She was able to answer our food questions and give us recommendations. They use handheld order taking devices. I like that. I had a Shiner Boch to start and my wife had a Margarita rocks - no salt. Both drinks came out lightning fast. My beer was nice and cold and her margarita was real tasty and not too sweet. For dinner, I ordered the smaller order of Fried Catfish with a side. I had Tots. The fish filet was large, thin-battered, crispy and hot. The tots side was huge, crispy, hot and tasty. A great fried food meal. Took some of it home too. My wife ordered the Street Tacos. She was very direct and told us upfront it would be about a 20-minute wait, which I appreciated. While we waited, I sat in the car listening to the thunder and rain. There was something peaceful and simple about that moment and I loved it. My husband stayed inside to wait for the food. During that time, a couple came back in upset about the wait and asked for their money back. The owner had just returned from a family event and was clearly trying her best to make things right. Even when the couple was rude, she handled it with grace and empathy, saying, "I'm sad that we failed you." It was such a human moment. Mine had romaine lettuce, tomato, red onion, pickles, and mustard, and everything tasted fresh. Kincaid's is still my #1 and Marty B's near Argyle is #2 for me, but Best Burger Barn is a strong #3 and still in my top 5 burgers. Only downside is the inside could use a little updating since it feels a bit run down. But if you're going for the burger, it's definitely worth it.
