alternatives out there. When I had gone in, I was also given a steroid shot to help with inflammation and left in the room for some time. I started to get quite nauseous and felt close to fainting. I had to step outside and call for someone, just to be told "yeah this happens often, forgot to warn you" and "you beat me to checking in on you." What's worse is I came to find out combining fluoroquinolones with corticosteroids (steroid shots) have been documented to a FOURTEEN (14!) FOLD increased risk of tendinopathy and tendon rupture (D. Baggio, M.R. Andana-Rajah, 2021). Why on earth would you combine a fluoroquinolone and corticosteroids? If there are safer antibiotics, why fluoroquinolone alone? The whole experience just feels medically untrained or professionally careless. I'm completely bewildered, and quite frustrated.

I have never had a bad experience at Quest till this morning. This time I came in, I met a young looking Asian staff. The first thing she told me was to stand outside the door and let everyone who was 7:40 appointment come in first..., it. Would've been fine except I'm the only person standing at the front door at 7:30am when they open!!! Unbelievable!!! Then she proceeds to wait for people in the parking lot to come and ask them if they had an appointment, ofcourse the others are walk in like me, so then she yells out "is anyone here with an appointment!??" And one lady gets out of her car and is now running across the lot. And in my mind, I've concluded that she barred me from entrance, wasted 6 minutes, just to get someone who's having an appointment 10 minutes later to "check-in" when they already have an appointment to begin with!!! Unbelievable! I didn't know Quest now has door guard barring people who want to come check in at their electronic kiosk just so they can have their appointment customers check in at the kiosk first. Completely over ruling the first come first to check in common sense. We already know appointments will be served first, not a big deal but why was I held back from entering the building when they opened? I felt like she discriminated against Asians, against mothers who had children, and against those who may have challenges with electronic applications!!! when I was finally allowed in, she continued with telling me that walk ins don't really get seen anytime soon. Later I confirmed it's because a walk in will only be seen if there's no appointment for 10 minutes.... well, if I was allowed to sign in at 7:30am before the first appointment at 7:40 or maybe 7:50, maybe I would've had a chance to be seen right?!?! That's a new policy I didn't know about but I'm certain she made it up. I thought as long as the appointment hadn't arrived we could be seen. Well, now I know. New angry miserable Asian staff door greeter ruined my day. I normally don't care about these things but the way she seemed annoyed with me first thing in the morning and proceeded to treat other customers worst, such as other elderly patients asking for help really makes me want to post this. I watched her tell an elderly person "why are you asking me about your secondary insurance? Read the screen and check it yourself if you have a secondary insurance" and another elderly asked her for help with check in and she said "go there and enter it yourself"... and the poor lady standing by there with her paper referral wasn't sure if she needed the paper or not for check in. Seriously, what kind of self involved millennial did quest let out of their lab here? AI would've been friendlier than this girl. She should be the last person to be assisting a place that has a lot of elderly who need support to maneuver through technology especially with declining eye sight and cognitive abilities. She was simply rude, condescending, and an embarrassment to anyone in the medical field. It's such a compassionate job, and she treats people like morning garbage that didn't get thrown out. I'm ashamed to have such an experience but I even feel worst for the 9 elders I watched check in this morning. It was a disgusting struggle to resist coming over and reading the screen for them. A real shame. I wish I didn't witness this elderly abuse here. I will be making a report and next time taking a picture and video. Every single kiosk check in elderly customer received a snide remark from this youthful looking Asian phlebotomist/nurse/pink scrub individual. I really thought she was just targeting me because I was the unlucky first person. We're all entitled to bad days, or outbursts, but after a while I had to leave cause she made me sick to watch. Her rudeness continued on. Made me realize she's not going to be nice to anyone who shows up here. Some people just want to go and get their labs done, we don't need any greeters, we don't even need a smile, but by no means do we need someone who actively pursues rudeness and throws shade at innocent customers. It was "do it yourself" "why would you ask me about your insurance" "go to the kiosk and look at it" "look on the board and find yourself!" "All of you people need to check the screen for your own name" "don't see it? Didn't see it? Well you know you're not checked in (not my problem anymore angry face with folded arms and eyes rolling)"
