I had the greatest experience with this company AVK Kitchen & Bath…read more I absolutely love my remodeled kitchen. Their workmanship was superb, and I couldn't find a single fault. The staff and their team were extremely helpful, knowledgeable, and trustworthy. The senior design consultant and manger, Brian was very professional , his recommendations were great, and extremely thoughtful. The production manger Angel, was absolutely fantastic and patient, always answering my calls promptly and attentive throughout the process. The stone company and their team were also outstanding. They told me the project would be completed in three weeks, and it was finished in less than three weeks. I highly recommend them to my friends and family. Fantastic job VKB Kitchen & Bath Team! I would strongly discourage anyone from using VKB Kitchens & Bath…read more A few years ago, this company was hired through a third party to renovate my fireplace at the request of the previous owner. Last year, that fireplace was determined to be the cause of a devastating house fire that displaced my family. Following a thorough investigation, we were informed that the fire resulted from the fireplace being improperly installed. We also learned that the renovation was completed without the required Howard County permit. Had the proper permit been obtained, county inspections could have identified the installation issues before the project was completed. As a result, our home suffered extensive damage and is expected to take approximately 12 months to rebuild. Beyond the financial impact, this experience has taken an enormous physical and emotional toll on my family. Despite everything we've endured, we have not received any acknowledgment of responsibility from VKB Kitchens & Bath and they were informed last November (2025) that they were responsible for my house fire. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this company. If you're considering a home renovation, I encourage you to carefully research your contractor, verify that all required permits will be obtained, and make sure the work will be properly inspected. A renovation should improve your home, not put your family's safety at risk or turn your life upside down for years.

Everything started out smoothly. Jacob arrived to my house and we discussed the project we wanted…read moredone. Replace laminate flooring with carpet for the majority of our basement. Carpet was supposed to go all the way to the pillar shown in the picture. Jacob explained that due to where the laminate was installed, they were able to get very close to the pillar, roughly 1 inch away. We agreed to this and a quote was received and approved. When the installers arrived, I explained to them everything as I explained to Jacob, including installation up to the pillar. They asked if they were doing the stairs too, and I said no. This should have been the first red flag of miscommunication. When the work was done, I noticed that the carpet did not reach the pillar as we have discussed. It was roughly 2 vinyl planks away (over a foot away!). The installers told them Jacob only told them 17ft installation, not to the pillar. Which was odd, since I specifically told the installers that it should have gone up to the pillar. If there were some confusion, why did they not ask me about it? At this point, it was too late to fix. Jacob arrived and confirmed it as supposed to go the pillar, and further confirmed that it was too late to do anything. By failing to remove all the vinyl planks up towards the pillar, this also caused the end of the carpet to not be able to be tucked under the laminate. Now there is an area of the carpet that sticks out as well, also shown in the picture. Finally, our basement has a step down area. By removing the laminate, it exposed a gap in my baseboard. I would have hoped that the installers would have asked us how to proceed, rather than just ignoring it and proceeding. So now I have more imperfections due to the carpet installation. At the end of the day, the carpet was mostly installed as we requested. Just wished that the communication would have been better. Now I am stuck with imperfections in my basement. The ironic part is, the leftover roll of carpet they provided me would have been enough to cover the area they failed to install.

Recently, I asked if they could bound a remnant of the carpet to put in my office. They not only completed the service for free, but Jennifer delivered it to my house. They are definitely a company that cares about their clients. I cannot say enough wonderful things about them.
