This staff member was rude and showed little patience while handling my toddler during a blood draw. Instead of being understanding, she blamed us and spoke harshly. She also grabbed my child's hand in a way that felt inappropriate, and then denied it. Check in is near the urgent care check in for HOAG. There are a couple of kiosks where you check in. You need your driver's license and insurance card if you're a walk in. Check in was pretty fast and it let me know to expect a 30-40 minute wait as a walk in with no one ahead of me. The health care provider that was assigned to me was friendly and chatty, but decided to call me by my last name since she had terrible with my first name - which was honestly a little strange. I came here to have some blood samples taken for a diabetes test. I do not recommend coming into any of these places without an appointment. Lots of low reviews here and I understand that, but this is still my go-to for tests. Don't come here without an appointment, make sure your doc sent the lab order to Quest, bring you ID and insurance card, and everything will be ok. I agree things would be better if there's someone available for checking in and for answering questions, but in most cases it works. If you create an account online, you can make reservations, get reminders, and usually see results before your doc contacts you. I especially like the graphs of your blood test results to see your trends over time. read more

I used to come to this Quest location because it's close to my home, and I've even worked at the Quest on La Veta in Orange before, so I'm familiar with how things should run. Unfortunately, this visit was a very disappointing experience. I came in to drop off specimens and asked a staff member if I still needed to register as a walk-in. She responded, "Yes, obviously, because we still have to print out your labels and you still have to sign them," which came across as very rude and unprofessional. I explained that my specimen was time-sensitive and could lose stability, but she told me I would still have to wait. During that time, they called in about 10 patients. Then the same staff member came out and told walk-ins that we might not be seen at all because they were very busy. There were about 4 staff members working and around 12 people waiting, including walk-ins. This all occurred around 10 AM today. Overall, the lack of professionalism and urgency especially given the nature of specimen drop-offs was very frustrating. read more

They asked if I had signed in as the text I received (should have taken care of that) didn't state I needed to sign in. I don't do well with this type of frustration. Clean up this problem. I typically had no problem with this Quest, location; however, I recently went in and it was not a good experience. The technicians need to realize that they are dealing with "patients" with varying reasons why they are there, and we are not to be herded in and out. They also made an error on one of my reports that said that I was "fasting" when I was very specific and told them I was not fasting and that I did not need to fast. I asked for Supervisor's name (no supervisor or manager on site) because I was not happy with the way I was treated. I called the supervisor twice and left a message to give her feedback and she's not returning my call. Seems like the only thing working out for this place is that it is really new, but the staffing is weird and the location is not easy to find. Basically Quest is inside the Hoag building within the plaza. The plaza has plenty of parking and other random businesses that share in the same location. Making an appointment felt nearly pointless because it took at least half an hour from my original booked time to be called in. Once called in (for just a covid test, which should be relatively quick) I had to sit through a few more minutes of confirming my personal information which seemed odd considering I had already completed this information in order to book an appointment. Very disappointing experience at this Quest Diagnostics location (15000 Kensington Park Dr Ste 190, Tustin). I took my 3-year-old daughter here for a blood test, and after a week the provider still hadn't received the results. When I went back, I was told the sample was "insufficient" and that she needed another blood draw -- but no one had informed us for a whole week. The person who called himself the manager, Rodrigo, does not deserve to represent this brand. looked very young and completely inexperienced. He was unprofessional and disrespectful -- during our conversation, he suddenly asked, "Do you have an appointment?" while I was trying to explain the problem. Then he even said, "Are you following up a blood test from 3 years ago?" which makes no sense. I said 3 years old girl. This kind of behavior damages the reputation of Quest Diagnostics. I went to the place at Tustin since it's associated with Hoag. I filled in all the patient and insurance information on the website and the app, and received the QR code. I checked in for my appointment on site, but the system kept asking for my insurance card. I was eventually called in, and although the nurse had all my 3 tests on the screen it took her 15 minutes (very slow typing and seemed confused, broken English) to enter whatever information she needed for the tests and to print labels, and to get my insurance information, again, and then asked for $0.91, yes 91 cents, for my copay! She was okey as a nurse and took her 30 seconds to draw the 3 vials. Quest system of operation needs to be streamlined and coordinated properly, and it should go back to having a front desk person and use the nurses to draw bloods ONLY (it's all automated with no attendant). Their operation management team should be replaced asap - look at their overall rating here. I suggest that this company lean from LabCorp, which I am planning to go back to albeit Hoag uses Quest and not connected to LabCorp apps! read more

I have never felt so humiliated, so disrespected, so insulted, and so mistreated while being inside a healthcare organization, as a have today at this Quest Diagnostics location. My 5.5 year old Autistic son needed blood work done for upcoming surgery next week. We were called to room 2 at 2:20 pm on 2/1/2024 by a young hispanic female, who DID NOT introduce herself to us, nor did she perform hand hygiene prior to taking care of my son. I asked her to have a couple extra people to help hold him down, because he's very strong and I didn't want him to undergo unnecessary pain and terror by having to be stuck twice. She called another female in, who DID NOT introduce herself either, yet who claimed to be a manager. I told them that my experience in all other Quest Diagnostics locations has been that they had two extra people help hold my child while one is sticking. They told me this was not their policy and encouraged me REPEATEDLY to leave and go to the hospital, which I refused, because we needed to get these blood tests performed right away. Then, they proceeded to tell me that I need to hold my child with my own legs while he's sitting on my lap and hold his uninvolved arm the same time. This an absolutely ridiculous request for a parent to hold thier strong child by themselves! I have never been asked that in my entire life! Additionally, I told them that I am an ER nurse of 20 years and that I have extensive experience sticking kids myself, and that if the child is strong, additional personnel may be required to hold them still for the procedure to be successful. I told them that I'm giving them permission to get another person to hold my son's legs while I'm holding his uninvolved arm and supporting his head, which they refused. After I told them I was an RN, instead of their attitude improving and them showing me due respect, their attitude only worsened and they became even more rude and inappropriately hostile toward me. I have never encountered so much resentment, so much disrespect, so much hate, and so much bad attitude at a Quest Diagnostics facility in my entire life! It's unacceptable and simply hard to believe! Why are hateful, rude, and disrespectful people, who are not willing to accommodate patient's request and do what's necessary to help the patient by making the procedure go as smooth as possible without adding any unnecessary stress allowed to work in healthcare and allowed to take care of patients??? We have used Quest labs for years. Lately, we have used the Kensingon Park Dr., Tustin location. It's very clean and the phlabotomists are really good at drawing blood, and they are very kind. Today, I took my daughter who has autism for fasting bloodwork. She's usually really good and no problems. Today, for some reason, the young man, Saul, had a hard time finding a decent vein, and didn't want to hurt her, which I really appreciate. He went and got another person, a young girl, Sofia. She was so kind and was actually talking about Cosmos and Wanda with my daughter (Fairly Oddparents cartoon TV show). My daughter said they weren't there, and Sofia showed her they were there. What could have been a disaster, was a great experience thanks to these two young, caring people. Thank you to both of you!! Another great experience with Quest! read more

Non-English 1st language speakers are abrupt, rude, difficult to understand. Nobody on site (at the desk at least) to help with any issues that may arise. You'll get better service at 7-11 or the DMV. Apparently all of the Quest locations are equally bad, at 2.5 stars or less. Same for Labcorp. I needed a container for a stool sample due to possible contiguous situation. I quietly asked for a container and he yelled at me to make an appointment. I said I just did he said you can wait about 3 hrs. Very rude asked me who said I could just pick when up. I had an urge to go to the restroom. The gal at urgent care gave me one. As she was giving it to me I heard the quest tech yelling about if you don't have an appointment blah blah so rude to people. I've been in the medical field over 30 years. I had an appointment, got the text to check in, then they said it says to wait in lobby, no need to check in again. Simple right? They called my name and I guess I didn't get up fast enough, cuz they shut the door before I could get there. I was only 5 feet from the door. I knocked and when I fold them they just called me, she said no they didn't. I said yes you did, why would I be standing at the door if you didn't. Mind you there was a bunch of people that said, yes you did call her. The person then proceeded to tell me that that person was already helped, so you have two people with the exact same name getting tested???? Ummmm, nice try! She then closed the door again and called two other people before someone called me in to sit and wait for the next person to do my blood work. Really??? I've been waiting for my test results for 2 weeks but still haven't received it. The lab technician said I'd receive it in a few days and have it sent to my doctor. I've been to this location several times in the past few years but this is the first time they've disappointed me in not getting my results to me. My doctor's office still hasn't received it yet either. I tried calling their office multiple times but there is no way of reaching their desk because their phone is automated. Waited 1.5hrs for a TB test appointment to only be told that I had to pay for the test prior to the appointment. This was after they called me back for the test. I was willing to pay at that moment and informed that I had insurance, but I was dismissed with no help. Staff wanted me to wait longer and stated that the payment may take 24hrs to process. QD site allowed me to schedule a TB without paying, and I was very upset with the lack of accommodation. Even if they could not see me, the lack of empathy and customer service made me seek elsewhere to ensure better service. read more

I've had visits at this place that were fast, but today visit was terrible. It took an hour (with an appointment). I checked in 20 minutes before my appointment time. I was called in 20 minutes after my appointment time. One patient had the same appointment time as mine, checked in after me, and was serviced before me. Several people arrived after my appointment time were serviced before me. I asked two workers and they were dismissive and rude. No one did anything to try to rectify the issue. I was also asked if I want to make a "copay" in the amount of $1. I figured it's only $1, why not? The receipt came out to $1.42, which is not a big deal. However it's not an actual copay, but only an estimated amount. Quest will only charges the credit card after insurance has processed the claim. Patient will get a bill if the patient responsibility exceeds the pre authorized amount. It seems like a trick just to get the credit card number on file. read more

I cant speak for this location in general but on the day I visited, the staff were all taking extended lunch or something and no one even came to the lobby about 30 min past their said lunch time. Of course at least 15 of us all complained as they showed up. They did not even give insincere apology and pretended this was usual. Well, the only thing positive was that once I was in, I was out in 2 min. They were so much in hurry that they were talking to me even before I sat on the chair (I was here to draw 5 vials of blood) and didnt even ask to check my nane on the label on the vials. read more

I do NOT recommended this location. Even with an appointment, and arriving the recommendation 10 mins early, I waited more than 40 minutes. This has happened on two separate occasions. There were any other patients in the waiting room who were experiencing the same issue and were greatly frustrated. This office has also eliminated the human receptionist at the front desk. Patients are required to check in on a tablet type kiosk. The is no receptionist! I witnessed many elderly patients who were very intimidated or unable to check themselves in. And since there is absolutely no office staff available to help, these patients became very frustrated. Myself and other patients helped some elderly and non-English speaking patients navigate the kiosk and check in. Without a receptionist, there is no one to ask if you have questions. The only human interaction is with the phlebotomist who calls your name and takes you in for the blood draw. When the phlebotomist would open the door to call names, some patients would ask them questions regarding check-in and wait time. The phlebotomists were visibly irritated by the fact that they are now forced to serve as the office receptionist. Of course this likely slows down the blood draw process for the phlebotomist and pushes the schedule further behind.. Patients are forced to knock on the door and get the attention of a phlebotomist to answer check-in and wait time questions. During my blood draw, a persistent patient kept knocking to the point where the phlebotomist was interrupted. I will not return to this location due to long wait times and lack of customer service. If you plan to use this location, I suggest you make an appointment for first thing in the morning, before they get behind on their appointments. Also know that if you have any problems or issues during check-in then there is NO ONE to speak to and help. read more
