I truly appreciate the woman who makes my wraps every time she takes extra time to cut up everything so that it's chopped and it stays in the wrap. Stopped by Sour Dough & Co and tried the Cracked Pepper Turkey sandwich and it did not disappoint. The turkey was fresh and had great flavor, and the cracked pepper seasoning gave it that extra kick that made the sandwich stand out. The sourdough bread was perfect. Soft on the inside with that slightly crisp texture on the outside that sourdough is known for. My rating is more like 3.5 stars. The sandwich is smaller and skinnier than other deli sandwiches I've had and the price is higher than most. I didn't feel like it was affordable nor did I feel like I can justify the cost, therefore, a 3.5 stars. The sandwich itself tasted good. The bread was phenomenal - warm and soft, not too soft, with just enough thickness that it wasn't overwhelming. Every bite tasted like an even portion of everything. I stopped here for the first time to check it out. I would say it was OK. There was nothing specifically wrong with my food, but there was also nothing really amazing with it. I love sourdough and I love deli sandwiches and maybe I set my expectations too high. Pulled up to the grand opening of the new Sourdough & Co in Pinole! Wow, the place was PACKED! The city showed out: mayor, council members, the whole squad, plus owner Mandeep giving a sweet speech before cutting the big red bow. Love a community moment. They were running a promo from 1-4:30PM where you buy a sandwich and get it half off, so you already know the line was out the door. I ordered the 4" Italian with Swiss (classic, super solid), and my wife got the Cholula Chicken on a gluten-free wrap. HUGE win because she can't have gluten, and not every spot does GF options. She legit loved it. And we also loved the pickle, had that snap!I also grabbed a bowl of clam chowder. Creamy, cozy, delish Next time I'm definitely getting it in the bread bowl because... Bay Area tradition. You can't not. Mandeep came around to greet people personally, and even the mayor stopped to chat. They had a wheel to win prizes as well. After trying sandwiches from the Martinez location, so glad we have one in our community. Parking may be an issue because it's at the far end of strip mall with stores and other food options, so lots of cars parking and not moving in/out as often. Service is good, looks like they are still learning the menu, how to make and pack, and the point of sales system, so there may be some hiccups and delays, especially during busy times. With so may options, our favorites so far are: BBQ flatbread pizza Smoked Brisket sandwich Clam Chowder The bread is toasty and the house spread makes each sandwich delicious! When I heard Pinole struck gold on having a Sourdough & Co. I had to check it out. Located in Fitzgerald next to Dollar Tree it isn't a bad location. You would expect it to be small but going inside it isn't small. Great amount of tables to dine inside. Here is the catch...stare at the menu to see the price before ordering. You would be surprise how much a 4 inch, 6 8nch, and 8 inch cost. I didn't bother to see the price of the sandwich. My Roast Beef sandwich was delicious. I was not bothered by the 4 inch but I enjoy how good my sandwich was. They do not toast like Subway or Togos. I like that the bread was not hard to chew on. Since Pinole has a Sourdough & Co. I don't have to go to Martinez, Concord, or Walnut Creek anymore. read more

Sept 11 2025 4.2 stars Technically I am reviewing the pickle. Looks like Pinole scored a winner with Sourdough. The inside is bright and bustling with many staff and customers. I'm sure the pumped in music might be loud for some but they won my heart playing Hotel California. My wife ordered herself a Pastrami with Swiss. To paraphrase Henry Ford, you can have any sandwich bread you want as long as it's Sourdough. The staff seems eager and helpful. The cashier with a smile and charming. Too bad she had no name tag hence no shoutout today. I am on a modified Fast which doesn't include "food" but I watched with enjoyment as the wife dove into her half sandwich. Vegetable and bread bits showering her lap. A thick pile of steamy hot meat oozing juices. Toasted warm fresh bread crunching. Both of our mouth were watering. Upon finishing her meal in record time, when forced for comments, she stated the sandwich was a little bland. (the way she devoured it she must be into "bland"). I took "bland" to mean it wasn't too salty and could have used some horseradish or mustard and maybe au jus to dip it in. I went to remove napkins from the to go bag and felt an unexpected weight. Is that a pickle? Yes! That is on my diet and oh boy it was crunchy and refreshing. I'm looking forward to having a sandwich for myself with my next pickle at Sourdough Pinole! read more

Came here for lunch one day. I was excited to try the sourdough company sandwiches and end up ordering the pastrami sandwich with their house sauce. After I ordered went to use the bathroom and wash my hands. Food was done when I came out which was surprising. I was happy that I didn't have to wait to long. But I was disappointed with the sandwich itself. It tastes good but where's the meat? Had about 2-3 slices of meat and a bunch of bread. The ratio was not good. Give them a try for yourself? When I searched for gluten free on the yelp search, Sourdough & Co popped up. I was so happy Pinole allowed this store to open up here. This is way better than Subway. Good quality meat and bread. Better deals. So I called and they have gluten free options available. I believe we spoke to the owner because when we arrived, she made sure she did not cross contaminate while making our sandwiches. Very small space for seating but overall good food. Not sure The clam chowder was just ok...I'd rate it a 5/10. The sourdough is not what I'm used to. It was too soft . I guess I'm used to more of a sourdough hard roll. Sandwiches were wrapped well but the ingredients didn't look appetizing. The lettuce was the real turn off because you can clearly see the lettuce was turning brown. I'be been looking for this sandwich shop to try. After going to Lucky's I found it. It's so small I kept missing it. I walked up past Liquor Store & there it was! Haha I walked in & was greeted right away. I ordered a #6 larger which is 1 of my favorites. It took awhile (10mins) to get my sandwich made. There's no choice of bread jus 1 type. But it was very fresh & crunchy when you bite into the sandwich Mmmmm good But take small bites you'll enjoy it much more! Delicious I'll have to comeback to try their other sandwich's & soup . Last week, I came into the store to order a sandwich, and Mandeep was working the register. As I placed my order, she was incredibly patient with me. I was having difficulty standing and even speaking, and she immediately noticed. Mandeep kindly offered for me to have a seat and told me she would bring my sandwich out to me. Without going into too much detail, I was dealing with a medical issue at the time and was clearly not feeling well. Mandeep truly went above and beyond to make sure I was okay. Her compassion, attentiveness, and willingness to help went above and beyond. I so appreciate her going the extra mile and showing such care when she saw I was in such bad shape. The people who work here were attentive and friendly. It looks to be a family-owned business because I definitely heard someone calling one of the kitchen staff "Ma". My order was to go and they brought everything out to the table where I was sitting at instead of yelling out my name to get it from the counter. That's great service and definite plus. I ordered 3 sandwiches, 2 sides of mac & cheese, the mushroom flatbread, and a bowl of clam chowder. With 15% tip, the total came to $101. I really wanted to like this place because it's nearer to me than Jersey Mike's (my personal fave). The flat bread was small for the price and while the flavor was good, it was soggy. The mac and cheese sides were almost $8 each and it was bad. I could taste the flour in the cheese sauce and it was grainy. The clam chowder was good. Sandwiches were okay. I'd like to give 2.5 stars but since I can't, bumped it up to 3 due to the service. Wish there were no stars... I ordered a clam chowder sourdough bowl to go. I got home and had a cup of soup with three small slices of bread; no sourdough bowl. I was the first and only customer. I called back to let them know. The woman in charge doesn't speak or understand much English; I had to explain more than once what I wanted; she couldn't understand me and I couldn't understand her. Place was clean and empty. Was so disappointed I didn't get the bowl, I forgot: I paid for a clam chowder bowl and got a cup. Also, they open at 10:30; they were not ready for business when they opened their doors; should come in early and set up before open doors. For me, spending nearly $13 for a 6"-ish Chicken Salad sandwich is a lot of money. Imagine my disappointment when I opened it & found a sandwich that resembled a dirty diaper (see pics). Looking past the visuals, I decided to take a bite. That was a mistake because I soon realised I spent nearly $13 on a mustard sandwich. The best part about this sloppy mess was that it fell apart, preventing me from taking any further bites. Sourdough & Co. will be happy to know the parking lot pigeons enjoyed a lovely mustard sandwich. I, on the other hand, went to KFC. Not only was the sandwich abysmal, but the service was lackluster... Walking in & hearing unmotivated & melancholic, borderline monotoned "welcome," set the tone for sadness & despair. And just because I was greeted with sad "welcomes" at the door doesn't mean the cashier shouldn't greet the customer. The cashier should still greet the customer. Blurting out "for here or to go," doesn't count as a greeting. I should've said, "To go," & walked out. Needless to say, I will never go back to this establishment. I, like most of America, work too hard for my money & can't afford to spend it unwisely. When I decide to patronise a business I expect good basic customer service. It wasn't the best experience. The Mac and Cheese from the kids menu was pretty terrible. My child, who usually adores Mac and Cheese, couldn't even keep it down and ended up getting sick. I decided to try it myself, and I have to agree, it was not good at all. I can't understand why they would serve something like that. I would rate this place a two out of five.
