Ethan came to my newly purchased condo (in Oakland) a few weeks ago to re-key my locks. When I called, I called with a couple day's notice before I actually wanted an appointment, so I was surprised when they said, "Do you want us to come today?" Awesome availability. I scheduled an appointment and Ethan came a couple days later for an on-time appointment. Upon examining my locks, he suggested that we completely replace my hardware because the original locks "were $5 locks and you can break in with a screwdriver." I was hesitant and declined at first. It had nothing to do with the feeling of being upsold, but more me being over paying more money on top of everything else I was paying for with the condo. Ethan made it very clear he wasn't trying to upsell me, but wanted to present me all the information and make sure I knew the pros and cons since it's my safety at stake. I definitely appreciated that. Ethan was able to easily replace the top lock, but the bottom lock was completely de-threaded and he couldn't take out the lock without removing the entire hardware. After explaining the issue, we agreed that we should just replace all of the hardware (top deadbolt and bottom with a turn handle). He had the hardware in his trunk, so it was great that he didn't have to leave the truck! He easily installed the new hardware within 10 minutes and showed me the difference between the old and new hardware. I'm not exaggerating, the new lock is heavier and turns and locks with more force. It feels more secure. I mentioned Yelp and Ethan gave me a discount of not charging both re-keys, so I think it was like $45 off. In all, for a new top deadbolt and bottom turn-handle knob (both open with the same key), I was charged $175. Ethan was very professional and I'd use their services again. read more

Excellent service! Called after hours for help with a lockout situation. Their lockout service was backlogged but Ethan offered to come by within the hour, which he did and texted me prior to arrival. The condition of the jammed lock was challenging and Ethan tried different things to fix it. He didn't just give up after a try or two and kept at it until he found at least a temporary solution. He even offered to come by at a later time to completely fix the lock. My lock was broken and I tried to change it myself. Without having any knowledge about locks, my local hardware store recommended me the worst lock ever. I am returning it today! After I spent a couple of hours installing the lock, I realized it was not good quality. I finally called Non Stop Locksmith and the locksmith came within 3 hours as promised. He was professional and very knowledgeable about the types of locks. He explained to me what needs to done and recommended the type of lock I needed. The lock also has a 1 year warranty. He can to our home, used a screwdriver to open the door & then told us he couldn't put a new lock because it was too rusty. He was at my house for 5 minutes & charged me $120. I told him I thought it was too much money given what he did and the time he spent at my house. He was argumentative from the moment we started talking about it. He noted because of his travel time & the fact that it was a sat he can charge that price. Very quick response from Quick Key. I needed my house re-keyed immediately and Udi came out same day and was able to re-key all of the locks and produce quite a few copies in about 30 minutes. Great, fast work and he was no BS, no nonsense which I appreciated. He also made some great recommendations for fancier key-less entry systems should I be interested in the future, since I was making so many key copies, but there was no pressure at all. I had my car stolen out of my driveway a week ago. The thief found a spare set of keys in my husbands car, which also had our house keys on it. We immediately called Udi and he and another worker came out Sunday night to re-key and upgrade every door in our home. They spent over four hours, late into the night, and charged us a very reasonable amount. Our front door is extra thick and he told us the lock may not work and to call if something happened. We recently purchased our first house and needed to get the locks changed ASAP. I contacted Udi through their website in the middle of the night to even see if they serviced our area (Brentwood), and by 9am the next morning he called me to set up an appointment. At 1:00 ON THE DOT he knocked on the door, right on time (I hate waiting around for people). **I feel really bad but there was another great service tech there as well whose name I can't for the life of me remember, sorry!!** We talked briefly about what needed to be rekeyed/replaced, I appreciated that he didn't pressure me into making any changes/upgrades that I didn't feel comfortable with. For example, he ended up replacing the deadbolt on the front door in my choice of silver, but since the old handle down below was a nasty gold color, he told me where to look in order to replace that part, and even showed me how to take the old one off and install the new one when I get it (I would have had no clue). I appreciate good customer service and honesty. I hopefully will not have to use them again for a while, but they are first on my list the next time I need anything remotely done with locks! read more
