Nothing happens quickly here. I've been to this understaff store twice. Once before Covid and last week. My need for chips put me there. Entered the store I only saw two employees on the floor. One making food and a cashier. Three people in line when I join. A woman checking out was clearly confused, confused the young cashier. He changed register to separate her from the growing line. I thought another employee would help him but nope. The line became an aisle long. Once he returned, another customer with a sandwich and drink was not happy with the price. He was never in line he walked straight to the cashier. Short verbal exchange, the cashier walked away from the register to regroup. The cashier friends entered the store and commented how crazy it was to only have two employees working. I agree! This is a high volume store that need at least 4 employees at all time. read more

Easily the worst Quick Chek ever. This is how my Champ sandwich was delivered. I gave them another shot after last week's 3 slimy pieces of grilled chicken on what was supposed to be a 12" chicken salad sub. During the day, they're okay, but late night orders seem to be horrifyingly bad. read more

I will never go into this establishment again. The assistant manager Jason was rude , disrespectful and combative. I was denied a refund after witnessing the manger cough all over food items. He did not follow any food safety protocols. I left the store completely in tears after being yelled at and disrespected. I can't believe these are the people representing the quick Chek brand. He should NOT be a manger or be able to deal with day to day customers. I can bet money that i am not the first customer to feel the negative raft of Assistant Manager Jason. What do you need at midnight when all of the stores are closed? I bet you'll find it at QC. Ok be reasonable with that question, everything can't be found here it's not Target but anything that you might find in a convenience store. Last minute needs of almond milk, eggs, windex, at least 10 varieties of coffee, made to order hot sandwiches, precut mango, strawberries and Gouda cheese. I could keep going but let's just go with QC is great to pull in off of Valley Road. The cashiers are friendly and don't mind you being nice as well. It's always clean here and well stocked. If you have the munchies or late night craving, you have to try the Herr's honey bbq chips. Love. read more

I have been going to the QUIK chek at 1441 23 south in butler, nj for some time. I have been ordering my triple shot expresso which comes in a shot class so small you cannot pour any sugar or milk In . so I get a plastic cup pour some ice and then sugar and almond milk. one time the manager manager Cathy confronted me that I had to pay 60 cents for the ice which I did. the next time I got a plastic cup no ice added almond milk and sugar she said I had to pay extra for that I said no I did not add ice. she said I still had to pay extra. I said there is no sign saying I have to pay extra. She said I was a liar and was stealing infront of staff and customers!! Said she was going to call the police on me and I was not allowed back I. the store I called corporate and reported the incident . The rest of the staff is very nice but as a manger she should set a good example. I have not heard back from corporate. read more

The employees are always polite and the store is always clean. PROBLEM: every Sunday I go here to buy a Sunday Star Ledger and the paper is missing ALL of the coupons and sales inserts! I have been a long-time customer to this quickchek, since it's nearby my house. It's always pleasant experience until tonight, I got rudely treated. The counter first refused to say hi, and not even look at me. Then she rejected my request of purchasing tobacco tobacco products even after I showed my valid ID with a valid age upon. Until I showed my passport, then she finally decided to sell it to me, but she checked all my visas page by page, this is totally rude and illegal! I don't know if my asian appearance is a reason for that. But this behavior is totally unacceptable! read more

I've been to this quick chek numerous times in the last year or so, 9 out of 10 times the coffee isn't full... I have to wait until they brew a new one. There is only one person running the place.. acts as a cashier and also a coffee person. Its crazy!!! The last time I was there the person running it had a line of customers and had a row in the back of 8 coffee containers lined up to be brewed. They will lose my business as I DO NOT have the time in the morning to stand around waiting for coffee to be replenished. Sad because this place was convenient for me . HIRE more people !!!! PSA DO NKT ORDER SANDWICHES. No matter what time I go to this quick check and order a sandwich my order is always incorrect whether it's the older lady with the gray hair or I'm sorry but the black lady that's always on some kind of drugs. One time I came in and this woman was laying on the back counter sleeping. It was ridiculous and then she proceeded to get all three of our orders wrong. Yet another evening of purchasing spoiled milk that was within dating from Montclair Quick Chek. Out of complete frustration, we attempted to return the milk. It's a Quick Check branded Milk within date, but it is spoiled and has solids floating in it - We were told by the manager that they could not return it without a receipt. I'm not sure how often I even get a receipt and I definitely know I don't hold onto one for Milk. Do any of you? The manager kept the spoiled milk and we are out of the money and the time it took to purchase and then return the milk. Its not the dollar amount -its the princpal. Very Frustrated! Besides from me mowing Doritos at 2 am, and standing back just a weeeee bit from the "sheeps of belligerence" ringing out their drunk munchies and vanilla dutches......quik chek provides more than entertainment and good-natured counter staff.
