Curbwash is worth every penny, because your car will literally look and smell like new once they are done with it. Long story short, when learning about my situation he drove across town to open up the Beverly Hills location (at the Maybourne Hotel), which had closed for the day because of rain due the next. Sure, the car wash looks fun and modern. It even gives the impression of reliability. But appearances are deceiving. They should put more time into making sure their machines do what they're supposed to do. Even though I only went every few months or so, I always liked the convenience of having a $15 (base price) car wash within the parking garage of my work. Long enough time spanned when I realized Oasis Car Wash was no longer at the bottom level (what we insiders would call purple hell) at P4, but a new company called Bubbe's Steam Wash. They had obvious signage starting at the opening of the garage, so this certainly helps one make their way down. After visiting their website, I decided to give them a try the next time I went into work. Only one car was in front of mine when I showed up prior to 12p; a nice guy with blond hair introduced himself as Josh and explained that they had a couple other locations around town, and that Oasis closed what I will say was due to 'bad business practices.' Although Bubbe's pride themselves on using a gallon of water per wash, they are certainly more expensive than Oasis was. Even though this wasn't favorable, I figured why not give them a chance? Also, I kind of need to see out of my windshield and due to my trip earlier this month to Nevada, I clearly needed all the help I could get. They offer several different washes, and I decided to go with the basic. Yes, I admit I don't appreciate cars, but I do need it clean. This base wash was $24.99+tax, and it's ca$h only.* Another plus is that they are open until 7p on Saturdays, when the previous business closed at 4p. I returned after 5p and a nice guy took my payment and handed over my keys. Everyone here was very informative/helpful and I believe his name was Jai-ver (sorry I know I butchered that). Receipt can't be printed unfortunately but was received via email. Considering I only wash my car every so often, I suppose I can get used to the price hike (compared to what I knew, that is). After all, they did a damn good job where I can not only see out of my windshield, it's almost so clean that it's reflective. Also, a pen that dropped into nowhere within my car was returned to my drink holder, so I appreciate the fact 'lost items are returned to their rightful owner.' You can trust these guys. Not great. They didn't bother vacuuming out the trunk. My windows were never dried properly and left streak marks all on the inside and outside. Windshield looked worse upon leaving. They have been consistently providing AMAZING service, so they've made a life long repeat customer out of me. Added benefit: they use about a gallon of water or less per wash, they are the most eco-friendly car wash I can find in all of LA! I've used both their mobile service where they came to my house and washed both cars and their in person location in West Hollywood. Both have been top notch. Making an appointment was super easy and convenient, the staff are always friendly and helpful. I have a Tesla, which requires specialized methods of washing so it doesn't mess up the paint. I tried to schedule a car wash with them. Called, no answer. I see on their website they offer text messaging, so I send a message asking if I can come in that afternoon to get a wash. No response. I send more info: the kind of wash I'm interested in, the kind of car I have. Still no answer. I send a THIRD message saying I'm only 10 min away, I want the $150 wash not including tax or tip, and to please let me know when they can. They finally reply, with just one word: "Tomorrow". I said okay, what time then? Are you sure you can't squeeze me in today? And they never replied. If you're going to offer text messaging then at least be professional and REPLY to your CUSTOMERS. Unfortunately, I never had the chance to cough up nearly $200 for a detail package to see what their actual service is like- although, it seems like I've dodged a bullet considering the customer service I'd received. When there are fifteen car washes per block and I can find a service for half the price on Groupon if I want to, you need to learn how to offer customer service. I've gone to Bubbe's several times now, and while they are pricey (to me) they do a great job. The reason I'm writing this review is due to my most recent experience. Long and boring story short: I was intially unhappy with the job they did, but they made it right in a big way. After I got the original (unsatisfactory) work done, I contacted Josh, and showed him some photos. Without hesitation or questions he apologized and told me to come back and they'd do the job to my satisfaction. And they exceeded my expectations. Andre did a fantastic job. Let me preface this by saying that this is a mobile wash review and I can't actually speak to Bubbe's cleaning expertise. Mainly because they ultimately didn't show up for my wash appointment. I scheduled through the website on a Wednesday for a Thursday appointment and received a confirmation. On Thursday I received a text saying they had a "large customer we're handling today. Not sure why it wasn't on the booking calendar..." and asking me if I'm open Friday or Saturday. Of course I asked for Friday but fast forward a few texts to where they couldn't do Fri and asked if I can do Saturday with a 15% discount. We scheduled it for Saturday. On Friday I received a text saying "so it looks like rain tomorrow." I replied that it does but I desperately need my car cleaned. (The inside was the problem.) No response, which I'm fine with but perhaps this was my downfall. I didn't take this as a cancellation because you know CA weather: It did in fact rain in the early morning but skies were clear and blue in the hours leading up to my appointment. Saturday no one showed up so I texted 10 min after my appointment check in. There was no response so I called 10 min later and left a voicemail. They texted me 20 min later (40 min after the appointment time) apologizing and accepting culpability for not communicating a cancellation, saying they didn't come due to weather, and they'd stick to their 15% discount for the next time I'm in need. Needless to say, I shouldn't actually book with them because I do need my car cleaned. read more
