When hiring someone to work on my house, one of the most important things to me is feeling comfortable around the person and feeling safe in my home with them on my property. Reed is extremely personable and all communication was excellent, which put me at ease before he even got here. He came out to do the gutter cleaning but I hadn't mentioned the gutters had guards so he ended up needing to come back to do the job, however he went up and removed the visible trees starting to grow out of the gutters while he was here the first time, which I really appreciated. This is the first time I've had gutters cleaned and I wasn't aware the guards were an issue, so if you have guards, mention it up front to avoid any issues. He came back and instantly got to work. I have a large home so it took him a few hours to clean the gardens that had started growing in my gutters. When he was done, all the greenery was gone from my gutters and the downspouts were cleaned out. This is going to sound weird but I am looking forward to the next time it rains so I can see how the gutters are supposed to work. Since purchasing the home, the rain has been pouring over the edge of the gutter and the soffits had started to sag in places where the little trees had started growing. After he was done, there was noticeably less sagging in the soffits, which I was very happy to see. The guards were obviously not working as intended because as I said, there were little trees growing, so we discussed it and decided to not put them back on. Next year, we will have him install a different type of guard system that will hopefully work better than what was in the house when I purchased it. Overall I was extremely pleased with Reeds work and my interactions with him and would suggest him to friends or family needing their gutters cleaned. He is an extremely hard working man and I will definitely be using him the next time anything needs to be done with the gutters. Give him a try! You won't regret it. read more

Reed and I were in communication leading up to the job, then on the day of the job he was a no show, nor respond to phone calls or text messages. I will not do business with him, and I would not recommend anyone else contract with him because this is unacceptable. I am a property manager who needed to coordinate three different properties for this job. Unfortunately I need to write a review that relates to window cleaning service that is not positive. I contacted R&A windows and Reed replied with a price to clean my windows and a scheduled day. Reed said he could not make it the scheduled day and came the next day. Reed mentioned he was finished cleaning all the windows and I paid him for his services. The next morning when the sun was shining in I noticed that a few windows were not cleaned properly. I have contacted Reed and he failed to return to complete the cleaning. Reed was a good guy at the beginning then quickly changed to a different person. A simple fast $100 job has turned into a 3 month long pain in the butt. He came over and took our downspout off to build another one. Weeks later after bugging him over and over and writing a 1 star review he finally came back and installed the downspout. (And got angry with me and told me to take the review off. ) He took so long he waved the charge. Now that we have rain, I am finding out the downspout he built leaks in 2 places. We tried texting, calling, no reponse. I called him and his text said "I am busy, do you want me to drop all my other customers to come fix your downspout?" (YES! Unfortunately, we had a very disappointing experience with Reed. He came by our home one day while we were at work to clean the gutters. After he was "finished" he texted me photos saying that he was done. I noticed that the photos were only on one side of the home. Sure enough, when I got home I could clearly see that he missed a spot. He apologized and said that he would come back to get the spot, which he did. Again, he only showed partial photos and sure enough left an entire section of the gutter untouched which we only discovered a few weeks later after dealing with a leak in our roof. Positive: (1) Reed came on time to do cleaning/sealing of our gutter, cleaning of the skylight window and blowing debris/small rocks off the roof. (2) Reasonable price. (3) Efficient. Negative: (1) When Reed was done removing the dirt/leaves from the gutter, I offered him to use our shop vac to vacuum off the remainder of the debris from the gutter. He said no, he would just use his blower to blow away the rest of the debris. Yes, he did. The perimeter of our property now has dirt and shingle nuggets all over. He did not bother to clean them up. (2) Worst, he blew off the dirt, debris and rocks from the gutter and the roof onto/into our brand new AC. Now, our high-end new AC has dirt and debris on the cement base, wires, pipes and cables outside, dirt, debris and rocks on top of the AC, on the fan blades and the fan motor, in the coil, on the copper pipes, electrical wires, and the base tray of the AC Inside. Overall, he is careless and not paying attention to looking down at what's below. It will cost us a large amount of money to have our new hospital grade AC clean up professionally. If the coils and the big motor inside the AC get damaged, we may have to replace the whole AC, which is nearly $20,000. If that happens, we hope his business insurance covers that much. My advice to Reed is, pay attention to a little detail. Always look around and below when you are blowing off debris from the roof or the gutter. Use a small vacuum on the gutter. If you see obvious objects below, like an AC, use a plastic sheet to cover the object or ask the property owners if they have an AC cover. Carefulness and clear communication with the property owners is very important. Because of the potential damage to our new AC, I can only give two stars instead of five. Wow!! What I thought was a mutually, beneficial project - me hiring him as he was just starting out and him being lower than one of the other quotes- turned out to a huge mistake. This is the second time I've asked him to come out since the installation in June because the gutters seem lifted, and there are gaps. The first time he came out was almost immediately after the initial install, and he did fix the issue that I noticed at the time but his texts were snarky and unprofessional. Fast forward to today when trying to confirm his appointment to come out tomorrow because once again, I am seeing uneven sections and lifting of the gutter guards. Not only did he decide that he is now not going to come out without me paying him, even though not even been 6 months since the initial install and I have this supposed lifetime guarantee on his work , His texts were RUDE and extremely unprofessional. I guess this business is no longer in business. I've been trying to get a hold of the owner for the last few days, with no luck. Reed came and did work at my home in November of 2023. Initially, everything seemed fine. This past weekend, a problem with his installation occurred. I sent a couple of messages to Reed regarding the issue. However, he has not responded to me. After numerous calls and attempts to get him to complete the work he still didn't finish as discussed. I'm now having problems of leaking downspouts and also he was supposed to re pitch slope on the gutters. I never got pictures of before and after on the gutter cleaning. I'm don't think he even cleaned them. Also mentioned that he could not install gutter guards on the second story. He should have mentioned that to me in our initial conversation. Reed Bisca of R&A Home Improvements started out really well as he was responsive, eager, did fine handyman work, was easy to work with, priced well, and was a nice guy, BUT he did not come back to finish the job. My opinion is that the above good qualities went BAD like DAY versus NIGHT - he stopped responding to texts, but he would sometimes respond weeks later after multiple texts to him, he would answer a call sometimes, and he even made a follow-up appointment after several delays BUT did not show up and did not call or text. Many months later the basic work is still unfinished. For weeks, he claimed that he had to renew his business insurance, but he claimed that after-the-fact, and then AFTER that renewal excuse he scheduled and then missed the follow-up appt anyway.
