Please make an appointment! I made an appointment for Saturday morning and was in and out in 10 minutes. The waiting room was full, which is pretty common at most quests, so if you can make an appointment, PLEASE do it to be safe and save time. Some people come here and will wait all day to be seen but will be turned away because appointments take priority. I've been to many quests but this was by far the most pleasant experience I've ever had. The staff is really friendly and I had my blood drawn by the nicest man. I am extremely disappointed with how this Quest Diagnostics location in Burbank handled its patient queue and, even more concerning, how management responded when I questioned what I was witnessing. I checked in at approximately 9:22 AM as a walk-in and fully understood that patients with scheduled appointments could be prioritized. I was prepared to wait. Approximately 30 minutes after I arrived, a couple came in. The man signed in on behalf of the woman. I personally heard the tall male phlebotomist who was wearing a mask tell him, "Don't worry, I got you." I then watched the woman go from the standby/walk-in list to the regular check-in list with an appointment time of approximately 11:09 AM. She was subsequently taken before me. Later, another man came in with his mother. His mother had an appointment, but he specifically stated that he did not. I again heard the same masked male phlebotomist tell him, "Don't worry, I'll get you in. I got you." He was also accommodated while I continued waiting. I brought my concerns to two different phlebotomists. Both said they would look into what was happening, but neither came back to me with an explanation. I ultimately spoke with the supervisor. She printed out a check-in list and attempted to explain the order of patients to me, but the information she presented did not reconcile with what I had personally observed happening in real time. At one point, I was also told there were two patients ahead of me, even though I knew one of those patients had already left. I do not work at this location, yet I was able to follow what was happening in the waiting room more clearly than the explanation I was being given. To be clear, my complaint is not simply about having to wait. I understand that appointments take priority and that walk-ins may experience significant delays. My concern is watching walk-in patients who arrived after me receive special assistance, including seeing one patient removed from the standby list and placed onto the regular check-in list with an appointment time after a staff member told them, "I got you." If there is a legitimate Quest policy or system function that allows staff to convert walk-in patients into appointment patients after they arrive, management should have been able to clearly explain that. Instead, I received an explanation that did not match what I had personally witnessed. What concerned me most was the lack of transparency and accountability when I raised the issue. Patients should be able to trust that the queue is being managed fairly and consistently, regardless of which staff member they happen to speak with. I strongly encourage Quest Diagnostics to review the electronic check-in and appointment history from this morning, including any changes made to patient status and appointment times. Those records should provide an objective account of what occurred. This experience left me with very little confidence in how this location is being managed or supervised. read more

I'm in the lobby as I'm writing this. Have a 11:50 AM, got in at 12:20PM. Not only this but the nurse administering my Draws calls out for "Kyle", no last name. The lady was about to administer my draws, to a different person! For paying close to $300, this was the worse experience I could have had. Those people weren't here either, but curious how one gets in that list. So when the tech came out again I asked. She said when I checked in they give you a next available time . Words cannot describe the enshittification at consumer expense of Quest Diagnostics. The parking lot at this location is exorbitant AND it is full. AND it's not ADA compliant. There was no parking on any of the levels with elevator access, the top levels have stairs. I had knee surgery, I can't do stairs. I waited for a spot so long I missed the bloodwork appointment I waited weeks for. It HAS to be done on Day 21 of my cycle and I already waited to day 24 due to availability. And I had to be fasting. I can't keep fasting the fast is only supposed to be 8-12 hours, not 18. I am now just trying to get the Day 21 test done. I am waiting hours on stand-by. Parking is exorbitant. There is no restroom without a code. There is no one to ask for the code. They have closed the customer service reception window at all locations to save them money at patient expense. I had to grab the locked door when another patient left the lab to find a bathroom inside This is unnecessarily difficult, it is untenable. Avoid Quest and avoid this location at all costs. Prefacing this with the staff is not the problem here. They're usually great and as efficient as they can be. But the company is so poorly run that they can't deliver any amount of decent care. They clearly need more offices and staff to be able to accommodate the needs. I don't have any choice to go anywhere else than quest so I'm hamstrung when there's no appointments and the walk in is so long that it's even if you got there at 7 when they opened, you likely wouldn't get seen even after waiting for 4 hours in line. And when you can't do afternoon appointments because you have to fast for your tests, and they have 1 single office in the area that's open on the weekend. What's up with these negative reviews??? I was fearing the worst but to my surprise, I had a seamless and great experience. Yes, check-in involves a kiosk. Welcome to the present. Yes, if you don't have an appointment you may have to wait. Easiest solution--Make an appointment online, show up at the designated time with your insurance card and ID on hand, and you will likely not have to wait long. I arrived before my appointment, was welcomed in after a few minutes, and was out of there in another 5 minutes. My technician, Ida, was lovely. Kind, professional, knowledgeable etc. Facilities including the waiting area Ave bathrooms were clean. The only negative about this location is that trying to find street parking requires patience. The English language does not possess a sufficient description for how awful Quest is. Recently, I took my son for a doctor ordered blood test. We made an appointment well in advance and arrived well before the appointment. The time for the appointment came and went, and then, 45 minutes after the scheduled time, the door opened and the technician called our name; we went to the door, but before we could get there, someone else walked in (whose name had not been called, it was our name that had been called) and the technician let him in and closed the door on us. I knocked on the door several times; finally someone opened and I explained that the person that had gone in was not us and that we were still outside waiting. One would think that once the technician realized that the wrong person had come in, they would have them leave and then bring us in...but that would require common sense and a coherent train of thought. Instead, we were made to wait another 20 minutes outside before finally they reopened the door, and before they could call out anyone's name I said "we're going in." My son sat down for his blood test and I thoroughly reviewed the doctor's order with the technician before she began the test. Several weeks pass and I received a phone call from my son's pediatrician: it turned out that the Quest technician had FAILED to test what was clearly ordered on the FIRST PAGE of the doctor's order and we were told we would have to go back and have my son's blood drawn all over again. No, you aren't losing your mind; I am reviewing a blood lab YET AGAIN. Anyone who follows my reviews is privy to the fact that I have some very serious health conditions/illness and lab/blood work is as common in my life as the sun rising every morning. I've mentioned in a previous review that the two major lab work chains are that of Labcorp and Quest and that Labcorp trumps Quest.  I don't hide my distaste for Quest. Unfortunately, specialists send you to whichever McDonald's of blood labs they work with and patients don't have a say in the matter. So, unfortunately, off I went to a Quest location. One of the only pluses of Quest (I'll get to the second, later) is the ease of online scheduling. Create a profile, pick from the list of locations, select a time, input insurance information and you are set to go. Quest sends both text and email reminders and even has a way to sign-in upon arrival on your phone versus their kiosks (this method began during Covid but is clearly here to stay). If you choose this Quest location in Burbank; be prepared to double and triple check those texts and emails to make sure you're going to the correct lab. Why? Quest is located in the medical park area across the street from St. Joseph's hospital at Buena Vista/Alameda and there are TWO Quest locations in buildings next to each other: this location at 1601 and the second at 1701. I'm sure many patients have visited the incorrect Quest location. Parking here is a circus due to all of the medical buildings but if you are like me: you prefer street parking to save a few bucks. Generally, the streets here are full but I tend to be lucky and find a spot but you need to make use of those parallel parking skills. If that's not your jam; a parking garage is available with a pay kiosk near the entrance to 1601. Like most LA medical offices; Quest still requires face masks so make sure to have one handy. I checked arrived to a rather spacious and clean lobby but with only one row of seating. The secret to Quest (and Labcorp) is to make afternoon appointments. Even with an appointment there will be a wait (and DMV -esque wait for those without appointments); but it is better in the afternoon. Quest should certainly purchase more chairs. I was taken aback to find that the receptionist desk was paneled up so no receptionist on duty AND there was a young male security guard. Yes, a security guard. This kiddo was hovering and speaking to patients as though he was protecting the Mona Lisa at the Lourve! Why in the absolute tar nation is there a security guard?! I have never seen such a thing. Was someone stealing blood?! It was simply uncomfortable and odd. At 30 minutes past my scheduled appointment time of 3pm (so at 3:30); I was called back. I noticed that they converted the boarded off receptionist area to another lab/blood draw room - also weird! I paired up with Marietta for my blood work. And let me tell you: no bueno, Marietta. First of all, Marietta has no bedside manner and is super curt coming off like the strict teacher in your high school no one liked. She proceeded to open needle syringe caps with her mouth and spit them on the floor. I can't even make this stuff up! Marietta never asked me which arm I prefer pricked which has ALWAYS been asked of me at the 32489437987943 other blood draws I've had.  She chose the right arm when it is my left arm that has an easier accessible vein and I am right handed so I prefer that arm left alone. Marietta then scrutinized and scolded me for Quest billing me for previous work even though my Medi -Cal was covering it. I told her that I had already called the doctor and they were working to clear it but she yelled at me AGAIN. I repeated that I already did my part! Why was I being yelled at?! If this wasn't bad enough, Marietta didn't do a good job at poking me as I instantly swelled into a blue bump that was in excruciating pain into the next afternoon despite icing it.  This eventually started to be tinged with purple and didn't start to let up until 6 days later (see photos). Yikes bikes! The only other positive of Quest was the billing customer service phone rep whom I called directly bypassing my doctor to try to solve that billing issue. She was patient, kind and helpful. I don't recommend Quest at all; but this location is certainly to be avoided unless you like hovering security guards acting like they are protecting the president, if you enjoy being yelled at and if you like swollen, blue, painful arms. Doesn't sound fun? Then do not visit this Quest location (again, most Quest locations are poor but this was really something horrific). read more

Great place, easy to schedule an appointment online. It's hard to find free parking on the street, but if you park in the parking garage it shouldn't be too much. The place is clean in the waiting area and the back. The people who help me are always nice and they appear to be working rather hard/fast. Even though there might be a handful of people in the waiting area, it never takes that long to get called in. They have TVs in the waiting area too and lots of space so it's cool. On October 18th, I had an extremely frustrating experience at the 2601 Alameda location. My doctor advised me to get my lab work at the 501 S. Buena Vista location. When I arrived, they only had standby checking available. Another lady and I waited for 15 minutes, during which time the technician came out three times to inform us that the standby patients would not be seen. As a result, I had to go to the dreadful 2601 Alameda location, where I faced a horrible experience. I arrived at the Alameda location around 4:12 p.m. and was put on standby. Around 4:50 p.m., a patient arrived late for their appointment. The lab technician told the late patient they could not be seen because they were late, and five appointments were still pending. However, the screen showed only three appointments and two standby patients (me and another lady). As only five people were in the waiting room, the other standby patient and I assumed we would be seen. Around 5:05 p.m., a technician came out and rudely told us we would not be seen. She claimed that she had informed the standbys around 4:30sh p.m. that they would not be seen, and if they chose to wait, it was at their own risk. However, this information is untrue. During my wait, she never came out to inform us. Indeed, signs indicate that the office closes at 5 p.m., but your staff's condescending communication with the patients is unacceptable. The technician indicated they did not have time to communicate with the patients. If they do not have enough time, they should restrict it to appointments only and not allow standby patients. The technician's insensitivity, rudeness, and lack of professionalism were unacceptable. Although I waited close to an hour, the other standby patient waited for two hours. I will ensure that my doctors are informed about this location, and I expect them to take appropriate action to ensure that they do not recommend this location so that no one has to go through what we have to face. read more

She gives the worst customer service and just blatantly argues with you and puts you down. Staff hates their job and act miserable. Quest Diagnostics does not care about customer service or ease for the customer. I made an appt for my 84 year old Dad to have lab work done. I never received a confirmation and there is no way at all to talk to a human being to confirm or ask any questions. Not a good sign. The techs that work here are very nice but even when I tried to have them check to make sure they received the order from the Dr's office, they wouldn't. This would have avoided a lot of grief because as it turned out, they didn't have the order from the doctor's office. The fax number on their website is incorrect and I had to call the doctor's office three times to get everything straightened out, and this was while we waited. They were courteous to let us wait and to keep checking the fax machine. Finally my Dad gets his blood drawn, but at the end, the phlebotomist didn't put the bandage on tight enough and he got blood on his shirt. She was very nice, but seeing blood on my Dad's shirt just broke my heart. I could cry again when I think about it. Ugh. They need to use that wrap that goes around the arm a few times, and they don't. Everything is automated and they have done everything they can to save money on staff and it shows. LAME! I had a great experience here getting a blood test done. We walked in without an appointment and even though there were several people waiting outside, we were taken in within 30 minutes! The real star of the visit was Anahit, who drew my blood. I'm usually very nervous when it comes to having my blood drawn, but with Anahit, she made me feel comfortable and took all my nerves away. She was calm, professional, and incredibly gentle. I barely felt a thing. I definitely won't be nervous next time with this experience. Honestly one of the best blood test experiences I've ever had.
