We enjoyed it. We stopped here after a musical in Cleburne. The Breakroom is in a metal building. The hostess station is just inside the front entry with the bar near there too. The dining room is separated from the bar area. It has 10' side walls and open, high ceilings. There's a couple of TVs in the dining room and a couple of ceiling fans. There's HVAC vents hanging down and there are 2 mini splits. It's nearly 100F outside and it's comfortable enough (not real cool) in here. Our server, Penelope, was quite pleasant. She was able to answer our food questions and give us recommendations. They use handheld order taking devices. I like that. I had a Shiner Boch to start and my wife had a Margarita rocks - no salt. Both drinks came out lightning fast. My beer was nice and cold and her margarita was real tasty and not too sweet. For dinner, I ordered the smaller order of Fried Catfish with a side. I had Tots. The fish filet was large, thin-battered, crispy and hot. The tots side was huge, crispy, hot and tasty. A great fried food meal. Took some of it home too. My wife ordered the Street Tacos. She was able to eat 2 of the 3 and she enjoyed them. Their homemade salsa was good and it had some heat to it. We brought her 3rd taco home. Pricing was fair. Service was great and fast. Hidden gem on the outskirts of town. The bar and dining area is one big darkened room (helps enormously with the brutal Texas sun!!!) but the noise level somehow doesn't get too loud. The food is delicious and the beer is good (and cold!) and the waitresses check on you just the right amount of times. read more

Stopped by to have dinner and drinks with some friends. Service was quick and we had someone checking on us every 10-15 minutes or so but it also seemed like a slow night. The place is in what looks to be an old barn which is pretty typical for rural bars like this. Very big and open with an outback patio that goes to a dock overlooking a small tank. I had a few of the smoked old fashioned that were pretty decent. What really surprised me was the food! The chicken fried steak is probably one of the best in the area! I also tried my buddy's catfish and it was surprisingly delicious as well. Nice thick cuts that weren't just a mouthful of breading. The mac was decent but the fries left something to be desired, definitely were frozen. Would definitely come back if I was in the area. read more

We were daytripping out west of DFW for my birthday, just taking a relaxed drive. When dinner time rolled around, many places were closed after 6 or 7, but we found a welcoming country restaurant south of Cleburne that had friendly people, good food and a lovely sunset as it turned out. The Break Room Brewing Company is about 4 miles south of the heart of town with an expansive dining room, separate bar area, terrific patio with a pond and ample private parking. They have a terrific menu here. I ordered the Fried Catfish Basket served with two sides. One filet was $9.00, two for $15.00. I selected one filet with fried okra and garlic mashed potatoes. I love fried okra. I also ordered the house salad - Crisp romaine, bacon, tomatoes, cheese, egg, croutons & your choice of dressing for $6. My husband went for the Two Fried Pork Chops topped with a brown sugar bourbon glaze served with your choice of two sides ($18). He had the baked potato, onion rings AND also ordered a house salad when he saw mine!! The house salads were wonderful. We asked for cucumber to be added and it was a refreshing and generous start to our meal. My catfish filet was large! and cooked perfectly. Yum. But the mashed potatoes had little to no garlic flavor. They were okay as mashed potatoes go - a little clunky. The fried okra though was an enormous platter of deliciously seasoned and scrumptious veggie that I couldn't stop eating. SO GOOD. My husband found his pork chop chewy. I didn't find that out until later because he concentrated on devouring a HUGE baked potato. HUGE. He really enjoys a good baked potato. His onion rings were battered well, crispy with firm tasty onion inside. I thought they were terrific. Service was impeccable. Our waitress was so kind. It was my actual birthday and although I had been celebrating for several days, she and my husband set up a cheese cake surprise to go that was so very good later! We would like to return in more temperate weather and dine out on the patio. A very pretty multi bulb lit spot, I loved it. The Break Room in Cleburne was impressive with the excellent food, wait staff, and live music ! I decided on chicken fried steak, green beans and sweet potato fries. WOW, glad I was hungry. They serve alcohol so vodka and cranberry juice was my selection since we had a designated driver. The establishment was crowded but well worth the wait and I will definitely be going back! Santa was there to hear any of the last-minute children's request. What fun!! The Break Room has a very large parking area for us newcomers, and all of the regular customers. I recommend you take a break from cooking dinner and let these folks impress you with their steaks, shrimp, burgers and more. I must say I like to see the owner walk around and greet customers, chatting with the regulars, and making you feel at home whether you're eating or sitting at the bar having a drink. Stopped in for a quick lunch while out on the road. Extra bonus, they have a couple of their own brews on tap, including a very nice session IPA. Nice diner menu, with burgers, sandwiches, and dinner plates. We opted for cheeseburgers, even had a choice of jalapeno sourdough, reg. sourdough, or plain bun. Chose fries and onion rings for the sides, and everything was very good and tasty. Lots of places do the sides as an afterthought, but this place doesn't have that problem. The burger meat itself looked like hand formed patties, and were very good! Our server was friendly and welcoming, and service was fast and efficient. We went here recently because it says it's a Brewing Company, tho upon entering, we find out it's just a name. They don't brew their own beers. They do offer beer and a full bar, they have a decent menu, but if you are looking for craft beer made in house, this isn't the place. The food was decent. Nothing to really write home about. Samplings were small compared to the prices. The inside is very rustic, old farm house decor. If I recall, there is a pond in the back with seating. They do have a spot for live bands, so that's cool. It was worth trying, tho it wasn't good enough on our palette to make the return trip. read more

Stopped by on a Monday night during a camping trip to Cleburne State Park. It was 105 that day, so we dragged in like a bunch of hot hillbillies. There is a small bar as you enter the building, and dining is on the left. There is also a patio, but 105 degrees and and patio aren't combinations we like to entertain. Service was a little slow, but our waitress was nice. We ordered the porkchops with grilled veggies and a salad; a cheeseburger; a small catfish platter; and the shrimp scampi pasta. Everything was delicious except the shrimp pasta. No flavor at all on this one. I also didn't care much for the grilled vegetables because they lacked any sort of seasoning and were very oily. However, the pork chops are definitely a must try and the burger was excellent!! Ranch is legit (homemade) so that was a plus for us as well! Would definitely return! read more

I think this used to be Prickly Pear cafe but the food is just as good as it was. I had the chicken fried steak with sweet potato fries and fried okra. It also had Texas toast on the plate. Ok been wanting to stop in this place because their flags outside advertise BEER & RIBEYES lol Welp we stopped in early on a Wednesday, we didn't get ribeyes (the prime rib had just finished cooking too and we didn't get that either ) BUT we did beers and fried catfish and OH MAN was that catfish guuuddd!! We also got the pretzels & queso as an appetizer and it was very good! Maybe like a sourdough pretzel & very good cheesy queso & not queso like the fake nachos queso. In town for baseball and wanted to find somewhere local. This is outside the town a little bit but not far. Restaurant is clean and nice on the inside. We came as a group of 9. Service was good and wait staff was friendly. We were promptly seated. Food ordered was fried pickles, fried jalapeños, Ruben, catfish, chicken sandwich, baked potatoes, tacos, grilled shrimp. The Reuben is not traditional at all so don't expect that. Food and onion rings were cold, potatoes were not fully cooked, friend pickles are really good and a healthy potion. Jalapeños were plentiful as well but not as good. They forgot an order of the grilled shrimp then brought fried shrimp after asking the status. However the fried shrimp was good. Amazing food! We came from Arlington and were not disappointed. I had the chicken Marsala. It tasted incredible. The Marsala had to have been great quality because I tasted the quality of a good wine. The chicken was tender and I cant remember what the sides were because all I could remember was the chicken. My best friend had the catfish and when I saw it I had to order one to go for my hubby who said that was the best catfish he has had in a very long time. It was perfectly cooked, it was meaty (didn't taste like cardboard as catfish often does) and we all said we would go back soon (worth an hour driving). Service was impeccable. And after 3 and some of us , being Middle Aged, 4 beers we were CUT OFF. mind you we had been eating 5 baskets of a dozen wings. We had only been there a little over an hour. The Manager Was Beyond Unprofessional and Rude. I had personally spoken on my having a hot flash.... Normal for 56 Year old woman... Well, to him that meant I was inebriated !!! I definitely had made clear I was not a driver, but none the less We were all cut off. ABSOLUTELY UNBELIEVABLE. 2nd time we've had food here and gave it the benefit of the doubt.... Very friendly and prompt service, our waitress checked on us several times during our meal, even tho it was very busy. Food was great and plenty of it! I got the half order of catfish which is enough for one unless your a big eater. My husband got the chicken strips- a little heavy on the breading but chicken was fresh cut and cooked juicy and tender. He would order them again.
