    Fried Jalapenos

This was my first time to dine in. It seems like it is the most popular restaurant in town. Every table was full, there was a line to cash out and line to get a table. Cashier was doing her best to manage. Welcome to Friday night. Lol. Know one really wanted to take care of me right away. Finally, a young Hispanic gir,l asked if I had been helped. Another girl asked if I would like some rolls while I wait. Lots of friendly conversations around and the Sweet Tea was Popular. I ordered the Fried Jalapenos for 5.99 I expected a few Jalapeno poppers like from Sonic instead it was a plate full. They are so good. Spicy and crispy. It was too much for me and after awhile I got a stomach ache. Overall, the service was great, friendly atmosphere, great prices and tasty food. I would recommend this place.

This little restaurant is amazing! If I could give service 10 stars I would. They took our drink order as soon as we sat down. Our food came out quick. Although it was during lunch rush, the waitresses constantly refilled our drinks. Everyone working there was so kind. The food was delicious and reasonably priced. I have no complaints.

Food was so good. Will definitely go again when back in town. Everything we ate tasted homemade.

We were recommended to check this place out while we are visiting Texas. I'm glad we went! R&K brings that rustic, classic country eating that I miss! The interior is old town style and has that Texas charm. Our server was friendly, quick and easy going. Our group of three all had their coffee, which was excellent, and the country fried steak combo. You get PLENTY of food for $12! In the photo was my platter PLUS a side of biscuits and gravy. Now that's the kind of breakfast you can't get just anywhere. Their country fried steak was delicious and breaded perfectly. I got hash browns with my steak and they were seasoned to perfection. Try the gravy! And get extra because it's delicious! As we left, we also bought a slice of pecan pie and that was the perfect touch to our breakfast. Will be back.

Supposed to be beef tips stroganoff. It was inedible and disgusting.

Run away. The once stable and consistent local cafe is now in a state of turmoil. Crazy guy in tattered shorts running around yelling at customers, disrupting service and causing all kinds of uncomfortable issues. Food looks like hamburger helper and tastes a LOT worse. The salad bar looks like a trough... ill kept, nasty cross contamination, empty containers. Sad thing is the servers are amazing, as is the manager. I miss the days when the steaks, pork chops and beef stroganoff were amazing.

The dining room is separated from the bar area. It has 10' side walls and open, high ceilings. There's a couple of TVs in the dining room and a couple of ceiling fans. There's HVAC vents hanging down and there are 2 mini splits. It's nearly 100F outside and it's comfortable enough (not real cool) in here. Our server, Penelope, was quite pleasant. She was able to answer our food questions and give us recommendations. They use handheld order taking devices. I like that. I had a Shiner Boch to start and my wife had a Margarita rocks - no salt. Both drinks came out lightning fast. My beer was nice and cold and her margarita was real tasty and not too sweet. For dinner, I ordered the smaller order of Fried Catfish with a side. I had Tots. The fish filet was large, thin-battered, crispy and hot. The tots side was huge, crispy, hot and tasty. A great fried food meal. Took some of it home too. My wife ordered the Street Tacos. She was able to eat 2 of the 3 and she enjoyed them. Their homemade salsa was good and it had some heat to it. We brought her 3rd taco home. Pricing was fair. Service was great and fast. Good tasted great. We'll be back to the Break Room.

She was very direct and told us upfront it would be about a 20-minute wait, which I appreciated. While we waited, I sat in the car listening to the thunder and rain. There was something peaceful and simple about that moment and I loved it. My husband stayed inside to wait for the food. During that time, a couple came back in upset about the wait and asked for their money back. The owner had just returned from a family event and was clearly trying her best to make things right. Even when the couple was rude, she handled it with grace and empathy, saying, "I'm sad that we failed you." It was such a human moment. One that showed how much she cares about her customers and her business. And our hamburgers were absolutely delicious! Definitely worth the wait. I enjoyed everything about this experience. Support small businesses like this one, friends! It's a hidden gem where real people work hard and care deeply about what they serve.

oh-emm-gee.. this wasn't just bad.. this was like, "we're going to talk about this for years to…read morecome"-awful.. my wife's food was unidentifiable as being the dish she ordered, the owner or manager or whatever came over to argue with her about it when she sent it back. Then he told us it was the waitress's fault. My meal was only just terrible, but i could identify kind of what it was supposed to be, and i could clearly recognize the french fries. A couple at another table had chicken and waffles with way undercooked chicken.. Too bad, i wanted to like this place. I really like old school mom & pop diners a lot more than just another chain, and this place has the vibe i was after. I just should have brought food from somewhere else.

This meal was so good, I barely remembered to take a picture before devouring half of it. (The photo evidence will either prove my lack of social media skills or just how ridiculously good this food was. Let's go with the second one.) Now, let's talk about this feast: Chicken Fried Steak--crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and smothered in a rich, creamy gravy that could make even the most devoted vegetarian rethink their life choices. Creamy Mashed Potatoes--also generously blanketed in that same glorious gravy, because if you're going to do comfort food, do it right. Green Beans--but not just any green beans, the homemade kind with little bits of bacon that make you feel like someone's grandma made them with love. Dinner Rolls--fluffy, buttery, and downright dangerous. You tell yourself you'll eat one, but then another one magically disappears, and you're left wondering what happened. To top it off, the service was A++. Our waitress was on it--attentive but not hovering, friendly but not fake, and she made sure we had everything we needed while my cousin and I caught up on years of life. And the timing? Perfect. The place was just busy enough to have a good vibe but not so packed that we had to shout across the table. Final verdict: Highly recommend. If you find yourself in Cleburne, go. If you don't find yourself in Cleburne, maybe you should. And yes, I'll be back--probably still forgetting to take a picture until it's too late.
