Overall, a simple visit with a little glitch. I showed up to my appointment time for a prepaid urine and blood test. There's not a receptionist in the lobby, you just check in on a tablet, and have a seat. It does say on the TV what number in line you are. You can also wait i outside if you want, and they will text you. When I first got there, there was only one person working. When she came to the door to let a person in, I asked her if I could use the restroom. She let me use the restroom, but didn't bother to ask me if I was there for a urine test. When my number was called, I went back, and yes, I had to use the restroom again, but she told me she couldn't use my urine test. She said I had to wait an hour, to make sure that my urine was the right concentration. Excuse me? Why didn't she tell me this when I asked to use the restroom? I had to go, but I could've waited the few minutes. I rescheduled my appointment, came back a few days later, and I got in a little less than 10 minutes after my appointment time. No big deal. The lady who took care of me was very friendly and personable, she laughed at my jokes,(that's important... :) and I was in and out in just a couple of minutes. Once I got everything done correctly, it was great. But if somebody is in the lobby, asking to use the restroom, ask them if they are there for a urine test.... If I could give 0 stars I would. This is the 2nd time I made an appointment in advance, checked in to kiosk and followed directions. I sat outside in my car waiting for a text or call to come in for my appointment. 30 minutes passed. I went in and was told they called and texted me but I was now past 20 minutes from my appointment so all I could do was walk-in list. I showed staff there were no calls or text messages on my phone and explained this happened before as they had the wrong phone number. I got no resolve from staff or acknowledgement to look into the flawed system. I'll look elsewhere for future labs. read more

My wife and I had our lab work done here at the Quest Gold River location and we were really satisfied with everything this Quest location had to offer! Around 15 minutes before our appointment time, we get text messages that allow you to check in while in your car. There's still a tablet at the reception area for check-ins, but I find the text message check-ins really convenient. We entered the reception/waiting area and it did not even take more than 10 minutes before my wife was called in, and a minute later for me to be called in. My phlebotomist was really great! A cheerful greeting to start, and smile to carry on through the procedure. Nikki made a somewhat scary ordeal into something light and enjoyable (of sorts)! She was very good with the needle...light to the touch in spite of me having "baby" veins. All in all, I was there for about 15 minutes or so for the process. This location has a lot of great phlebotomists. They are efficient and friendly. If you have labs needing to be done, this place will not disappoint. read more

The facility is clean, the kiosk check-in was easy, but be careful using this facility if you have Original Medicare. Before you can get your blood drawn, they ask you to sign a disclaimer stating that some of your tests may not be covered by Medicare and that you will be responsible for the charges. For years when my PCP had ordered tests, they were always covered as "Medically Necessary" so I thought everything would be fine. When I got a bill for $125 that Medicare had denied, I called Medicare. I was told that due to the PCP's ICD 10 code used to request the tests, not all were covered. My only option was to Appeal the denial TO THE PROVIDER (PCP) that ordered the testing as LAB CLAIMS cannot be re-submitted to Medicare for reconsideration and you are only entitled to a Credit with the provider, NOT a refund from Medicare. Getting a copy of a referral from a SUTTER ordering physician is impossible. So there you go.... you can't check what they've ordered until you get the bill. read more

Terrible service. I have yet to have a successful appointment with Quest. Today my daughter scheduled her appointment. We arrive 15 minutes early signed into the computer system. My daughter was called into her appointment. Quest received the order but since my daughter could not remember the exact name of the doctor on the order request they would not receive her to take blood. Talk about nut case! So she remembers her primary doctors name but not her pharmacists. So when Quest receives the order they do not file the patients name but the requesting doctors name? Extremely incompetent! I could add photos of the order but it would violate HIPPA laws. read more

Avoid this lab. My wife and I were visiting in the area and she was sick. Dr. requested a sample and test run. This was on a Thursday. By the following Tuesday there were no results and Doctors office found out that Quest shipped the sample 400 miles to test it near our home. And they said they only test on Tuesday thru Saturday. On Wednesday the doctor got the results and was told they didn't run the test the doctor asked for. They ran other tests and claimed they didn't have a large enough sample to run the test the doctor wanted. So, Quest made my wife suffer for a week and didn't run the specific test the doctor ordered and didn't notify us that the sample wasn't large enough. Total failure!! Never going here or any other Quest again. read more

Very rude and don't care about patience. Had an appointment at 8 AM to bring back samples. Somehow the computer didn't check me in properly and put me as a walk-in waited almost 2 hours. I made an appointment online for 9 am. When I arrived the appointment was not in their system. I tried to speak with an employee there, but everyone is extremely unhelpful. A woman came in and had a language barrier. She asked someone for assistance. She was told no. They would not help or explain to her how to schedule an appointment. It was so frustrating and upsetting to watch. She left before I could offer to help her. Customer service does not exist here. It's really sad. read more

Run by Incompetent people. They do not track records or scan papers from doctors. They do not pay attention to any details and are a waste of time. Doctor ordered three blood tests, but they were unable to do any after the first because there was no physical paper. They took the paper and were suppose to scan it. They were unable to complete any more blood test due to not scanning the paper they took. This place is a joke. No wonder why healthcare is a joke. They can even follow simple procedures and perform the tests requested my doctors. Do not waste your time with this place if you have to have multiple blood draws. Definitely make an appointment.. cause I got here at like 7:45am and got seen about 1:10pm now.. they seem to skip over the walk ins.. they should take a walk in every now and then but they don't.. I was 3 on the list out of 11 walk ins...and most of them walked out cause they couldn't wait 2 hours so I got moved to number 1...and they should have a bathroom in the waiting area but they don't and they should have a wait time on the waiting list..I didn't get the girls name but the girl who drew my blood was awesome and I was in and out in a few minutes...after I got called in...so definately make an appointment read more

The customer service here is non-existent. No receptionist. The technicians seem to have difficulty finding a vein, every time. The kit for a stool sample had no label, so I was forced to write my information on the small collection bottle with a sharpie. They lost my appointment in their system. I think this is a new Quest Diagnostics location...it's next to the Rubio's at the Bel Air shopping center. I tried this Quest a couple weeks ago for an annual wellness screening for work. I had an appointment and was in and out in about 20 minutes. The lobby was really clean and they had kiosks/tablets where you can check yourself in. I would give this place 5 stars except some of my coworkers got their wellness screenings done the day before at this same location. Even though they had appointments, the staff let walk-in patients go ahead of them in line. They ended up waiting around for 40 minutes. Nonetheless, this will be my go-to location for these screenings based on my positive experience. read more

Quest has the worst automated system service and there is no way to get a hold of someone on the phone to schedule an appointment. Only use Quest as a last option. The automated system is lengthy and over-explains information unrelated to most common calls people would make. The worst part about the automated system is that it doesn't recognize variations in tone of voice and can't decipher accents. I have lived in the united states for 31 years and speak very well English with the MINIMALIST of accents. Yet, this effing automated system can't get anything right. Event when I phonetically spell out each letter, as the automated system suggests, it still does not recognize the spelling of the first / last to make an appointment. This was the most frustrating experience I have ever had with an Automated System. Quest is better off turning the damn automated system and simply asking people to go straight to the website... instead of wasting almost an effing hour trying to schedule an appointment. After Reading reviews for other Quest Diagnostics locations I was pretty worried about the service my pregnant wife would receive untill we found a location close to us house less than 5 minutes away in Gold River.. I can saw for a fact all worries are gone they staff here are beyond the best very nice and informative clean place love the environment in waiting room everything is clean and professional seats are comfortable . Unfortunately I didn't get the name of the lady who took my sons blood test today but she was a pro! Had a very positive experience. My son is only six months and I know it's hard to find a vein in a little arm like that. We tried a different location the day before, there were 4 attempts with no luck to find the vein, but the lady at this location was so quick I was pleasantly shocked:) If you have little ones this is the best place to go!) The phlebotomist who drew blood from me was a blonde lady. She was awesome during the appointment. I ended up bruising the next day but overall, it was still a good experience. Quest would get 5 stars because of her. I'm knocking 2 stars off the overall experience due to a terrible and rude male front desk personnel. Lets just call him "QuestMan". I don't know if he is also a phlebotomist but he seemed to be going back and forth with talking to people in line and doing something inside. My comment and feed back is for his behavior which I did not like. He was Caucasian, with glasses and short hair and/or a receding hairline. While he might have been stressed, he was quite rude to 2 Hispanic people/families. One lady was in line, registered online and did have an appointment. Due to a screw up with the Quest online system, she ended up waiting 10 mins past her time even though her name was not called and she was physically present. "QuestMan" was rude to her stating she was over 10 mins late when indeed she had been waiting for almost 20. I know because she got there before me. If this was the only incident, I would put this down to maybe he was just impatient. Then another hispanic gentleman who walked in without an appointment. He also received the same treatment from "QuestMan". He didn't speak much English and "QuestMan" was very curt and impatient speaking louder in English when the man only understood Spanish. There were 2 other hispanic patients who ended up translating for him. I think your front desk personnel (who might moonlight as phlebotomists or vice versa) need to either be bilingual or at least show some compassion. People do not go to quest for a picnic. Its stressful to be there to begin with. It would be nice if "QuestMan" or people like him in his position would be a little more understanding. Being impatient or rude, singles out people and one can argue that its borderline racist, or being rude when the patients don't speak English. Remember there are other options besides Quest. You need customers as much as we need quest. Please fix this and ensure your personnel undergo some kind of reprimand and sensitivity training. If "QuestMan" was a phlebotomist then he shouldn't do double-duty and act like a customer service rep as he sucks at it. Please fix this. read more

This draw station has twice annoyed me. I brought my husband and I in to have lab done. I liked the admission qiosks. Made it easy. It went down hill from there. Hubby had a good experience. I waited and waited. I turns out that my paperwork was shredded as extra papers for hubby. It took two times to fax replacements. An hour and a half to get service. Today I came in and signed in. The employee came back to tell me I would need to pay a 600.00 bill before they could do my labs. I told the employee that the insurance ( Medicare and AARP United Healthcare) was with the other shredded paperwork. Now I have to follow up with their billing office to bill my insurance for a refund to me. I am keeping my fingers crossed that I get my refund. read more

I am writing this review to inform you about one incredible staff member that you have. Her name is Avneet. I would like to let you know that she is an amazing blood taker and person. Usually when I would go to do my blood tests, I would be nervous since I always have problems with nurses and others finding my veins. Avneet, however, was incredible. She found my vein in less than a second. No pain, no nothing. Besides that, she was also extremely courteous, respectful, and helpful. I had to give a lot of blood that day and she helped me get through it all. She made sure I was comfortable and was always cautious about how I was feeling. Love this Quest location. It's in Gold River, a nice, fairly upscale community in Rancho Cordova. The lab is located in a shopping center with Bel Air, Jack's Urban Eats, and Rubio's to name some. This location is always very clean, quiet, not crowded and easy check in. Staff are friendly and personable, I appreciate how smooth the operations are at the Gold River location. Having gone to a number of Quest locations in the past, this one is my favorite. Abundance of parking near the lab and or through the plaza. If the staff needs to contact your physicians office, they do so very swiftly in hopes of not creating a wait time. I arrived on time for my appointment, the screen said I had a five minute wait, but the staff called me name within two minutes of my being there. Definitely going to try and make this location my main one, if they have the availability when I need to have labs drawn. read more

I have been to this lab three times and the check in system is terrible and the customer service is terrible as well. I arrived at 12:51 pm, did a self check in with my phone number, at it told me it would be about a 7 minute wait. Because of COVID I chose the wait outside and text me option. 12:58 passed, 1:03 pm passed. 1:10 pm pass and finally 1:20 pm passed and no text. I decide to look inside and there is only one person inside. I stand in front of the check in and the female behind the desk did not acknowledge me, continued to talk to a coworker and another employee finally decided to ask me for some help. I told her what happened and after about 5 minutes I was able to start my appointment. In fact, while I was waiting in the waiting room a young woman said that had checked in at 12:30 pm and I had seen her waiting right outside the entrance. She also said that she checked in and had not been called so it was not just me whose time was wasted. read more

The ease with making an appointment, getting right in, the proximity to my home are the things I love about Quest Lab. NOT today, I left upset. I was refused service unless I paid $14 the receptionist claimed was overdue. Had a billing dispute with them a few months back (they did not honor the amount allowed by my insurance even tho contracted), I assumed the $14 they were holding me HOSTAGE for was from that dispute. I did not want to pay until I knew what the $14 was for, however was FORCED to. Turns out I did owe the $14 for a more recent visit. The invoice is dated 3/7/19 (less than a week old, probably received 3/11), yet I was ACCUSED of being overdue. VERY EMBARRASSING in front of other customers, made to feel like a CRIMINAL. If the receptionist can see a bill due, why can't she see my EXCELLENT pay history, and treat me appropriately? read more

Waited for an hour, just so they told me I don't have any test ordered. They have waiting times posted on the screen, and it looks like a short wait at first. Mine was 4 min posted for the first 10 min, then bumped down to 10 min posted for a while, then up to 8 min. You never actually know how long the wait is. read more

Employee Jennifer (receptionist that day) kept putting off my appt due to a doctor order error, that was not fixable for a few items on my bloodwork order. I then complained about the 30 minute wait to the gal taking my blood because i was upset (her name was Liya.) Jennifer overheard and proceeded to stomp into the room, started talking rudely (constantly repeating herself of why she did what she did) and started to taunted me: she stood in front of the drawing chair i was in so i had no where to go, gesturing intensely with hands nearly touching me, telling me to "calm down" when i was calm, just stating my frustration with how things were handled. I asked her to leave several times since she wasn't even doing the blooddraw and she kept saying ok but wouldn't walk away. She then proceeded to lie to her fellow staff about my order and how i declined to do other portions that could be done. Jennifer does not deserve to work here and has horrible customer service ability and is completely incompetent when it comes to handling work and people. I will be reporting her to quest. I have never seen anything this inappropriate in my life. Liya managed to at least talk with me professionally about what happened and apologized like any normal person would.
