Today is 11/5/2025. Quest Diagnostics Merced under financial duress and tried to shake me down for $168 to draw blood for a PSA Prostate Cancer Screen test. The lab technician told me not covered by Medicare and I can decline or get billed. I left room to verify Medicare indeed does cover. There's a bald technician who was rude and impeded my return to let technician know that my insurance will cover. I told him the room number. I was escorted to lab room by tech herself and I reminded her to go ahead and bill Medicare because website says PSA covered. I don't have to pay! read more

Local clinic for you to do your blood draws and labs. I think this branch is relatively clean, but the self check-in process can be a little confusing for folks, especially if it's their first time and even more so if English isn't their first language (which is a huge patient population for Quest in this area). However, they recently started having a person who's assigned to help you check-in. If they're not already in the waiting room, they'll wait to see if you struggle first before they come out for your assistance (or maybe there's a button on the screen for you to ask for help? Not sure. Never needed help checking in) Sometimes if the standby list is short, I would recommend just getting on the standby list. It generally moves pretty fast, as long as the appt line isn't super long and if they aren't understaffed. Otherwise, make an appt on the kiosk and come back later. Or better yet, DOWNLOAD THE APP and set an appt for yourself to avoid all the nonsense mentioned previously. The phlebotomists are hit or miss; mostly the staff are great but there is the occasional person who can take a couple classes on compassion and bedside manners. Regardless, I come in for a regular blood draw every 3months. My wait time can vary greatly. But always when I get seen and make it to the back, I'm served pretty quickly. Make sure you bring a face mask when you come! There can be a lot of people in the small waiting room and you may be surrounded by a bunch of sick or coughing people. read more

My first review was for the lab on G street, one star max, period. The second trip to 13th street just now was a FIVE STARS due to AMAYA. Keep that girl. Friendly, pleasant, knowledgeable, and she is SO good, you don't feel a thing. My first review is as follows, wish I had noted her name, cost me $800 of phone: I have had my blood pulled here countless times, no problem. This time, omg. She stabbed me so hard I yelped, and when she bandaged me, she pulled the tape so tight that the pad, that is SUPPOSED to lie flat on where she needled poked me to prevent blood from flowing out, was bunched up. I was walking out, I was in the lobby trying to put my phone in my purse and I noticed something dark had spilled on the dark navy fabric. Guess what? It's my blood, just flowing away, down my arm, into my purse, onto the floor. Someone in the lobby helped me pound on the door to get help, the manager, I think, directed me back to the same girl, I should have refused, who tried to clean up the mess with those tiny wipe. She rebandaged me, at mt request, I had to ask, and that was even worse, my skin is folded up on itself. I'm old but golly gee, girl. I finally said, "Enough!" and left her for the bathroom where wasn't any paper towel, only TP to clean up with, then left madder than a hatter, having to hold my hand on top of the bandage flat against my skin on the way home. My purse is in the wash, thank God it's fabric and not leather or Quest would be replacing it. Stay away from room 7. read more

Terribly rude staff... They are REALLY sour towards the people that are on the 'standby' waiting list. I wasted almost 3 hours waiting before I finally got the message that I wasn't going to be seen, even being number 1 on the standby list. The new remodel is AWFUL, there is no front desk person or anyone to help you. It's literally just a room with tablets and no workers available. They hide behind a door with a door code, so you can't even go look for an employee and the only restrooms are behind the locked doors so god forbid you need to use the restroom. Watching the older population try to work tablets with no employee assistance is heartbreaking to watch. I found out I urgently needed blood work the day of or else I would have thought about making an appt. so I left and got my bloodwork done at Mercy Medical Center within 30 mins. I went there to get a test kit . Everything in this place is automated. So you can't just walk in and pick up a test kit. You're sitting there in pain and agony trying to find out what is wrong with you they don't care. They also have no bathroom in the waiting room while they have you wait a 100 years. They obviously don't care . They may have a nice new facility but it is cold and unyielding. It's all about the $$$$$ and treating people like sheep. Sad day read more

This is, in no way, a knock on the excellent nurses here. I was a walk-in. Showed an elderly man how to check in with the self checkin machines...ya know..because businesses don't believe they should be offering any kind of customer service anymore. The machine I used? I didn't realize it kindly ignored my information and acted like I didn't even show up. A nurse showed up...I explained to her what it did but all she could say was to sign in again. The nurses are great...the business could care less about customer service. Wasted my morning because a business doesn't feel the need to provide any customer service. So on 4/4/24 I had to drop off just a letter and specimen samples for my child and she said I needed a appt I was so annoyed because I was told I did not need it and it needed to be completed within 48 hours. The lines are insane they are low staff and slow. And you can tell the new hires and the ones that have been there for a while customer service . I told the lady I had my appt at 10:30am it was already 11:50am all I needed was to drop off she than said well just wait she was this Mexican lady skinny and tall with brown hair . It is such a scam that we need appointment to drop off samples for quest to bill the insurance when we are not even being treated for anything lol all your doing is drooping off that is crazy. They need to allow staff to open the drop off box again. I waited and by 12:19pm noon I was seen when my appt was at 11:50am today 4/5/24 which was a reschedule THE EMPLOYEE CAIT WAS so sweet and nice and caring and she was fast and efficient I can tell she had experience by the way she attended me compare to other people . I hope they improve the check in and customer service . So many people leave because of how bad the lines are smh so I only give it 5 star because of CAIT and another American gentleman with tattoo everyone else so rude smh read more

Quest diagnostics is a freaking joke I needed blood work done for glucose made an appointment for Saturday morning I took one of the open slots just to show up and find a small sign on the door saying that effective today Saturday march 11 they will be closed till Monday the 13 , it's so upsetting because today is the only day that I was able to do that because of my job I'm not able to just fast and come in any day, y'all need to do a better job on your stupid appointment system if you're not open stop booking fucking appointments it's just fucking ridiculous, thank you so much for fucking my day and Many other people that showed up to your G st location in Merced read more

If I could give this dump zero stars, I would. The people that work here should have never been allowed to work in medicine in any kind of capacity. Rather than have any kind of customer service, they don't have any human decency, much less compassion for their patients. Their screen wait times are an absolute joke. When I got there it said 15 minutes and an hour later I was still there, waiting. Don't even try to tell the people at the front desk that you're in a hurry because they'll just dump your file further back. The lady that took my blood made a snarky comment about how many tests I needed and when I told her I was in a hurry, she decided to go even slower. I will never be going back to Quest Diagnostics. I've had blood work done many times and this is by far the WORST experience I've ever had. read more

I walked into quest and the lady up front was already being rude and staring super hard, didn't even say welcome or anything. The other person at the desk had to assist me and then a male walked in and she said welcome as soon as he opened the door. I then got called back and the lady who took my blood was amazing such a sweet lady! I'm walking out and I'm pregnant so thought I'd stop and go to the bathroom and there was a wet floor sign outside but not in the doorway and the door was wide open and the same girl walks over to the bathroom and BANGS on the door and goes "umm there's a wet floor sign" EXTREMELY rudely and "don't you see the water on the floor" mind you there was barely any water and I assumed someone made a mess. I just got my blood drawn from this location and upon leaving I realized that my arm was never wiped with alcohol beforehand. This a major infection risk and I cannot get through to anyone on the phone to voice my concerns. read more

Was bringing my 80 yr old mother in at 7:30am. She couldn't find her mask. Asked woman at the desk if she had a mask my mom could use. She said no, they are not providing masks. Asked her if my mom could still be seen without one. She said no and said my mom would have to leave the building. Was about to give my mom my mask and go wait outside for her when she found hers. While sitting in the waiting room for over 20mins, 4 different people walked in without masks. A different woman at the desk opened a drawer and handed them all masks. First woman was going to deny my mom service when clearly there were masks available. She was acting like she pays for the masks herself. Shame on you. read more

I saw her looking for the people being called & going outside and making sure they got in. She remembered people's names and I just think there ought to be so many more like her in this world! Went in with no appointment and got everything done, about 8 tests, within 45 minutes. Very quick! Service was friendly.

Make an appt or forget it. Quest has to do something about how they handle their walk ins. When you walk in, all the appts go in front of you - and since the appts are scheduled all day, walk ins only get the scraps of time that are left. Today the screen said nine minutes and I kept getting pushed back - took an hour. The manager said that the times on the screen saying about how long it will take until you go back are not accurate. Well neither is your place in line per the screen because people will keep getting placed in front of you - so why have a screen with all this information? It is no help at all. I will not go to Quest anymore- I will go to Sutter in Turlock - which is a half hour away, but will be faster as I have never waited longer than 15 mins as a walk in. It's too bad Merced can't get it together with their healthcare- all my healthcare is now done at Sutter Turlock and Modesto. It's worth the drive. read more

I went today to get blood drawn for an upcoming surgery and I was unhappy with the attitude of a couple of the phlebotomists. First off when I walked in and went to the counter ( I hadn't been here since they updated the check in with the check in tablets) I didn't get a warm reception at all. The lady just callously asked if I had a question no pleasantness whatsoever. And pointed to the device and said check in there so that was that. While waiting another phlebotomist comes to the front to get my paper work and looks at it and loudly complains to a co-worker and says "I just did one of these. It's gonna take me all day" all in a huff about and it turns out she was looking at my paper work cause she called me right in. (My dr ordered a lot of tests for me) I go back there and she's very callous as well. Like I inconvenienced her cause my dr ordered so many tests. I'm sorry you had to your job! I never right reviews but this upset me. If you work in healthcare you need to be more cordial and polite. They don't know what we're going through as patients and I'm sure they would like some kindness and respect if they were in the same situation. Would recommend some more training for the Merced location. read more

It's in a nicer area , down from Jantz bakery which is nice . They get pretty busy but their staff is pretty good at keeping wait time low . I just don't like that on many occasions they'll only have one or two staff members and the phlebotomist is having to play both phlebotomist and receptionist . So if they're busy drawing blood no one is readily available to attend to the front . Other than that they're very friendly, and they actually know what they're doing . I've been to the quest site inside GVHC and on 13th street next to MFA, forget it ! You'll never be seen and their staff isn't helpful at all . read more

I went once to the G street location, staff was rude and too busy talking about weekend plans to take care of the log-jam of sick people that came for various tests. If you came in for a standard lab type blood work, I would be surprised if you didn't leave sick? Everyone coughing or looked like they were in some kind of pain.I just needed a routine cbc and a few other standred yearly tests. It said on the machine it would be an hour. No way was I going to stay in that room and get sick while listening to what all the employees were doing that weekend. I walked out and will drive many miles to avoid ANY QUEST in the future. I have never seen such an unprofessional Lab in my 69 years of getting Lab work done. read more

I'm tempted to write a bad review to keep this gem to myself :) 9-11-15 they're doing a little remodeling so space is tight and limited. But that does not slow down this staff. Had an appointment for 10. Finally got in at noon. My wait time kept getting prolonged even though I had an appointment.

So you walk in and there is no one in to great you or direct you. There were several people sitting in the waiting room asking each other what is going on. I came here earlier in the year and the office was much nicer and there was staff available to check you in and answer any questions. Some poor woman was standing at the counter for 15 min waiting to ask a question and someone else told her "good luck, no one comes out unless their calling someone back for a blood draw." You can hear the staff in the back talking and laughing, which makes it even worse. Oh and three people just walked out. Someone needs to reevaluate this system. read more

This place is just ok. Got here a little before 4 and the inside of this place was a mess. Chairs all in a disarray and magazines all scattered about. I went to the counter expecting someone to greet me or direct me on what to do and took me several minutes to realize you have to check in into an electronic tablet. I will say I was in and out within 20 minutes, but don't bring your young children here unless you wan the staff to get into them for being kids. read more
