I skipped Subway because they gave me 2 thin slices of meat for my sandwich. I also noticed they cover the front of the dishes where they prepared the order so we can't see what they're giving us. I went to Quizno's thinking and hoping it would be different, although a bit pricey than Subway. It was the same 2 thin slices of meat and lots of lettuce to make up for the density. The cost is higher because they're toast your bread, but my disappointment was so deep that I immediately sought for your customer service. /the deli was dim, there was only 1 customer, 1 employee and I don't believe your store along Meeker Avenue will last long for the sandwich price and 2 thin slices of meat and heaps of lettuce. I am no vegetarian but I'll buy lettuce from the grocery if I wanted my lettuce sandwich.. I wanted the Quizno that I had years back, with meat we can taste and see and bits of green lettuce and white onions. I work near Meeker Avenue, but be assured my disappointment did not stay with me but will be known by my fellow employees and friends who patronize you. This is the "Quiznos Subs" in the Harbor Gate shopping center in Richmond,CA. It's located at Marina Bay Parkway & Meeker Ave, just south of the I-580 freeway. Recently, a fellow Yelper asked me if I remember Quiznos Subs. Yes, what happened to them? So I did some research, and found out there's three left in the San Francisco Eastbay. They're in Richmond, Hayward, and Fremont. Yesterday I had some free time in Richmond, so I drove out looking for the Quiznos Subs. It's in a familiar place, a strip mall called Harbor Gate shopping center. It was about 2:30pm, when I walked there were already a group of customers at the counter. The place was clean, and had the familiar decor I remember. One lady was working behind the counter. She was doing everything- taking orders, prepping the sandwiches, running the toaster, and then dressing and wrapping. Then when it was time to pay, suddenly this young man pops up and mans the cash register. I order an 8" Tuna Melt on Italian White. I watch the process as the sandwich is placed on a conveyor belt and goes into the toaster. I step up to pay while I'm waiting for my sandwich. The cashier tells me the total ($13.16), and I hand him $14 cash. The cashier said...."Oh, you're paying cash? Hardly anyone uses cash anymore!" Then there was a pause, like he expected me to switch to plastic. I handed him the cash. He said he has to switch his cash register to accept cash and cancel the expected CC transaction. Then he repeated that hardly anyone uses cash here. I noticed it took him a long time to figure out my change. How was the Tuna Melt sandwich? Delicious! That toasted bread was the star of the show. OMG....warm, lightly crispy bread, with a delightful aroma. The tuna salad and all the condiments stayed in the sandwich. Nothing came spilling out. Real Lobster -- Maybe Abalone next time? Honestly, I didn't believe it. Maybe I am too suspicious, but I was almost positive that this would be fake lobster. I mean, if it was real lobster, wouldn't there be big fish tanks, with lobsters swimming all over the place? Okay, I was wrong. I checked with the manager, and he assured me it is actual real lobster. They forced me to try some. It sure tasted like real lobster to me! Today, I ordered the chicken carbonara sandwich, before I realized they had real lobster. I really like that sandwich and I've ordered it many times. It's consistently good. Not too filling, but very tasty. I like to get it on the Parmesan bread. And of course, I like watching it go through that magic toaster oven. It's sort of like watching your car go through a carwash--but with fire instead of water. Next time I'm getting the lobster--it's only about $1 more per a sandwich. I asked if they will soon have lobsters swimming around in those big aquarium tanks, but they said maybe next week. I'm pretty sure they were pulling my leg. I often come here after hiking in Marin. I've always had excellent service and great sandwiches. Plus, it's right across the street from one of my favorite breweries. Next time lobster for sure! I'm also going to request they start stocking abalone. But that means they're going to have to get more aquarium tanks. I don't know if Abalone and Lobster can live together. She was SUPER skimpy with the meat and toppings like she was paying for the ingredients herself. the most important part of a sandwich are the insides correct? I felt like I was eating toast with lettuce. They weigh the meat right in front of you, however I would like to see the number on the scale as I am sure most customers would. Chicken is processed, of course, but looks like really really processed. Pastrami wasn't bad. Disappointing sandwiches but that's what you get when you come to chain sandwich places like these. I was hungry after a bike ride and options are pretty limited heading back toward Oakland. I ordered a large steakhouse sandwich and a large soda. Server was kind of mumbling but I proceeded. I noticed lots of negative reviews here and i think the owners might have noticed and improved on their customer service. I have never had a negative customer service here recently. On the food, lobster sandwich is my favorite and they have always tasted great! I didn't get a chance to ask if they are real but someone here said they are so I am going to have to believe it. It is possible they underperform in other food items on the menu as others distasted them but I wouldn't know because its not my experience. I highly recommend the lobster sandwish here and nothing else. On the price, I paid $22 and although the price is expensive, lobster meals are not cheap anywhere so i am willing to give them a pass on this but they should work on cutting down on prices on other items because chickens and beefs should be cheaper to prepare compared to lobsters. read more

Decided to go to Quiznos located at 2175 Meeker avenue in Richmond for lunch on August 14. We got 2 steps into the business and the person standing behind the counter said did you place an online order? We responded we did not. She then stated I'm sorry I cannot help you I'm going on my 20 minute break! Mind you, there was no indication that anyone was picking up any online orders the place was empty. The food was absolutely disgusting, had no flavor. How does mayonnaise not have any taste?

I rarely feel opinionated enough with an experience to leave such such a negative review and tend to give both people and businesses the benefit of the doubt, however, my experience just now was so absurd that it deserved a post. I ordered an Italian sub ahead of time online for pick up. when I got there, it was not yet ready so I was standing there when the employee was making the sandwich. I noticed she had not added mayo or mustard and so I politely asked her to do so. She responded that she was not allowed to make any modifications from what was online. My bad for not thinking Mayo and mustard was standard. I explained that I understood toppings that would cost extra but that typically mayonnaise and mustard are not charged extra. I then offered to pay for the mayonnaise and mustard , and she still said her boss did not allow her to make any changes to online orders. So I asked her to please provide me a side of mayonnaise and mustard, which I had to pay for separately. The staff member was pleasant and kept apologizing but the absurdity of it all just made for very poor customer service that a customer who is there in person cannot add something as simple as mayonnaise to their sandwich, without having to pay for a whole extra side of it. I had only been here once before, and for sure will not be a repeat customer. $17 for a sandwich with mayo that I will apply myself. I can understand this location's poor ratings. read more

The worst customer service I've had in a long time, when filling my cup fountain drink they ran out I inquired if it could be fixed they said no they ran out of CO2 I said OK I paid for a combo I would like to fix this and I said well you got a couple inches worth of soda in your cup that's good enough. Anyway, I have a place close by and the food is solid. I am very often the only person in there and often eat there 4 to 5 times a week. Phenomenal Service!!! I drove an hour for my birthday to go to Quiznos as a special treat. Audrey helped us & took the time to talk with my mom & myself while she prepared our sandwiches. During a full day of CPR training, I had the pleasure (sarcasm) of having catered lunch from Quiznos. This was probably hands down the WORST SANDWICH I ever had in my entire life. It sounded safe enough, "Turkey Ranch Swiss". It turned out to be MUSHY ass turkey DRENCHED in ranch sauce, with a layer of swiss cheese. It gets worse. There's tons of iceberg lettuce in there (I just realized how much I hate iceberg lettuce). I'm not done yet. There's also stale tomatoes, strategically hidden, I might add. To top it all off, this abomination is served on WHEAT BREAD, as if they wanted to ensure this was the nastiest sandwich they could possibly make. If you're gonna cater a company lunch, do yourself a favor and make the food edible. We have to sit through crap training with no option for lunch. Don't you feel sorry for us as it is? I've never in my life had worse indigestion. Ordered a small pesto chicken sandwich, all $6 of it is now at the bottom of a trash can. The sandwich tasted mushy and low quality and something about the chicken and the mushrooms tasted a little off, but I was very hungry and ate the whole 5" relatively quickly. Well about a half hour after eating it I could feel it rising up, another 30 mins and I couldn't keep this sandwich down. Over the next 20 I proceeded to have to relive this nasty sandwich undigested in reverse! Bleh. Sorry for gross but I wouldn't want anyone to go through this. The customer service, and precautions for COVID 19 are lacking. I ordered a meal for pickup @ 12:40 and when I came in, my sandwich was sitting on top of the sandwich warmer behind the counter, while one worker was making a sandwich and the other was slicing cheese. No acknowledgement upon entry, and then I had to wait for two people to be helped just to pickup an order I'd already paid for. When I told her my name and that I was there for pickup, she put my sandwich in a bag, handed me a cup, and said to get my chips and whatever drink I wanted. Wow. Why is there even the option of choosing those things when you order online if you're going to do it yourself upon pickup? Then, the straws and lids are all out for everyone to touch. On top of that, people are filling their own sodas/drinks and everyone is touching the fill buttons. No sanitizer anywhere. Got back to work, sandwich is cold and barely has any meat in it and needless to say, I'm not going back to this location even though I really like Quizno's. Not sure why I even added a tip, as it was not at all warranted. Management needs to step up on training for better customer service, bag pickup orders for immediate pickup at a counter, and provide sanitizer for customers if they're going to continue to have them fill their own drinks. read more
