Ray is the man! We just moved to the area and needed help with our AV setup. To find someone, I did AI deep research and then requested quotes from the top-rated AV companies in the area. Ray was by far the most responsive and easily won on price and value. We set up an appointment, and he arrived promptly, was extremely courteous and knowledgeable. He got everything working perfectly, including mounting the TV, setting up the soundbar, speakers and surround sound, and hiding the cables. He even did precision centering and leveling so everything was perfectly straight, which, if you are like my wife, is important because anything even slightly off center or tilted is distracting. I called to see if I could get my antenna attached to the wires that have been run already. Two stars because of the prompt reply. You can call Ray, but he does not take calls, basically you communicate by text when he is available. First he told me he was booked solid for a couple weeks. I was not in a rush so I pressed him further and basically he didn't want the job because he charges $150 minimum. Unfortunately he didn't even give me the option of paying that. I spent weeks shopping around to have Cat 5 ethernet hooked up in our home. I found that the home had lines run throughout the house but I wanted to add new wall jacks and plugs to the lines in the basement. Ray had previously helped me with some security cameras so I texted him. He was easily thousands (no exaggeration!) below the next lowest price bid. Most were looking at drilling into the exterior of the house and running coax or putting needless extra upcharges to what I was requesting. Ray upgraded 2 existing old cat5 outlets, installed 3 new RJ45 wall jacks and plugged 6 wires in my basement. He even moved my switch to basement and insured every room was running internet smoothly. I'm currently getting over 800mbps so its pretty fast! Ray is just awesome. Great customer service and really goes the extra mile. Highly recommended. read more

The reason for the 3 star review is that I have repeatedly try to contact Ray via his 2 e-mail addresses provided to me since Dec 18, 2022 to no avail (I have the 3 emails sent to him on 3 separate occasions if needed). Now before all that Ray was quick to respond so I'm still hoping to give him the benefit of the doubt. Ray installed some home theater speakers and security cameras outside. So this will be a two part review. Home Theater Speakers. 4.5 stars. I purchased my home with in-wall speakers already so I wanted an upgrade and possibly re-locate 3 of the 5 speakers. Initial speakers recommended by Ray, arrived, he started to cut a hole in my wall to realize the speakers ordered were too large. Fine okay I am understanding, he returns those, smaller ones ordered, all is well, can't relocate those 3 speakers. The reason for the 4.5 stars, although Ray patched up the wall let's just say it looks like a kid did it. Did not even sand it down at least or offer to paint it. Security Cameras outside. 3 stars should be 2.5. Now my biggest complaint. I had 8 security cameras installed out side and a dvr. First I wanted dome cameras, I selected from his catalog albeit I had other ones in mind I found on my own but he sold me to choose what he recommended, ok. Then come time to install on the day of, guess it turns out the quality was not good of the dome cameras but he happened to have ones that were not dome on hand and installed them anyway and to my knowledge I did not agree but I could be wrong. I was not there as had to work but came at lunch to see but my parents came in to town to help oversee things during all the renovations. He explained and again this time I begrudgingly agreed. So cameras are good then I was like why is the dvr the brain of it all and the tv monitor in my garage!!!! I explicitly told him I wanted it in the Master closet which the wall adjoins the garage. He told me there were these 2 devices that he would attach that would send a signal to any tv in the house I choose. At this point I am very over it all. I agree. So the device eventually works after 2-3 failed attempt visits. It works ok for 2 1/2 months until Dec. Mind you the app for the phone is finicky too which also does not work anymore. So now the only way to view my security cameras is to go into the garage!!!!! This is unacceptable. The whole point of the security cameras was to monitor my property while away and home! And to top it off a few weeks ago Local Law enforcement stopped by to ask to view my cameras as there was an altercation in the area and I voluntarily agreed but politely informed the police officer sorry my security cameras are just for show for now... embarrassing. But I do have my operational Ring doorbell if that works. I have been trying to reach Ray to no avail. I want those cameras removed. I have already purchased dome cameras on my own and they work and will have them professionally installed once I settle this matter with Ray. All I ask is Ray to please be courteous and respond to my communications. I figured he would respond to a Yelp review for the sake of his reputation. I am a very understanding person. I do not like to write negative reviews. If you read previous reviews of mine I give credit where credit is due, in Ray's case positive review for the home speakers BUT the security cameras is an epic fail. My apologies for those who opted to read this long review and for any grammatical errors and for the run on sentences as I am very disappointed regarding this matter while writing this. Ray was outstanding!! We reached out to him to help us mount a few large TVs on our walls. He made it look so easy and was very nice and personable. I bought a wall mount where the TV can extend out and rotate. We have a speaker bar for that TV and I bought a mount that just fixated to the wall. Ray had suggesting getting a mount for the speaker bar that allowed it to rotate with the TV so that the sound could be heard whatever direction the TV was turned. I liked his thinking! Ray then proceeded to run to Lowes and grabbed some supplies and actually personalized a speaker bar mount and fixated it just below the TV so that both move as one unit. He is a genius! Five Stars Plus for Ray Armstrong at R&N Technical. I called Ray on a Friday afternoon to set-up an appt. to mount, install and set-up a Smart TV on Tuesday at 1:00 pm. Ray was running a little late on Tuesday but called me to let me know he was on his way. When Ray did arrive, everything was set out ready to go (Smart TV, Wall Mounting Bracket & New Cable Box). Ray is full of energy and enthusiasm, he got right at it and in no time (1 hour or so) the Smart TV was up and running. I did have to call the Cable Co. to activate the Cable Box and with his Technical Expertise we were able to get the Smart TV up and running like a Champ. Ray also connected my Wi-Fi to the Smart TV so now I can Surf the Internet / World Wide Web in my Living Room. While I did in fact provide my email address, I had specifically asked for an assessment at my home in which he had confirmed appointment yesterday (11/17). He then hung up on me before I had a chance to respond. This is not how I would expect a professional busines to operate when addressing negative customer experiences. I went to ray after a really bad experience with another company called hello tech. He was able to mount my 70 inch tv over a big hole in the wall. He also installed another outlet behind my tv. I thought I'd posted a previous review, but can't find it now. Anyway, 5 star service for this guy! We had an 8 camera home security system installed by him in Nov 2016 and it was such a piece of cake! He provided timely, friendly, & professional work. He even made sure that if wires were visible, to match them to the house as closely as possible to avoid them being a sore thumb. Just yesterday, he was able to come by on short notice (less than 24 hours) to activate an internet jack for us in our new home office. Again, he was fast, friendly, and very professional! Reasonable cost and extremely less stressful than dealing with CenturyLink! Lastly, without being hinted, he used a higher speed cable for this job which will allow the fastest internet speeds in our home office, which was PERFECT because my husband will mostly use it to play games. :) He's super excited.
