A nonprofit I work with uses Vivint. We've had very mixed experiences, making it difficult to know…read morehow to rate Vivint. The person who installed our system was great. He was friendly and thorough. My only concern is that he told us we would need two panels for a building of our size and another agent who came to our business said this was not necessary and that it was costing us extra money. I don't know who is correct and am willing to assume it is two different professional opinions about what is best. I really liked both gentlemen who came to assist us, though. The person who installed told me that I could contact him directly if there were issues. Over the first week, a camera started to droop. I contacted him and he came the same day to fix this. I was impressed. My biggest concern is equipment. In the first five months of service, we had to replace three pieces of equipment that were not working. It took over 3-hours of our time to resolve these issues. Customer service is very mixed, but it is concerning that we had to contact them about problems 3 times (two of these were for the equipment that needed to be replaced mentioned above). This does not strike me as the most reliable equipment. One the first issues, I repeatedly have customer service tell me that what was happening was not possible. Two different individuals completely dismissed my concern. Finally, a third representative listened and resolved the issue. The second experience with customer service was much more positive. It was using the chat service and we quickly resolved the issue, even though it required replacing a piece of equipment. The third time we contacted customer service it was mixed again. I began with the chat feature. I had to repeat myself. The person told me that we did not have two panels as I was looking at the two panels. I ended the chat and called customer support. The first person I spoke with was friendly and recognized the issue was out of his level of experience, so he transferred me to someone else. This is great professionalism. We all have our limitations. He recognized it and did the appropriate thing. The third person, too, was wonderful in working through the issue, which resulted in determining two pieces of equipment needed to be replaced. My only concern was that this is right before the holidays and they are not able to get the equipment replaced before the holidays, which is a time we were very concerned about having it working properly, especially as we have had some suspicious behavior around our building. When I voiced concern about this, he initially used the line, "we are not able to." I clarified this with him, and he then acknowledged the that it is possible, but Vivint's policies preclude him being able to resolve the issue before the holidays. He transferred me to billing about getting a credit since we are not able to use the equipment for two weeks during a critical time. At first, the discount they offered was pretty much insulting. I voiced my concern and she was able to get me a better discount, but honestly still not what I feel we deserve given that 1) we have had to replace 3 pieces of equipment due to equipment failure in 5 months, 2) we have spent over 3-hours of our time resolving equipment failures, and 3) we are not able to use the system during a higher risk time for break-ins. I accepted the second offer but am still not impressed with their solution or credit. Overall, the technicians the come to the building I would give a five stars, despite their different opinions about what is best for us. The chat customer service I would give a 2 stars. We've had mixed experience. However, given that twice people completed discounted my experience causes me to give a 2 stars instead of 3. The phone support I would give 3 stars. Again, it was very mixed. The first time two phone support agents denied what was occurring was possible. The third person listened and resolved the issue. The second time, both support agents were very good. Billing I would give a 2 stars. I do not think the reimbursement we received was fair given the amount of time we spent resolving the issue and not being able to resolve the issue in a timely manner.

When we scheduled to have a tech come out to finish up the set up, they never showed and when I called the rep to let him know the tech never showed, he responded and said they came but no one was home even though we were home and we have cameras to tell us when someone is on our property. So basically the tech lied about coming. When we finally got someone scheduled to come out to finish the set up and fix our doorbell, they told us we needed another piece of equipment to fix the doorbell even though it worked fine before they touched everything. The equipment cost another $60 but the tech said call your rep and get him to cover the cost. I spoke to our rep, his name is Ali and he said he would handle it. Well he never did and Vivint charged me for it. When I reached out to customer service they said they just needed to speak to the rep Ali to confirm that he said he would cover the cost of the equipment. I reached out Ali letting him know that he needed to contact customer service to let them know he was going to cover the cost so I could get reimbursed and he has basically ghosted me. So unprofessional. Once he got his sale he has moved on. Do not recommend going with Vivint. We had ADT and they were cheaper and the reps were much more professional. I would cancel at this point but it's too late. Stay away from Vivint!

At the end of the month, I had to delete unneeded videos so the cameras would continue to gather data. The SWAT Team and Bearcat came and were in my driveway. They arrested my next door neighbor. ADT missed everything. They stopped working 2 weeks before the police activity. My 12 Ring Cameras caught everything on my property, for only $22 a month and less maintenance. I called ADT to cancel, and they gave me a hard time. They did not want to cancel my membership. I firmly said "just cancel the service, ok! Just cancel it!" and hung up. They ignored the request and refused to cancel it. Two weeks later I called back and they told me they refused to cancel it because I hung up and refused to hear their sales pitch. They tried to hold me hostage while they went thru their sales script. And tried to ignore the call when I refused to listen. Don't use this company. You can find better deals elsewhere.

At that time, in order to cancel my service, I would have to pay a $250 cancellation fee but I only owed $141 on my equipment - I told the representative I would just continue to pay my monthly fee until the equipment was paid off but that we would not be taking ADT services with us to Colorado. In April 2026, I received a bill for $153.68 which was for 4 months of ADT service. I spoke with rep and told them I was very frustrated because I am being billed for services that I am not using. I told them I had moved to a different state, the equipment was paid off and yet, I am still being billed for services that I am not utilizing. I paid the $153.68 to avoid continued relentless phone calls from ADT. I received NO LESS than 8 calls per day from various phone numbers that were not affiliated with ADT. They were all random numbers from several area codes as well. On that phone call in April 2026, I paid the $153.58 and told them I was not using the services and to close the account. I thought that was the end of it. I recently received stmt dated 5/19/26 indicating I owe $38.42 - it's now $76.84. I called and spoke to 2 representatives and one of them apologized for the misunderstanding on ADT's end. He also stated that I would still be required to pay the $76.84. I responded with a question: why am I being billed for services that I am not receiving? The representative was silent for about 10 seconds and then stated that PER POLICY - if a customer does not explicitly state they want to cancel their policy, they will continue to be billed for services. I responded that I spoke with representatives in August 2025 and then again in April 2026 and that we were not using services and they were no longer needed. I told the rep I am not paying for services I am not receiving and I notified them multiple times I am not using their services due to moving to a different state. I am seeking ADT to eliminate the balance owed as I am paying for services that I am not receiving and they were notified multiple times that I no longer were using their services. I did file a grievance with Better Business Bureau today as well. I just called ADT to verify that they had - in fact - cancelled my service and they told me it had not been done so I ensured it was cancelled AGAIN. And now they are telling me that there is a cancellation fee of $109 and that I still owe the equipment charge of $45 which is the first I am hearing of this. This is my 2nd time as an ADT customer and I will not use them again nor will I recommend them. They are trying to make me pay for services that I have not used since last year. Very unethical.

Project 1 (2013): Ray installed in-wall surround sound speakers, converted my old phone jacks into Ethernet jacks, and set up my home LAN. Everything worked absolutely perfectly for the entire 12 years I lived in that home. Project 2: He did a complete overhaul of my living room surround sound setup. Ray recommended the perfect on-wall speakers for the space, installed them flawlessly, and calibrated the system to perfection. Project 3: Most recently, he installed 6 in-wall Dolby Atmos speakers in my dedicated theater room. The audio environment he created is incredible. Every single installation has been incredibly clean, professional, and well-communicated. Ray is super friendly, highly knowledgeable, courteous, and a true master of his craft. His work is worth every single penny. If you want the job done right the first time by someone you can trust, look no further than R&N Technical!

We set up an appointment, and he arrived promptly, was extremely courteous and knowledgeable. He got everything working perfectly, including mounting the TV, setting up the soundbar, speakers and surround sound, and hiding the cables. He even did precision centering and leveling so everything was perfectly straight, which, if you are like my wife, is important because anything even slightly off center or tilted is distracting. He also went above and beyond to help with another issue totally unrelated to the AV setup. It's hard to find good, competent people you can trust, but for home electronic needs moving forward, Ray is our guy.

So our history goes way back to when we first bought our smart home in December 2017. We were…read morereferred to him by our builder that told us this who you call to setup your smart house (ipad, interface with WiFi, lighting and security interfaces etc.) so to be clear, we write his company a check for our alarm service and he troubleshoots issues with the smart house apps interfacing with our phones or the internet etc. So we called to get him out to setup the alarm and that took longer than it should have. We also ordered some More smart lights and smart speakers for the house and those installs took forever. Then after that was done we realized that the security camera component just shows real time camera feed, it doesn't record or allow you to go back and review any footage. So we called him (several times) and when he finally called back he said we needed to buy a special dvr to record footage instead of just view it. He gave us a quote for $645 for what was called the legrand nvr, said we wouldn't be able to record footage without it. Being concerned about our safety, we decided to purchase this external camera recording system. He sent an employee out to set it up, who did so and just left my husband instructions on how to access it. That was in April 2019 (I just paid my annual security alarm check to peak Audo visual one month before in March). After four months of trying the lengthy instructions and leaving no less than 5 voicemails with peak Audio visual- I decided to reach out to the builder and ask who they now recommend. They had nothing good To say about peak audio visual and that because of that they switched companies for their smart home interface installs. They recommended me to another local electric company in town, who came out right away. They were not able to access the system at all and said that the system was actually extremely antiquated and the company (legrand) no longer makes or supports this product. They gave me a 700$ quote to replace this non-functioning system so I just put it off for a while. Then March 2020 rolls around and it times for my annual alarm check to be paid and I get a statement for it from peak audio cisSo I call and leave a message stating that I won't pay my check until someone comes to fix my equipment- I get a call back right away from the owner Stefan. He comes out next week and basically just nonchalantly says that he can't get the legrand system to work and that he doesn't know why but he's going to have to come back a separate day with - legrand rep. That was April- he never came back or called back. I left him multiple messages asking him to take back his equipment and refund me and make this right. He just straight ghosted me. Not a good business man or person. Don't ever use this company for any of Your service needs.

The tech took the Nuvo board and asked to have the owner schedule the return for the install of the new doorbell, and Nuvo. After 3 months of multiple calls and messages we have received no calls back or info on anyone to fix our system. We still can not use our intercom system due to the way the tech left it from his original appointment in Dec of 2020.
