    Fried Jalapenos

This was my first time to dine in. It seems like it is the most popular restaurant in town. Every table was full, there was a line to cash out and line to get a table. Cashier was doing her best to manage. Welcome to Friday night. Lol. Know one really wanted to take care of me right away. Finally, a young Hispanic gir,l asked if I had been helped. Another girl asked if I would like some rolls while I wait. Lots of friendly conversations around and the Sweet Tea was Popular. I ordered the Fried Jalapenos for 5.99 I expected a few Jalapeno poppers like from Sonic instead it was a plate full. They are so good. Spicy and crispy. It was too much for me and after awhile I got a stomach ache. Overall, the service was great, friendly atmosphere, great prices and tasty food. I would recommend this place.

This little restaurant is amazing! If I could give service 10 stars I would. They took our drink order as soon as we sat down. Our food came out quick. Although it was during lunch rush, the waitresses constantly refilled our drinks. Everyone working there was so kind. The food was delicious and reasonably priced. I have no complaints.

Food was so good. Will definitely go again when back in town. Everything we ate tasted homemade.

We were recommended to check this place out while we are visiting Texas. I'm glad we went! R&K brings that rustic, classic country eating that I miss! The interior is old town style and has that Texas charm. Our server was friendly, quick and easy going. Our group of three all had their coffee, which was excellent, and the country fried steak combo. You get PLENTY of food for $12! In the photo was my platter PLUS a side of biscuits and gravy. Now that's the kind of breakfast you can't get just anywhere. Their country fried steak was delicious and breaded perfectly. I got hash browns with my steak and they were seasoned to perfection. Try the gravy! And get extra because it's delicious! As we left, we also bought a slice of pecan pie and that was the perfect touch to our breakfast. Will be back.

Supposed to be beef tips stroganoff. It was inedible and disgusting.

Run away. The once stable and consistent local cafe is now in a state of turmoil. Crazy guy in tattered shorts running around yelling at customers, disrupting service and causing all kinds of uncomfortable issues. Food looks like hamburger helper and tastes a LOT worse. The salad bar looks like a trough... ill kept, nasty cross contamination, empty containers. Sad thing is the servers are amazing, as is the manager. I miss the days when the steaks, pork chops and beef stroganoff were amazing.

R & K Cafe makes classic home cooked meals. Today, I had the chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes & gravy, green beans and a side salad. Warm rolls too! The meal was $16.00 and the wait staff was very friendly and never let the ice-tea go empty. The restaurant is very open with a nice salad bar if your just wanting an endless salad. Open seating and you will be waited on immediately after choosing your table. Nice local family restaurant.

She was very direct and told us upfront it would be about a 20-minute wait, which I appreciated. While we waited, I sat in the car listening to the thunder and rain. There was something peaceful and simple about that moment and I loved it. My husband stayed inside to wait for the food. During that time, a couple came back in upset about the wait and asked for their money back. The owner had just returned from a family event and was clearly trying her best to make things right. Even when the couple was rude, she handled it with grace and empathy, saying, "I'm sad that we failed you." It was such a human moment. One that showed how much she cares about her customers and her business. And our hamburgers were absolutely delicious! Definitely worth the wait. I enjoyed everything about this experience. Support small businesses like this one, friends! It's a hidden gem where real people work hard and care deeply about what they serve.

Unfortunately, this place missed the mark for me. Ordering was easy as they specialize in burgers with and the lady at the window was friendly enough. The kid and I both ordered the mission burger, which is 2 smash patties, cheese, and their special sauce. I added grilled onion to mine and he ordered a side of fries. I could tell when I looked at the patties I would be disappointed. They weren't really smash patties at all, more like the size and shape of a McDonald's quarter pounder. They tasted like the prepackaged patties you would get out of a box or bag. I can't say for sure, but the quality was just not great. I've eaten my fair share of burgers around the metroplex, so I know good quality when I have it. The kid enjoyed his food and the fries were really good, hence the 3 stars. At $11 for the basic burger, I wouldn't visit again. I hate leaving reviews like this!

She got home and started pulling out said sandwiches and sides only to discover they had not included my intended pork sandwich. I asked the wife to call back up to them and let them know I was coming back into town to get my sandwich. $5 is $5 at this point and I wouldn't have anything but sides if I didn't head back into town. Got told when I got there by the female manager on duty tonight that I was lying and I had probably ate it already so was coming back to try and steal another from them. Long story, finally got my pork sandwich the wife paid for and, thankfully a little later I found out, a burger too. Got home, opened the pork sandwich and pathetic pork sandwich is a better name for it. Literally one small spoon size line of pork meat in the center of the otherwise dry bottom bun and four pickles with a swipe of some red sauce that smells like cheap bbq sauce on the top bun. Found out as well that they never picked up the phone the whole time I was gone to correct the issue that way so wife got a constant busy signal for over thirty minutes. Also, at least half of what we did get at first was cold (cheesy fries), burnt (onion rings), or chewy/undercooked (wacky pack chicken tenders) depending on item. Overall, the pathetic pork just cost me $5+ gas because no one wants to eat it with how it looks and wasted gas driving back and forth from Cleburne for this pathetic pork sandwich. Moral of the story: Don't waste your time or money.
