The lab technician told me not covered by Medicare and I can decline or get billed. I left room to verify Medicare indeed does cover. There's a bald technician who was rude and impeded my return to let technician know that my insurance will cover. I told him the room number. I was escorted to lab room by tech herself and I reminded her to go ahead and bill Medicare because website says PSA covered. I don't have to pay!

I think this branch is relatively clean, but…read morethe self check-in process can be a little confusing for folks, especially if it's their first time and even more so if English isn't their first language (which is a huge patient population for Quest in this area). However, they recently started having a person who's assigned to help you check-in. If they're not already in the waiting room, they'll wait to see if you struggle first before they come out for your assistance (or maybe there's a button on the screen for you to ask for help? Not sure. Never needed help checking in) Sometimes if the standby list is short, I would recommend just getting on the standby list. It generally moves pretty fast, as long as the appt line isn't super long and if they aren't understaffed. Otherwise, make an appt on the kiosk and come back later. Or better yet, DOWNLOAD THE APP and set an appt for yourself to avoid all the nonsense mentioned previously. The phlebotomists are hit or miss; mostly the staff are great but there is the occasional person who can take a couple classes on compassion and bedside manners. Regardless, I come in for a regular blood draw every 3months. My wait time can vary greatly. But always when I get seen and make it to the back, I'm served pretty quickly. Make sure you bring a face mask when you come! There can be a lot of people in the small waiting room and you may be surrounded by a bunch of sick or coughing people.

We brought our daughter here a while ago and was very appreciative of how the nurse was gentle…read moretreating her. I was very thankful for their service then, but as of now it is a completely different experience. I think people should only come here for Urgent Care needs. DO NOT come here for a follow up appt. I showed up 15min early for a follow up and when they finally put me in a room, they let me sit there for over an hour. When I asked if they forgot I was there, an assistant replied, "no, she's running a little behind. There's one more patient before you." Maybe there's a reason they call us "patient". Me and the assistant get into an immature door opening/closing contest because I want them to know I'm in there and she doesn't want to be uncomfortable. To put the icing on the cake, she walks by and calls me some name in Spanish. Apparently, this is junior high. Real professional. Apart from the waiting and childish assistant, there was also the issue with inconsistent opinions. My first visit, the injury was deemed "superficial". My second visit, Catherine calls it "soft-tissue" damage. So which is it? Mind you, it's Catherine on both visits. Then, I have to fill out the FMLA paperwork FOR them and then they have the nerve to charge me $30. Catherine doesn't want to take the notes or another 5-10minutes to fill it out even though she's made me wait an hour.... You have to fill it out anyways, so why put it off?? Health services today seem to completely ignore the human element of each encounter. I feel like another animal through the processing plant. No respect for a person's time. No respect or listening ear for a person's life situations. I think Merced has this problem in general. Patients are overbooked and offices are operated like mills. If I make an appointment with my primary care doctor, I'm not seen for another month even in the case/risk of serious infection. I have to come to Urgent care to be seen for follow-ups that still make me wait. What was the argument against single-payer healthcare again??? Oh yea! Waitlists.... well since I'm waiting anyways, might as well be single-payer.

I've been in so much pain and discomfort and it's been a frustrating experience in all.

My old clinic would not give me a follow up appointment soon enough and while that was bad, I'm grateful because that's what brought me to GetWell. They got me in the minute i called, i was seen by a GREAT doctor, wait time was very short for an urgent care clinic, staff was kinder than kind (Samantha, I'm taking about you ), and they got me the antibiotics i needed and ordered the necessary bloodwork. Lab was nearby and the pharmacy was just across the street. So EASY! they truly made everything super smooth! My experience was so extraordinarily fantastic, that i asked them to adopt me as a patient for good! They scheduled me for a physical within 15 days. I needed to reschedule and i could do it via text message! Isn't that amazing? I don't know how you do it, GetWell! I'm SO GLAD i found you. Thank you, thank you, thank you! May you be blessed as you blessed me when i was in so much pain!

As we approached the building, an employee slammed out of an employee entrance and nearly hit me. I jumped back and she mumbled an irritated apology. Then, we went inside. A bored receptionist told us that they would not be able to see my friend because she would need an x-ray and they don't do that on the weekends. Therefore, she said there were only two options: we could wait until Monday or we to the ER. She had no solutions that involved even helping my friend with the obvious pain she was in. Instead, we went to Golden Valley Health Center and they got her in immediately. She left there in under half an hour with a pain medication prescription, cray paperwork, and a sling. I just did not see the quality of concern or care at Get Well that one expects from healthcare providers.

My mother cannot manage medical appointments independently, and relies on family assistance and transportation. I live in Los Banos and have to coordinate her care from out of town, including traveling to take her to appointments. Trying to schedule or cancel imaging with this facility has been extremely frustrating and unacceptable. The biggest issue is their phone system. When "all representatives are busy," the system disconnects the call instead of allowing patients or caregivers to leave a message or remain in a queue. I have called repeatedly and have been unable to reach anyone. This is not a one-time inconvenience; it has been an ongoing problem. I was also told that I may need to physically come to the facility just to schedule imaging appointments. That is an unreasonable expectation for patients who cannot drive, rely on caregivers, or use assisted transportation. Requiring a separate trip just to schedule an appointment creates a major barrier to care. This is not just poor customer service. It interferes with timely access to medically necessary imaging. Patients should not have to fight a broken phone system or travel in person simply to make, change, or cancel appointments. Because this has been a repeated issue, I will be reporting the access-to-care concerns to the appropriate oversight agencies, insurance plan, and patient relations/administration. Families dealing with serious medical concerns should not have to work this hard just to get someone on the phone.
