My wife and I have hired Renaissance Floor and Carpet for three projects over the past few years: carpet installation on the stairwells and upper floor, hardwood flooring installation on the main level and waterproof vinyl in the basement. Overall, we are very happy with the quality of the work and the customer service provided by Amir. The carpet and waterproof vinyl installations both went smoothly. The crew worked efficiently and finished the jobs in a couple of days. The hardwood flooring project took a frustrating turn, but Amir ultimately resolved it to our satisfaction. The crew installed the hardwood in summer 2023 and shortly afterwards much of it shrunk and developed creaking. After a lot of back and forth with Amir and the manufacturer, Renaissance replaced the problem areas. My wife and I appreciated Amir's professionalism and integrity. Our townhouse's flooring is now so beautiful thanks to Renaissance! read more

Really horrible product, experience and outcome. The floor looks like it was installed by kids. Pieces do not alternate properly. Floor already broke less than two year later. Shoe molding 1/2 inch above ground. They couldn't have done a worse job. You might as well do it yourself than hiring this careless crew. Run away from this place and find a reputable flooring place, or buy online and do yourself, or big box handyman stores that sell windows and flooring do great jobs. This is the second time we used this company to replace carpet with hardwood floors and also added carpet to the basement. We worked with Latif and he was very good to work with. He came by to make measurements, provided us with timely quotes, and went to his store to make our floor selections. Their pricing was less than the other company, so that was a big bonus for us. Very good people to work with and made our purchase and comfort a big plus. We are really enjoying the new hardwood floors and loved the basement carpet so much, that we asked Latif to custom make two rugs made from the carpet. Latif was the one that recommended this nice plush carpet and so glad we did. One caveat though, they did make some scruff marks on our newly painted walls, when installing the new flooring, but after talking to Latif, they came back and repainted the areas. read more

I do not recommend this flooring company. They came in and laid down floors without following the manufacturer instruction. They did not level the floor. As a result there are hollow spots on the floor and one piece broke. They came in and fix that one piece and when they laid the floor back down they put the same piece down my whole apartment which looks very strange. Their fix was very careless and also reuse the same shoe molding which looks horrible. By the door they did not seal the floor correctly and moisture will get in. The owner blamed the first time on one of his salesmen and admitted in an email to doing it incorrectly. Under his supervision they pulled up 75% of the floor and had a chance to do it correctly yet he neglected to do it. Later he said that if I would pay more he would lift up the whole floor and do it correctly. I would have paid more to do it in the beginning but the problem is that now every time they're pulling up the floor I have to move all of my stuff and the floor is becoming in a poorer condition. This place charges a lot but they just come in slept on floors and leave without much care. What's supposed to be a floor that'll last 10 to 20 years will probably last 3 to 5 at most. I will not use this company and highly regret doing so in the first place. read more

Worked with Amir to replace the carpet with Bruce Hardwood Floors in the main floor and three set of stairs and replace some damaged floor boards from previous owner of our house. The installation took two days longer then promised but that was because they ran out of material and had to order more (didn't charge us for that). Couple years later we were very pleased with the results, we worked with Bassir to replace both bathroom floors and they will actually replace our shower with a frameless shower door along with new mosaic tile floors in the shower. Our project expert was Latif who guided us through product selection, design, measurement and installation. After narrowing down possible selections in the showroom, Latif came to our house with several samples so we could evaluate colors and textures in our home environment. He carefully measured each space and created a detailed project drawing for estimation and installation purposes. Installation was completed in two phases: second floor and then the first floor. Each team that came to our house during the installation phase was professional, courteous, efficient and expert in every aspect. Each team arrived on time each day they were scheduled. From start to finish Renaissance was very professional. Latif came for our initial consultation and told us the total cost and installation. Because of Covid, I inquired how many men were installing our floor and if they followed all guidelines. They were both masked and gloved. Reasonable pricing, punctuality and craftmanship are important to me. Renaissance Flooring& Carpet did not disappoint. I replace the whole first floor, carpet+ vinyl+ some hardwood, with hand scrape hardwood. The best experience, no pressure, no nail biting. Mr Bassir, the sale person, was very helpful eager to search for the wood that I would love. No pressure just to make a sale. The instalation started as scheduled. The installers, led by Mr. Jose, were punctual and did a great job. They were tidy, always kept the work area clean and always clean up at the end of the day. The craftmanship is evidenced in the finished work. Jose even did a beautiful picture frame around the fireplace foot. There is a little snag when the job was very near compmetion, but it went to show how well they react in solving the problem to your best benefit. Jose discovered that the wood in the last boxes werer too light. It was hand scrape wood so some color variations were to be expected. However, Jose saw right away that it would not look good. He called Mr Bassir, who went hunting for the righ lot of wood. I mean hunting! They searched until the right lot was found. For the mass amount of wood, I don't think any one could check each box ahead of time to make sure the color would not varie too much. All the wood are labled as the same color#, but of course different in lots# means a great deal. That's how detail oriented they were. The instalation resumed a little off the schedule, but to me it spoke volume about their professionalism and honesty. I am very happy with their work and will call them again for my flooring project upstairs. PS. I tried to submitt same review to A.. Latif is very honest very efficient I don't usually write reviews we always write complaints. So when you get excellent service from beginning to end at a really reasonable price and flooring is one of the hardest things to get it done properly the crew that they sent out to install the floor were excellent fast efficient I could see they were training the youngest of their crew By having him do the closets a little slower but an excellent job this is the way you train you're younger people. I had my kitchen and family room done by somebody else on Rockville Pike I can't even remember the store near congressional Plaza across the street horrible work. Latif showed me how the boards were to be placed in a certain way and the flooring that he sold me is absolutely amazing I almost want to tear out what I had done by a previously Company did it is so horrible both product and installation and price. My house is almost 70 years old so I've had a lot of flooring people come and hated all of them. I am so glad to be writing a good review finally!!! I will use Renaissance flooring and Mr. Latif again I need to do my basement floors and I may eventually have them redo my kitchen family room and sunroom. These guys are the best in town (Maryland, Northern Virginia, Washington D.C. areas.) Mr. Amir is one of the most professional people you will meet in your lifetime. He sincerely cares about his customers and doesn't try to push or sell you something that either doesn't suit your needs or is outside of your financial comfort. Our journey started with horrible floors that we picked from a Distributor (Floor and Decor in Alexandria, Virginia)- unfortunately, my husband and I had no experience with picking out floors and paid for Bamboo flooring (STAY AWAY FROM BAMBOO!) as part of a package deal for condo renovations with an independent contractor (the contractor asked us to pick material and came out to install them as part of our remodeling package for the whole condo ;i.e.- new kitchen cabinets, bathrooms ,etc). I tried to persuade my husband to go with a professional flooring company and not rely on a contractor that says "just go choose the material." Well, he didn't listen --- Approximately 10 days after install, the entire flooring started to separate at multiple locations where the bamboo had been installed. Cracks everywhere. After months of battling with the distributor-- who refused to give us the entirety of our money back (long story , but it was because we didn't use their installers/contractors),---we were about to give up ........and the floor continued to unravel. After losing a lot of time, money, and sleep, I strongly insisted that we just cut our losses and go to Renaissance Floor and Carpet --- I had used the services of Renaissance Floor and Carpet a decade ago when I had purchased my first condo prior to getting married and it had looked fabulous. My husband listened this time and called Amir (Owner) and everything from that point on was a walk in the park. Amir completely understood our situation and informed us that the product we had chosen was something he would not have recommended. Over the next several weeks, we went to his store and picked out many other options for flooring. Throughout the whole process, he was extremely PATIENT and informative. He spent a lot of time explaining in detail the different products, what works, what doesn't work, etc. His prices were extremely reasonable and i am sure he gave us a good discount (probably because he felt sorry for us)..... I just wish we had utilized his services from the very beginning. Lesson learned: always listen to your wife. His team installed the new floors in a very efficient and timely manner. We had hardwood floors installed over two staircases and a hallway, and carpet installed in 3 bedrooms. Amir called the night the work was done to ensure all was satisfactory; he resolved a small discrepancy with the carpet installer and apologized for any confusion. The price was excellent; they came in well under any other estimates we had gotten, and were able to perform the work quickly. I'd work with them again in a heartbeat! Only 4 stars because we think that the hardwood guys left the bathrooms a bit messy (with unwanted surprises). But they put in two 12 hours days to get the work done. read more

Exceptional experience and customer service! We had a plumbing leak resulting in the removal of approximately 1100 square feet of wood flooring. This occurred in the great room adjoining three other areas with 40 year old, original wood flooring. Virtually all of the new floors we looked at were 3/4" thick and the transition from new to old would have created a terrible tripping hazard. BUT, Renaissance to the rescue! Not only did they have 1/2" flooring but it is a great match to the 40 year old flooring and the transitions from old to new are barely noticeable. We worked with Amir, the ultimate professional and king of customer service. Because an insurance claim was involved, we lived on plywood with furniture stored in every room for months. When we finally found Renaissance, it was only three weeks before Thanksgiving. Not only was Amir able to schedule our job before the holiday but suggested it be completed the Friday before so we could get everything else in order. He made sure all the wood was from the same "lot" so the color would be consistent throughout, as a "just in case" he had the new flooring delivered to our home three days prior to installation to acclimate to our humidity level even though the manufacturer said that wasn't necessary, he was on-site to insure the installation started correctly, came by to check the progress, and returned once again to confirm we were happy with the final product. The four installers worked extremely well together, worked consistently throughout the day (no long breaks), and our job was completed on schedule. They put all the furniture back in place and even returned a second day to reinstall a heavy display rack on top of a dining area piece. We had one minor mishap when the workers inadvertently put a cloth with glue on top of a piece of furniture, melting the top coat. Amir worked with us in getting that repaired to our satisfaction. This company knows how to provide customer service. So the question is not why use them but why would you use any other company???? read more

For a homeowner to make upgrades for the first time, I have had a positive experience with Renaissance Floor and Carpet. Here's why: *professional customer service (i.e. interactions via emails and phone with Armin and Amir were both great, they performed in a professional manner, prompt responses and knowledgeable) *professional with their scheduled appointments for when they came to give us a free estimate/quote for the floors, delivery of the wooden floors to be installed AND for the day the floors were being placed in (i.e. the day when my floors were being installed in, workers arrived 10 mins before the scheduled 8:30 am appointment which was great!) *professional hard working, skilled workers who went to work right away once they showed up at my house, took a 30 minutes lunch break, and then went right back to work (i.e. breakdown of old laminate floors to installing the hardwood floors, the clean-up was great and made sure to go outside the home to saw/cut the wooden floors to be installed.) Just a little background information, I needed to make upgrades to my kitchen floor and wanted the look of seamless uniformity from my living area room into the kitchen. Renaissance Floors and Carpet did an fantastic job at matching the color of my original hardwood floors in my living area to the floors that were being installed in my kitchen. It looks as if I've had hardwood floors in my kitchen since the day I bought my house. After the work was done, we had another contractor to work on our kitchen. And during the process, they damaged a panel of one of our newly installed floors. We immediately contacted Renaissance and they were able to accommodate us with our schedule to come out and repair the damage floor. My husband and I went to Renaissance Floor and Carpet because of the recommendation of a friend and the on-line reviews. We were not disappointed. We were greeted by Latif who over a series of meetings expertly helped us select the color, texture, and manufacturer for the luxury vinyl plank flooring we were seeking to replace the carpeting in the bedrooms of our condo. And at a great price! Latif is not only very knowledgable, he is also personable and easy to talk to, and we felt that he really understood our needs in a LVP product. His goal was that we be happy with the product we chose. He gave us a number of floor samples to take home so we could see and compare them in our rooms over several days. Latif was always available, either by phone or in person, to answer our questions and provide us with advice. We love the fact that Renaissance employs and trains its floor installers rather than subcontracting out the work. We didn't want to pay a small fortune to remove built-in closets and cabinets for the floor installation. Latif assured us that the installers could lay the flooring around the built-ins. The installers laid the flooring with such precision that you can't tell that the LVP does not go under the built-ins. We are beyond pleased with our floors. It fulfills all our needs: It looks just like wood, it is noise absorbent (important for condo living), it is durable and stain-resistant (practically grand-children proof), and it didn't break the bank. And we had the pleasure of working with Latif. We feel confident that Renaissance and and Latif will be there for us if we every have any problems (which we don't anticipate having). We recently had Renaissance install wood flooring on our entire first floor (kitchen, dining room, living room, family room, hall bath). I am very happy with the results. Latif gave us an excellent estimate and helped us select the right wood (we are very happy with it). Once we selected Renaissance, Latif and his crew worked tirelessly to make sure the job was done properly. It was a huge job. Tile, existing wood flooring and carpet had to be removed. After the existing flooring was removed, it was revealed that floors in different rooms were uneven, meaning that additional subflooring had to be removed in two of the rooms before wood flooring could be installed. Every aspect of the job was done to our complete satisfaction. Despite some unanticipated conditions (like the uneven flooring), Latif never blinked and never came back to us with a "change order" or any request to increase the contract price. Also - and most impressively - after the job was completed, Latif performed a walk-through and his crew came back two more times (after we made the final payment!) to fix a couple of minor (nit-picking) cosmetic issues we noticed. Latif never pushed back or said the job was "good enough" - it was clear he was not going to be happy until we were 100% happy. I can't recommend Renaissance Flooring and Latif more highly. I had a pretty good experience with Renaissance Floor and Carpet. Bassir was very helpful, knowledgeable and extremely friendly. I would definitely use them again. The people that came in to install hardwood were extremely good and friendly (Edwin and Flavio among others). They were fast, effective, clean and very thorough! I would recommend you have a written contract (work order, invoice, etc) of the work expected before the work starts. Beginning with our visit to their extensive showroom in Rockville, we were impressed by the advice and courtesy of Basir who explained the various alternatives for using wood (solid or engineered). After selecting several options. he brought large samples to our house for comparison with existing tile and carpet. The installment of the solid wood floors was excellent, probably because Renaissance does its own rather than subcontracting. As a Realtor, I am very selective when it comes to making improvements to my home as I want to make sure that I am making a good investment and will end up with a quality result that will enhance the value of my home. That being said I was extremely satisfied with Renaissance Floor & Carpet, their knowledgeability about their products and quality craftsmanship gave me a result that significantly exceeded my expectations. I used Renaissance Floor & Carpet to replace the existing carpet and tile with wood in the living room and kitchen of my condo. I shopped around extensively and immediately felt a sense of relief after meeting with Amir at his showroom in Rockville because I had finally found a provider who would be able to meet my expectations and help me accomplish my year long goal of getting my new wood floors. He had at least a dozen different brands of engineered hardwood flooring (while other places had just a few) including some of the most popular brands that I had seen recommended online. We discussed the pros and cons of each and Amir understood how important it was to me to get a quality product as with engineered hardwood flooring refinishing is nearly impossible.I knew that I wanted a hand scraped wide plank product in a color that was dark but would match my medium toned cabinets (a color I dislike but not worth changing as they are only a few years old). When I saw the Armstrong Old World Acacia sample I knew that it was the one! I had been very close to going with a different provider who was going to charge me more for a lower quality product, Amir was able to beat that price by $500 and give me the exact floors I had been looking for. The quote was straightforward and inclusive of everything needed to do the job and there were no extra fees, I paid 1/3 as a deposit to order the materials and the rest after the job was complete. The preparation (carpet and tile removal) and installation took 2 days. The workers were prompt and very professional, I had no problem leaving them working in my home for the day while I went to work - typically this is something that I find very stressful. Their work was flawless, no gaps or uneven cuts, even in the kitchen where they had to remove the lower part of the cabinets to make sure the wood extended under.
