What I love about Pho Vista is no secret. Their lemon pepper chicken wings are my absolute favorite...still after all these years. Consistency can go a long way and the food and service has always been great for me. It's a cozy hole in the wall, well corner, establishment alongside other food places like Pollo Loco and Thai One On and Oggis is just on the other lot. We do both dine in and or order takeout from here and as long as it's on the menu we get the Chicken wings. 6 wings for just under $15. They do have lunch specials up to 5 pm so you could get a better combo deal perhaps during their specified time frames. Restaurant is kept nice, clean, and orderly. Comfortable booths and some table dining too. Highly recommend giving them a try! *Not our favorite Wing Wednesday "deal" but we're happy for the wonderful quality and like that we can continue to enjoy their good efforts in maintaining that. read more

WOW! I am a pho lover and the pho here is PHENOMENAL! I got the Chicken Pho with a side of fried rice, and all of the dishes were just so good. It's kind of far so I can't go as often as I want to. The wait staff are kind, I had a great experience with a waitress named Julie, really kind and attentive. The last time I came here my friend got the veggie pho. I looked at it and thought how much better it would be with chicken. So this time I got the veggie pho but with chicken broth and chicken instead of tofu. It was amazzzzzing! Oooh so good! Nice little Vietnamese restaurant, it's typically not ever busy at all, in fact I wish more people in Vista ventured into this place. They make a nice bowl of noodles and both their egg rolls as well as their spring rolls are a nice appetizer. With the amount of Hispanics here in Vista I would have expected more of them to be eating at this restaurant (in Mira Mesa and on Convoy St down in Kearny Mesa you find plenty of Hispanics love them some Phó.) I say take a chance and come support this local small business. If I could add one suggestion it would be to always either have music playing (even their own Vietnamese style music would be fine....just like Chinese restaurants play their own music) or, put the TV on and play some sports. Pho Vista HEALED ME. I had the worst food-borne illness of my entire life, I could not eat solid food for over a week, and a friend swears by this place, she recommended I at least try it. I had the vegetarian broth with silken tofu and egg noodles for the protein, and I was very careful with the fresh herbs and vegetables that came with the meal. This pho genuinely revived me, it brought me back from the brink, it made me feel 1000x better and I am a BELIEVER. I wanted to cry and fall at their feet but I was in my house because I was too weak to go anywhere (thank you, delivery). Broth was very flavorful, added some chili oil and jalapeños for some spice and it was great. Service was quick and we didn't have to wait too long for our order. Ambiance was very basic and plain, not really for aesthetics it wasn't necessarily nice. Bright lights and there are tables and booths as well. No bowl sizes to choose from but it was basically small for $14.95, tipping starts at 15%, and for five bowls of beef pho the total (including tip and tax) came out to $80.92. I have reviewed Phó Vista before, but I just want to say again how much I love this restaurant. The food is always beautifully prepared and delicious, the most consistent, wonderful flavors and different broths for each soup. The egg rolls are nice and crispy and flaming hot brought to the table, the grilled meat, rice dishes, and even condiments are always so fresh and prepared so well! The restaurant is clean, and the booths are comfortable. It's great for families and I very much enjoy meeting my friends there to eat. We visited on Tuesday at 5:20pm and they had a few tables already seated but there was no wait, which was awesome because we are very hungry! Haha I ordered pho beef soup with brisket and we'll done steak and my boyfriend ordered pho beef soup with filet mignon and brisket. It was probably more of a three star takeout experience than 4 but there wasn't anything wrong, and in this day-and-age of even the simplest of details being routinely overlooked; being boring but solid scores better than it used to. Or maybe I'm just becoming crankier. Anyway, it was take out pho from a strip mall. Adequate but not remarkable. I liked how it was deconstructed so that none of the various components were interacting with each other before I decided they should. It didn't get all gross waiting for me to arrive. They used common packaging, which was just fine and comfortable. But better, more suitable packaging exists that keeps your broth separate from the other ingredients; yet still functions pretty much like a bowl you can eat from. When circumstances are such that you don't have a proper bowl it makes the experience a bit more civilized when you find out the packaging played a part in salvaging the experience. They are decent but nothing much more to say about that. It looks like their menu has other great options. Prices have definitely gone up. Service was good. Pho-Ever is a hidden gem, it's right off the 78 freeway. They have plenty of parking and comfortable tables and booths. The service here is amazing and consistent during every visit. The staff/team are friendly and attentive. The food is just as good. The pho is pipping hot and the herbs and such are so fresh. The basil is the best around. The egg rolls are a perfect shareable starter/appetizer and their sauce is tasty. Their curry is the perfect blend. The chicken curry is seasoned with curry and stewed with carrots, potatoes, and onions, in a coconut-based curry soup. Also, it's served with your choice of rice, bread, or vermicelli rice noodles. Hard to pick just one! They do allow you to substitute certain items, which is nice. The large pho is exactly that, LARGE! It's probably the biggest portion around. Wow. Been meaning to try this for a while, and I kind of regret finally doing so. Where to start... First, it's worth noting their online pricing is outdated. I ordered the pork egg rolls and chicken curry to go. When I opened the egg rolls it looked kind of sparse. I looked back on the site and saw it's advertised as 6, not the 4 I received. Apparently they have not updated their website to reflect this. Taste wise the egg rolls were okay, very taro heavy. Could not taste the pork inside. Curry was VERY ginger heavy, and I was already sick and congested, which dulled my taste! The spicy was all burn from ginger. As someone who otherwise loves ginger flavored things, this was not it. Ginger is supposed to be an aromatic to balance flavors, but not take over the entire flavor profile of a dish, which is what it did here. It also lacked that slightly bright, creamy flavor of other Viet curries. It also might be worth noting the potato in the curry was subbed out with more taro. If you don't like taro, this is an FYI. Very different texture from potato. One piece of chicken was terribly hard and chewy compared to others, not sure if it was a reheated piece from another day, and all the chicken was quite grey looking anyway. Bread that came with it was decent. Since this was to-go, I only experienced customer service over the phone. The flair was what you'd expect, culturally speaking. Get your food and go, oh our online prices changed? Too bad. While I appreciate the experience of trying a new place, now I know to stick to good old Mr. Pho. read more

When I came to pick up my order there wasn't a line so when I approached the lady regarding my order, I was asked to wait, cause someone else was ahead of me.... Confused since there was no one else in line... I waited. After a few minutes she motioned me over... as I was paying another customer came to pick up as well and also seemed confused by lack of helpfulness from the lady. Im. It sure if they were short staffed, or she's never worked the front before but I was will to give a pass at the service, until I got home..... there was no utensils and my pho was packed in a rice container?! How was I suppose to eat pho in a rice container?! I have ordered pho many times and NEVER have I EVER had it packed in a rice container! So I was extremely disappointed that I had to go scrambling for a big enough soup bowl from the pantry to transfer my to go order in. Solid pho place next to Thai One On off of Melrose. Serves a basic Vietnamese menu. Brusque customer service, but a noticeably clean dining room, kudos to the staff for that. The good: The best beef broths are excellent, as are the gói cuón. The latter are rice-paper wrapped pork, shrimp, rice vermicelli, lettuce and shredded mint. Their version leans a bit much on the mint but that's a personal taste. The not-as-good: Broth consistency can be a little off, I visited on two separate days and found it watery one time. Also, service can be slow...Pho Ever might be how long you wait on some days! Still, a very good restaurant worth your time if you need your Vietnamese food craving filled. To be honest I ordered food from here by mistake tonight. I have a go to pho spot and got them mixed up. Once I figured it out what I had done I went over to Pho-Ever to pick up my food. I have to admit, both my dish and my girlfriends were more flavorful than my regular spot! The downside was portion size. I'd say my Būn bowl was less than half the size of my regular order I get elsewhere, and had about a third of the meat. My girlfriends meatball pho was also tastier than normal. However it was a large, and she normally gets a small, so while there were more meatballs it wasn't by much. She was also pretty disappointed that she received a single sprig of the veggie leaves she received with the pho where we get an entire sack of greenery from our normal spot. I will say that if the portions were on point Pho-Ever would have new customers after this mix-up, but for now we will have to skip it and stick to our regular place. read more

After searching for good pho in north county, we found Pho Ever. I would say this is one of the better pho places and totally a fan of, except it's a bit pricey (for pho that is). A bowl will cost you a little over $10. However, they do use quality ingredients- like the beef is very tender (filet style). I just wish I had a little more noodles and beef for that price. The broth is very cloudy and flavorful. My first time I thought it was okay. My second time, it was really good. Depends on day maybe. We also like their bun xeo. It's nice and crunchy and not soggy inside. Plenty of shrimp and chicken. Their egg rolls are great too. It took a bit for pho to come out, but totally worth it.
