This place is a TOTAL RIPOFF! They now only accept debit or credit cards. You are charged for the amount of time you spend in the bay. There is a 20 dollar " Maximum " but you have to in there quite a while to reach $20. I have a 1968 VW Bug so I was in and out of the bay fairly quickly. I used to love going to this kind of place. Last time I went, it took me long enough to do my car thoroughly that it cost almost as much as going to Santa Palm. This time, especially since it's supposed to rain in a few days, I just wanted to rush thru and get some mud splatters off; when I finished it said it would be around $8 which I could live with -- but then my credit card company said I was charged $20. I guess it kept running the charges up even though i'd switched the dial to power off and hit the x on the pay pad. I miss the days when you just put a couple bucks of quarters in and the thing would shut down when the money ran out (yes, I'm old). I'll not be back. This self service car wash has been here for as long as I can remember. I love it. It's great for my classic cars with delicate paint as you do it all yourself. It has high water pressure and it's not a bad value for West Hollywood. The wash is timed and if I'm quick, a wash will cost me about $7.50. If you go to the big full service car wash down the street near Palm it's now about $28.99 for just a regular wash plus tip. So if you don't mind doing it yourself, a wash and vacuum for around $10 at this place is really not a bad deal. I read a lot of reviews here saying that it costs $15, but what happens is they put a $15 hold on your credit card when you start the wash. I personally have not been overcharged, and in a day or so the $15 hold drops off and the actual cost is charged. Make sure to turn the wash switch to "off" when you're done and press the button on the card machine to stop the timer so you only pay the amount of time that you've been washing. Otherwise, it will just keep charging you. I think the wax and especially the conditioner settings are useless so I hardly spray those; just a quick spray usually. The foaming brush is fantastic for rims and wheels. I do love the new air dry hose feature. It's really amazing and cuts down the amount of drying you have to do with a towel; the water just blows off the car. The nice thing is that since it's brushless, it's much easier on a car's paint. You can decide how much soap to use with the spray. They have pay by time vacuums in the back that work but are a bit awkward as they have a huge hose. They have drying towels for sale but it definitely helps to bring some of your own towels with you to dry your car, and some Windex. The only thing about this 24 hour car wash is that occasionally at night when it has less traffic, it can feel a bit creepy as there is absolutely no one around except some shady looking types who come out of nowhere; I think they're just collecting items from the trash cans near the wash stalls & vacuums. This car wash is good for what it is and much safer than going through a drive thru. I come here a few times a year and love using the soap hoses. They are super powerful and get the dirt that is really stuck on my car. I avoid using the brushes since those can actually do more harm than good and scratch the paint on your car, but I highly recommend coming here for the soapy hose wash offs. If you want to do a more thorough job, you can also pull forward to the vacuuming station and clean the inside or bring towels to hand dry your car. I would recommend bringing your own towels if you want to make sure all the stubborn dirt gets off, but don't waste your time with the weak vacuums. A lot of the reviews complain that they are being charged $15 when that is really just an initial hold. The real price is $1 per min and you can go 15 mins max. read more

The floor is covered in moss or built up soap which is extremely slippery. I just ate shiiiiit here. I didn't see it because it's not really visible. It's literally like black ice. This is my first time here and I'm a little surprised at how dangerous washing your car here can be. I cut my arm open, bruised my hip, and also broke my right thumb nail. I am also a bit upset about the equipment being in disrepair. The water sprayer and wax sprayer were both not spraying correctly and by reading other reviews I would assume this is an ongoing issue which has yet to be addressed by the owners. Overall this was a very painful and embarrassing experience. It's crazy how difficult it is to find a decent carwash around here. I've been coming to this car wash for years. I'm surprised I didn't write a review sooner. I love this self-service car wash. It's only $4 for a wash and $1 for the vacuum, both lasting 4 minutes. The water pressure is excellent, especially for cleaning your rims. The only time I experience long lines is on the weekends; otherwise, you are good to go. The amount of people who aren't aware of many car washes putting holds on their accounts is crazy. It works the same way as a gas station does; your account is charged with an authorized hold of $15, and whatever you spend within the time of the hold, will be reflected in the final charge (if you spend $6, that $15 charge will then be turned into a $6 charge and you'll have $9 refunded) I will admit it can be a tad bit of an inconvenience considering holds can last up to 3 days, but this should be common knowledge with lots of car washes. I've lost money here multiple times to equipment failure. Today the wash shut off after 30 seconds and I was charged $5. There's never an attendant when this happens. There is a sign about lockbox and to leave a note for a refund. I guess I need to keep a notepad and pen in my car just to come here. Also, it doesn't shut off when you turn the dial to off. You have to remember to press the small red x when finished or it will keep charging you. Seems intentionally scammy. I had to reinsert my card to start the wash again, and only spent $5 dollars according to the card monitor. Hit or miss place. It's close to my apartment, so I figured it was worth a shot. First time I came, there was a bit of a wait but once I got into a spot, I was able to wash my car in 4 minutes. You have to use dollar coins (can exchange there) or credit card to pay. I've only ever used the dollar coins, but would probably take caution and avoid using cc if possible. The second time I tried to wash my car was yesterday in the late afternoon. The machine glitched on me and only gave me ~2 minutes. I've used plenty of self wash car washes (mostly in the valley) and never been charged that much. The most I've spent is $11 and that was for a 18-20 minute wash. To top it off, you can't get a receipt and the price that shows after you're done washing is not the same as the price that shows on your credit card.
