The staff is lovely but the system is completely broken. Cant get an appointment for more than a month in the morning when the test is required. Then the website went down. Tried waiting after fasting for 24 hours as a drop in. 4 hours listening to Quest ads on repeat in the lobby how Quest is EASY AND CONVENIENT. BRING EARPLUGS!!!!! I arrived for my appointment to find the place closed, with others waiting outside. Waited a few minutes past my time, but it stayed closed, so I left. No update or notice from Quest about the closure. Seeing the reviews, I'm glad I didn't have to endure the hassle of a full appointment. read more

When I think about places like Quest Diagnostics, I think about how they are connected to their larger corporations. I'm not sure about the other reviews, but I have definitely considered the difference between my experience with Quest as a corporation versus the location that is in the Safeway. I would give the Safeway location five stars. But I would give the corporation two stars. Thus, the 4-star review--mainly because of the staff I interacted with. The problem with Quest as a corporation is that it's very hard to get into a location as a walk-in patient because they're severely understaffed AND it is extremely difficult to speak with a live person over the phone. I hope anyone reading this will grant a little grace to the people who work here because of that. In addition, there is no way to get through to a local location to ask a question or tell them that you are running late for an appointment. Halfway there I realized I left my paperwork at home. I knew this would affect my appointment but I couldn't talk to anybody at the actual location to let them know. I called the 800 number and was on hold for quite a while until I reached someone that I could speak with. But that person wasn't local. So I had to fumble through figuring out if I could still make it to the location for a later appointment. They told me that the scheduling system hadn't been working and that they didn't know if all locations accepted walk-ins, however the location I was originally scheduled at did accept them and currently there was a 5-minute wait time. I decided to take my chances and drive to my original appointment location. The office is at the back of a Safeway next to the pharmacy. Upon entering, you need to check-in at an automated kiosk. There were already several people in the waiting room and the waiting room is small. They have some chairs turned up so you don't sit right next to someone, but it's impossible to socially distance because of the size of the waiting room. You have the option to wait for your appointment outside and receive a text when they're ready for you. But I didn't want to risk missing my appointment so I stayed in the office. Since I was late, the system said I had to check-in as a walk-in, which was fine by me. Later, when I was talking to the phlebotomist, I found out that I was lucky to make it in when I did because walk-in appointments may or may not be seen due to volume. For instance, a lady who walked in that morning had to wait one hour. And then her doctors office had not sent in the paperwork so they had to contact her doctor's office, prolonging her appointment even further. (Pro tip: make sure you have paperwork in hand or your doctor's office has sent the order in). Luckily for me, they had a no-show so I was able to take that slot and bypass the walk-in wait. The phlebotomist was cheerful, talkative, and informative--something that so often seems to be missing from healthcare because of overwork, underpayment, and employees being stretched thin. I really appreciated her demeanor and attitude. All in all, it was a good visit. Next time I will remember my paperwork and come early! read more

don't recommend this center to anyone. especially seniors pls don't come when u r fasting 1. unfriendly staff, they can be idle but wont take your samples ahead of time. if you said you are fasting they say everyone comes fasting here. made me wait 1 hr although 0 patients ahead of me 2. i scan a qr code and give the test, still they didnt upload results due to some goof up and didn't bother to inform me 3. no direct number to reach them and ask what happened to my test results worst customer experience read more

This is my second attempt this week going to a Quest Lab. The first I had an appointment for multiple blood tests. Even though it allowed a longer appointment I was sent away because it would conflict with their lunch time (Bellevue location). I went to this Kirkland one the next day as a drop in. I got there before it opened. The door was unlocked to the waiting area and the door to the lab area was open. The website says it opens at 8. There were at least a dozen people there with and without appointments. No one showed up. We waited until 845. Then the website updated that they won't open until 10. There were people there will booked appointments for 8;10 and 8:30. My issue is with Quest mgmt. The phlebotomists are always great and o think usually overworked. The Quest website is terrible as it lets you book times that are actually not available because they aren't open. Don't assume you will actually get your test done even if you book an appointment. read more

These days it's very hard to be a brown man and ask question, you'll get all kinds of disrespect. "That old there" Very bad and Terrible experience mean , and unprofessional staff, i was asking for a specific test that i need for myself, but the old lady there was too mean to me didn't show any kind of respect. read more

I've had blood test here twice now. It is a great low cost way to manage my health. For only $29 + $6 "doctor fee" I can get a complete blood count (CBC) test. I get the result the next day. It is much harder and more expensive to get a blood test through my doctor. The doctor only has time to try and help when you are sick, I use Quest to fine tune my health. I was on the anemic side and I want to test each month if I am getting my iron levels back up. Also I am borderline high A1C blood sugar and I want to test every two months if my diet and exercise level is helping. My doctor does not have the time for this level of testing. This is a no frills establishment. Only 1 person on duty the first time I went, 2 were there the 2nd time. These are the people who take your blood sample - there is to receptionist there to explain things to you. You need to make the appointment ahead of time through the app/website. A negative is my AT&T cell barely gets coverage at the back of the 85th street Safeway store so I need to walk to the front of the store to interact with the Quest Diagnostics app. I can still get texts (after you check in they text you when they are ready to take your blood sample) read more

It is remarkable that this place is in business today - if I could give no stars, I would. I usually give the benefit of the doubt and consider that everyone has a bad day - but there is a pattern here that is inexcusable. The only thing worse than their phone maze is Debbie's attitude and expertise in the lab. Several weeks ago, my doctor sent me here for three tests. When I came in, the lab technician (Debbie) didn't know how to do the test - and asked me to have the doctor call and clarify. After weeks of my doctor attempting to call, I spent an entire day calling, holding and pleading for someone at Quest to tell me the phone number and options my doctor needs to use to speak to the lab person in Kirkland. After speaking to "Mel", she looked up the lab co-supervisor (Leo), emailed him - who called me back and gave me his cell number. The next day, the doctor and supervisor spoke and clarified the tests. Or so they said... Debbie needed to complete two tests today and made a point of commenting that I "...spoke to her boss". And then it gets worse... Not sure how to complete the test ordered by the doctor (and clarified by the doctor - per her request), Debbie resorted to google for instructions. Yes - Google.com. She didn't consider calling Lou or the doctor or post-poning (again) - but Google. After reading who-knows-what, she decides she is now educated about how to complete the test. She misses my vein several times and cared less of the pain and bruising she caused by grinding the needle around inside my arm. When she finally hits the vein, I suggest that she fill the vials for the second test too. Her response was a look as if I insulted her and a short comment that 'no, I will draw from your other arm'. And, you guessed it, as she is grinding into my other arm, she profoundly says 'I guess I should have used the first...' I have little confidence that the tests were completed correctly or that the results will be useful. I am calling my doctor to let him know - and, since he sent me there, he can deal with them. I may call Lou - but it's a waste of more of my time - and I have no plans - ever - of ever stepping foot in another quest lab. This place is a joke and is a poster child of what is wrong with healthcare. read more

Got a huge amount of blood drawn here and I look like I got beaten up. No tube was used so each of the 12 tubes were jammed on to the needle in my arm to the point that I wanted to scream in pain. My arm has had several huge and tender bruises for over a week. I am currently sitting in here trying to return a 24 Hr urine test. I apparently have to just wait with everyone else because they can't seem to pay more than one person at a time to be here. This is my 3rd visit and there's only been one employee each time I've been here. The room is full of angry people and the phone is ringing off the hook. Stay away! read more

I went to this lab to get my pregnancy gestational diabetes test and had a very poor experience. I had an 8am appointment and a brunette woman was checking in another client as I arrived so she told me to sign in and wait. Shortly after that, she took that client into the back. I did not see the woman (or anyone else) until 20 mins later. At this point I'd been waiting 25 mins (and was fasting for 12 hours... and pregnant). She then called me up and just generally seemed unconfident and confused. She asked me a few questions that made no sense, then took me into the back. To my shock, this slow and confused woman was actually who was going to be drawing my blood three times that morning! I gave her the benefit of the doubt and asked her "so, are you holding down the fort all on your own today" she told me that someone else would be coming on at 9am. She also said "I told myself... I can do this... but that last client really threw me off" WHAT?! Why to instill confidence in someone before you stick a needle in their arm multiple times. She then attempted to stick me... and missed. Wasn't even close. She told me she was going to get someone else because she'd only been doing this a year! Then another woman came to draw my blood. She was professional and I made sure to have her do all my draws for the test. I have no idea why this woman wasn't doing all the blood draws to begin with so I wasn't left spending over 30 mins in the waiting room. While I was sitting in the back waiting area waiting for my next draw, I kept hearing someone having these huge coughing fits - I'm talking emphysema level coughing. I had assumed it was just a sick patient but I later realized that this was yet another technician! I cannot believe someone would come into work in the medical field in that condition. The woman later came and used the bathroom that was right next to my chair, and the walls were thin so I clearly heard her use the bathroom, flush and just walk right out the door! She walked across the room and used some hand sanitizer. Better than nothing, sure, but not in lieu of washing your hands - especially when you sound deathly ill and are drawing people's blood! I made an appointment to take my drug test ar 9am. When I got there and signed in at 8.50am there was one person in a waiting room. He signed in before me, but i could cleary tell from the notes on the "sign in " paper that he did not have an appointment. There was nobody the the reception desk. At 9am a dark hair asian woman showed up at the reception, looked at the "sign in" chart and said to a guy: "now its your turn." No recognision of neither my presence nor my appointment time. I thought the whole point of making an appointment is that I get to be seen AT THE TIME of MY APPOINTMENT and not to find out that the person who didnt have an appointment but signed in before me get to be seen first. Celena showed up about 9.05am and took me in for my test. She was good, and made the whole experience better. But seriously, it's just a simple courtesy to acknowledge a person (in an uncrowded room) who made an appointment. I would have settled for any explanation of why he has to take a test before me. But no, that woman didnt' do neither that nor apologised. read more

If I could give them negative stars, I would. Their billing policies are unconscionable. If you use them as an out of network client ( which I did through a physician mistakenly referring me to them), they will charge you at least double what an in network provider pays. The will show no flexibility on adjusting the price, or in setting up a payment schedule. They are totally inflexible in their policies, and must enjoy sending out unpaid invoices to sleazy collection agencies rather than being reasonable and ethical. To be clear, I am not addressing their lab work, only their administrative policies and complete lack of empathy. If I have a choice in labs, I will only use ones in which I have respect for their policies and behavior. Quest fails miserably in the human factor. read more

Every time we get tested here we are ushered in without a wait and out again very quickly. The attendant is always very personable, cheerful, and is an expert with the needle. No ouch! Some of the reviews on here must be for a different lab. read more

A year ago I had some tests run, paid for them with a credit card. Submitted the report to my insurance company. My insurance co repeatedly contacted Quest for further information. No reply was ever received. I contacted Quest repeatedly, the latest response today said they have no record of me. Quest was the only place my employer had chosen for a urine drug test (I was in a hiring process) I made an appointment online which I was able to input specifically the reason for my visit. I had reserved a zip car for three hours just incase it might take long. When I arrived at Quest I told the front desk lady (blond hair) I was coming in for a drug test, she stated "oh we don't do drug test on weekend" and I told her it didn't specifically said that online when I made reservation, she said " Oh you'd be suprised that happens all the times" She did not apologized to me, I told her that they should do something about it and she did not acknowledge me, basically it is whatever it is. I wait for 15 minutes didn't see anyone at the front desk. I heard a voice say that she will be with me in a moment. I didn't see they were serving any patient. After my blood draw the printer for printing barcode label broken, no barcode label. The person who draw my blood said she would hand write my name on the specimen tubes than affix barcode labels after the printer is fixed. Five days later, I receive a letter from Quest Diagnostics saying the my specimen is unsuitable for testing and asked me to recollect my blood samples. I do not think that my blood sample is unsuitable for testing. I beliene my blood samples were handle recklessly and irresponsibly. I would not want to go back to the place again. How do I know the results of my test is accurate? read more
