Really love their food here, I wish they delivered. But it's worth driving to go and pick up. Their paper wrapped chicken is my favorite little appetizer. The chicken corn soup is delish and the house special crispy pan fried noodle is legit!!! The owner is super sweet, can't say much for his workers he has running the register. Eh oh well. I have come here about 5 or 6 times and the food here hasn't disappointed me. I get the beef and broccoli and it's always hot and tastes great. My wife usually gets the sesame chicken or the orange chicken and she's never complained so it must be good for her as well. It's definitely one of the better ones I've been to in the local area but I usually base that decision off of a locations beef and broccoli because that's my favorite thing to get a Chinese food restaurants. It definitely isn't the best place I've been to hence the 4 stars but it's better than most places around here in my own opinion. read more

Kids were craving Chinese food on a Friday night so we came here (we have been here before) Everyone at the counter was very friendly. We ordered: Mongolian Beef, Walnut Shrimp, Orange Chicken, Vegetable Low Mein, and Chicken w/Mushrooms. You also get the usual white rice with the orders. Food came out super quick. All of the dishes were all great, lots of flavor. All the dishes had good portions of food, great for a family of 5. Worth coming back again and again. read more

GOOD food. Now that that's out of the way, this review is based solely on their customer service, which is BAD. I don't write reviews, but this goes out in the hopes that this restaurant owner, along with ALL restaurant owners, read this and encourage their employees to improve their customer service skills. Scenario as I walked in: empty restaurant, two employees and a cook behind the counter. One employee was eating in plain sight and the other turned away pretending to be too busy to greet me. When she realized the eating employee wasn't going to stop to greet/take my order, she reluctantly walked to the register to help me out. Why can't a patron get a simple smile and hello anymore??? You'd be amazed how much better the food tastes when you're treated like you're a welcomed guest at your location, and when you're not, at least for this diner, it's enough to not want to return. read more

Here is the reason for the two stars. I called for takeout and went on the prices posted here on Yelp. When I went in to pick up, it was $20 more due to price increases NOT posted. When I brought it to their attention, she told me it's been like that since February and that I should have asked the total on the phone! Um, sorry what? It's up to the customer to do your job? No, you provide a total and a time for pickup. The food was great and yes, we may go back, but that attitude in customer service is what will make me seek out Chinese Takeout elsewhere. It's hard to find decent Chinese food in this area, or even Chinese food that doesn't belong to some chain with a surname like Panda or Chang. Fortunately, just across the O-side border, we have Quik Wok. It's nothing fancy, nothing over-the-top wow, nothing that would even register in SF, but the $7 lunches are very filling, fresh-made, and very tasty. The yardstick by which I measure any quick Chinese food, the Kung Pao Chicken, is adequately spicy with decent sauce and not too much oil. Try the walnut shrimp and the house special fried rice served in excellent portions. Service is quick. I took a look at the other dishes ordered and those looked above par also. I've been here a few times and stumbled in out of curiosity. The kitchen looked legit from the outside, so why not? I was not disappointed at all. It's not busy, but business is steady. Don't let it's location deceive you. Seriously. It's probably the best Chinese in the vicinity. I'm willing to say this place gives Chin's that's up the street a run for its money. read more

It's been a while since we've gotten food here, but I remembered it being really good and flavorful. Something has definitely changed. Have they changed ownership in the last 2-3 years? That would be our guess, because we were a little disappointed in our meal. The portion sizes were nice, but it didn't seem as hot, spicy, or as flavorful as it used to be. Hungry for Chinese. GO ELSEWHERE!!!!!! I ask to use their restroom, and what do I see in the back kitchen next to the bathroom, buckets and bins of RAW chicken just sitting there, not being kept cold, like he's thawing this chicken out or something. The buckets were also sitting on a dirty floor. I was shocked, it was absolutely disgusting how and what it all looked like. Mr. Workman, are you that f stupid!!!!! I gave 5 stars because I don't think you can find a better place for 'fast food' Chinese. Hands down this is high end restaurant quality Chinese food in a strip mall setting here in Oceanside. I've been eating here occasionally since 2011 and I'm never disappointed. Service is quick, food is made to order and is hot, delicious and fresh. Expansive menu, tons of items, something for everyone. I ate like a pig last time I was here (check out my photo on Yelp). I don't think you could ask for a better meal in a casual setting like Quik Wok has to offer. I've spent twice as much for Chinese food and the quality wasn't as good as QW. read more

Staff is very friendly, efficient, and helpful. The food is OK. During my visit, I didn't find the restaurant to be especially clean. I also didn't especially enjoy my food. It was oversauced, the veggies didn't taste fresh, and I also found a little bug....though to be fair, the door was open and maybe it landed on - and perished in - my food. I can't say for sure. Either way, it grossed me out. I hate to give them 2 stars, because the staff is exceptionally friendly and helpful, but my overall experience just wasn't that great. read more

I agree with another reviewer: Moo Shu should NOT come preassembled. It makes it get all soggy unless you Hoover your food. I think they do this to give you less skins because when I pay for extra wraps I get eight total at other places but only six at this one. That said, their moo shu is horribly plain and very 'pale' from lack of seasoning. A running theme with these guys it seems, most foods are so Americanized here that it's not good for authentic (or close to) Chinese. The Shrimp with Lobster sauce is the worst I've had. It was bland and they had used regular frozen peas instead of snow peas (apparently nobody notices these guys can't tell the diff), the veggies tasteless and what it sat in was more of a soup than a sauce. The cream cheese wontons were good, but it's pretty hard to eff that up. So, if you like quick and have taste buds that don't care, go ahead and eat here. But I prefer to eat at places where they believe cooking is more than just throwing some ingredients into a wok with a dash of salt and pepper and once it's heated through it's fit for human consumption. Honestly, a dog would turn his nose up at this stuff! After two failed visits, I'd hate to see what a 3rd would be like. read more

I don't often give 5 star reviews but after just eating here, it's deserving. For food I base the experience on service, quality of food, price and cleanliness of the restaurant. They were awesome on all of the above, the entire order was cooked on the spot and delicious. Nothing was sitting out under lamps yet the price was right on par with your traditional fast food Chinese places. Stopped here last night with the family for a late dinner. The good- The food was prepared at superman speed! We were hungry, ordered, got our drinks, sat down for 2 minutes and half the food was being brought to our table! Wow we were impressed! The food was delicious too!! We ordered sweet and sour chicken and haven't had delicious sweet and soir chicken in quite some time. The chicken was cut in fairly big pieces which was nice to have something more then breading on each piece and the best part was that it was crispy!! The sauce wasn't the bright pink sauce we are use to seeing with sweet and soir chicken either which was a nice change. The sauce was incredible and we ate every bite on the plate. Next was Mongolian beef. The beef was so tender it melted in our mouths. The green onions and onions were sauteed to perfection leaving them just a tiny bit crispy and not soggy like other places. The dish was very flavorful and filling. We also got the family combo seafood dish with mushrooms, zucchini, carrots, shrimp, and scallops. Same thing with this. Delicious sauce, everything perfectly cooked and more then 5 shrimp on the plate. Could have used more then 2 scallops but regardless it was delicious. The salad dressing on the salad we ordered was also incredible! It was some type of lemony dressing mmmm so good. Price was good as well. For 3 entrees, an order of fried rice, a side salad and 4 drinks was $50 The not so good- We ordered some fried rice - the meat was cooked great but everything else about the dish was mediocre. It didn't give us that wow factor. Not anything bad just would order something else next time instead. The side salad- aka a bowl of cut iceburg lettuce and sliced carrots. That's it. :( the dressing was great though as described above. And lastly the only drawback about our dining experience here.... The lobby felt pretty dirty. The tables and chairs looked greasy, the floors kinda messy, overall feel of the lobby was that it needed a bottle of bleach and some TLC. Normally we would leave. If the lobby doesn't look right, usually the food follows suit. But it was late and our options were slim. So we stuck it out and ordered anyway. After eating we left and as we got in the car watched them shut off the lights and some of the staff left (within 2 minutes of us walking out the door) dishes were left on the tables, lobby not cleaned up, soda fountain not broke down to some nozzels etc. And definitely not any sweeping or mopping?!? Ewwwww that can't be up to code. That's nasty. I wish I could give this place 5 stars cause for the food it earned it. But really, that is nasty. I wonder what the back kitchen looks like if the lobby is left messy..... read more

They claimed to be better then Panda Express, and boy where they! Very happy with the service it was like traditional sit-down Chinese restaurant, but with an 'panda express' flare. This is a nice clean place in a good location with decent customer service and average prices... the true problem that I noticed was with the food. I came here for the first time with my mom, boyfriend, and my niece. We all ordered different things; Chef Special Beef, Choi Mien, Sweet & Sour Shrimp, and Honey Walnut Shrimp. I tried all of these courses and they all had one thing in common, it's just simply too sweet! Most Chinese foods are expected to be sweet but the food here is just too much. It all tasted really good at first but after a couple more bites the sweetness got overwhelming. I get that the Shrimp courses are supposed to be sweet but the Honey Walnut sauce tasted like it was made with 90% mayo and the Sweet & Sour sauce tasted more like candy than a shrimp sauce. Even the Chef Special beef tasted too sugary and like it had been cooked with leftover bacon grease. By the time we were done I look at everyone's plate and they were all still 80% full. (This is rare in my family.) No one came close to finishing their meals because it got too sweet too fast and all of our stomachs naturally rejected it. I ended up spending $65 for the 4 of us which isn't super expensive however, no one finished even half of their meals and the left overs were never touched (also rare.) My place to go for Chinese. I grew up east coast and this is as close as it gets to good NYC Chinese food. Good proportions, friendly staff. Only 4 stars because of the price. It takes me $18 to get full. I always have gotten food to go. the seating is fine, but not for intimate dining. Again, lots like an east coast, busy, bustling Chinese place. I've tried MANY Chinese places throughout San Diego, but I keep going back to this place. Now I want some dumplings! read more

I usually only get one item here: Plain Noodles with Extra Garlic. This place has THE BEST noodle. EVEN without the veggies and meat. It only costs $4 for the entire take-out box of just noodles. I've had their fried wontons one time, but it's funny because they are just fried wonton WRAPPERS! What happened to the meat!? But you DO get 8 of them and they are super good with Sweet and Sour Sauce. Oh and small detail, this place has really good, spicy, hot mustard if you're into that. They keep it in a small fridge behind the counter so you have to ask for it, but it's super strong. read more

I work down the street from here, so I decided to pick some up for lunch last week. I called in my order ahead of time and went to pick it up and it was ready to go when I got there about 15 minutes later. The guy on the phone was super friendly and he was there when I picked it up as well. He made sure I knew I was calling the Vista Way location... There must be a lot of people getting the different locations confused, so it was nice of him to check! I had the fried rice and potstickers. Since I got it to go and took it back to worth with me, everything was packaged very well and nothing leaked in the bag. The food was SO GOOD and the price was great - cheaper than the places next door to where I work. It's definitely worth it to hop in the car and drive to pick up Quick Wok instead. read more

I'm not the biggest fan of Chinese food, but this place is just delicious, I will always say yes to Quik Wok, because it has never disappointed me. My husband and I have had the House Chow Mein, Orange Chicken, Beef n Broccoli, the Spring Rolls, the Cream Cheese Wontons, and the Kung Pow Chicken. All were amazing!
