Been taking my Yamaha Vstar 1100 to Rob for about 5 years now. He always tells me what's going on with it...what are real problems to fix, and what can wait. He charges a fair price for work done. So I had to pick up my truck with a tow truck still not working , he had the truck for over two years . He has been hiding. Ita been many excuses . He seems like a friendly guy, the opposite of that. This guy is absolute trash!!!! I took my truck to get it fixed on at his shop and all he did was take $5500 for me and told me he was gonna buy parts, and never once he laid a finger on my truck. My truck was at the shop well over two years , I've been calling and calling him send him messages and he will not respond. I even picked up my truck, which was the same way. The man who runs this business is a dishonest thief. I gave him my car two months ago November 24, 2025, along with $800 (my huge mistake), Rob destroyed my car tearing my interior apart and never fixed it the original issue this is vandalism and theft. I had to have my vehicle towed to a genuine shop at an additional cost of $175. I can assure you that any positive review given on this platform is totally FALSE!!! I regret ever meeting him, and I can promise he will be sued along with reporting him to I the BBB the Secretary of State and every other platform I can find to try to stop him from doing this to anyone else. Robb is an absolute charlatan, do not trust this man. He said he would sell my truck for me. He has now had the truck since December 2022. He said he would sell it for $8000. He has given me $2000 back and tells me that he put so much money repairing the truck that he never get the money he put back in. R & L Automotive just recently moved locations... so it's kind of hidden, but I've been going to him for years now. The good thing about this shop is that he's very flexible in scheduling etc., he also personally makes sure you have a ride to and from work or home etc. So needless to say he does pick up and drop offs. On top of that he works very hard in making sure every little scratch etc. is taken out! I just dropped my car off this morning and it had a pretty nasty dent and scratch the length of my full arm and width of my forearm. He said he's going to get it done for me today though! The turnaround on that is quick and amazing! On a side note though, he does motorcycle repairs, complete auto repairs, tune-ups & maintenance, air condition, brakes & wheel alignment, etc., and has certified technicians working for him.... Again, a little hard to find, but its right off 40th st. and University on the south side of university across from Jack in the Box.... Something fun, he has 3 birds (I'm not sure what kind they are), but one talks and its pretty entertaining, he has a very nice seating area with tv, water, etc., and has a pretty large fish tank to keep you entertained! He's just awesome. I drove an old rv from California to Texas and overheated in 108 heat. Phoenix is brutal but his team was an oasis to a stressed out novice driving a 30 year ford. BEWARE!! This so called mechanic shop kept my car for 4 months & destroyed my interior (plastic parts to get to my rag top) that needed replaced & they tried to glue the pieces back without replacing, destroyed the rubber around my windows & other parts in my car! My interior was trashed & exterior damaged!! When it rained or I went through a car wash the water would gush in my car! My new rag top didn't work! I would call to get an update & i was always being told it was almost done! It would have taken more $ to repair then what it was worth, so I had to buy another vehicle! I called my credit card company & was told that I could get most of my $ back, except the rag top cost because I paid that part separately to order before I took my car. It was past the time-frame that the credit card company would reimburse me. I wouldn't have been reimbursed at all, if I didn't demand to get my car back when I did because they were trying to delay me picking it up!!! This place took no accountability at all!! The only thing this shop did was not dispute my credit card claim (shop had 30-days to dispute) for me to get reimbursed!! read more

This is most definitely the best ran shop in Phoenix. Rob greets you himself, listens to your concerns and genuinely cares about his customers. As a female I feel we often times get taken advantage of because we don't know any better but at R&L they keep it honest. You have no worries and can trust this mechanic. Amazing service and amazing work. My 2002 Honda Civic needed a lot of work done to get it back in pristine condition again. New to Phoenix and was looking for an honest and knowledgeable auto repair mechanic......after 3 weeks with no results even after I paid the owner (Rob) $1300 (wheel bearings) for what the owner stated I needed after "his" diagnosis. I received my vehicle back and I still have the same problems as I did when I brought it in . But not only that, my vehicle now makes a loud screeching noise when I drive it (annoying as f*^k!)
