Original review, 1st one: They ended up finding their key so service wasnt actually provided but the guy who picked up phone was helpful. They were on it. Fast. Experienced. I was helping a couple who locked themself out a 2021 freightliner cascadia. Locksmith wouldnt give me a price on labor but it was $29 standard fee to come out to me for 10 mins away plus whatever they were going to charge me for the labor. This has been the worst experience hiring this locksmith. Do NOT HIRE these people. A technician came out and could not remove the lock of my mail box so he proceeded to beat the box with a sledge hammer and ended up breaking it. Now I have a claim with their insurance and nothing has been done! Insurance company says they can not get a hold of them. Sounds like they are evading!! At first I was expecting to make an appointment but it turns out he was able to help me the same day. I also didn't realize it only took about 20-30 minutes for everything to be set which was great! At first my car wouldn't start and he was nice enough to help jump my battery as well. Once the key has been made he made sure to check all the buttons were working on the key fob as well as giving me the test key that locks/unlocks the door. Update 9/17/20: I downgraded R&R's rating to one star because Rueven has decided to go out of his way to discredit my review and blame me for his inability to get the job done. It's a reflection on his lack of professionalism and experience. Sure, he can do the simple locksmith tasks like duplicating keys, but I would think twice about tasking him with complicated locksmith jobs that require more technical expertise than duping keys. Update: Since Rueven is making the effort to explain his side, I want to add a few more details that he did not get right or missed altogether: 1. The ignition key lock itself was not broken. You didn't "fix" anything. 2. You removed some interior trim pieces to drill out the ignition key lock and never reinstalled them. 3. You did say that you had spent too much time trying to figure this out and you didn't want to waste any more time trying to fix "this" (your ignition key not turning over the car). 4. You tried up-selling me on a new ignition key lock cylinder and key for $300 via Google search after you couldn't get your ignition key to crank the engine. 5. I paid the AAA locksmith more money because the ignition key lock was drilled out. That happened because I agreed to charge me to let you drill out the ignition key lock after you said that drilling out the ignition key lock would have worked (it didn't). 6. The AAA locksmith explained that the ignition key needed to be keyed to the ignition lock AND programmed to the vehicle so the key could 1) turn the ignition lock, and 2) crank the engine. Your key did 1 but not 2. By that logic, you either didn't program the key or did something to (or did not do) prevent your ignition key from working. But, it also proves that the ignition key lock works and didn't need "fixing". 7. Regardless of how long the car sat, and regardless of whether the car could start or not, if your ignition key worked, the engine would have tried to crank. The AAA locksmith made an ignition key that turns the lock and cranks the engine, and your key didn't. I appreciate your time and effort, but facts are facts, and my rating and review reflects my experience based on these facts. -- Had a 2006 Honda Odyssey that was acquired through the lien sale process, and I needed keys made since the former owner basically abandoned it. Rueven arrived promptly (I ran late since I had to go buy a new battery) and started working. Took a little while to remove the glove box lock cylinder (note: glove box does not open to date), but got it out and made door keys. Then, come to find out, the door keys and the ignition keys are different, so he said it would be an extra charge. By now, it was an hour into a hot morning, but so far things were coming along. I agreed and let him work on it... And this is when things started going downhill. Come to find out, he couldn't make the ignition key without removing the ignition key cylinder, and it would cost extra. Sounded excessive, but since he got the door keys, I thought I might as well let him keep working. After another hour, he removed the steering column trim, removed the ignition key cylinder, and made an ignition key. I installed the battery in the hopes that the car would at least crank. Unfortunately, when he put the cylinder back, the car wouldn't crank. He even showed me that the key turns, but the car doesn't crank. He said it would cost another $300+ dollars for new ignition key cylinder. At this point, we had spent about over two hours with two door keys that worked, one ignition key that doesn't quite work, a car that doesn't crank, and a running tab. He said he didn't want to spend any more time there because he felt like he was wasting his time, so I thanked him and let him go on his way. By the way, he never put the steering column trim back... I called AAA, and they dispatched a different locksmith. Come to find out, not only does the ignition key require programming, the ignition key cylinder has a mechanism where, if the ignition cylinder lock was removed, it would require dropping entire steering column assembly to reset the mechanism and allow the the ignition key cylinder to be able to turn over the car. Keys were made, and the car not only cranked over, it started up! Granted, it costed a bit more, but according to the AAA-dispatched locksmith, Rueven didn't have to remove the ignition lock cylinder - if he only knew that he didn't have to. To end, I'm giving R&R two stars, one for arriving promptly and one for at least trying and being honest about things. However, this rating also reflects his lack of subject matter expertise (at least for the 2006 Honda Odyssey), and then not putting the steering column trim back when he decided that any more work was wasting his time. read more

Meant to write this one a few months ago. About ten minutes after my yelp automated quote request he called to ask me about the rekey (I lost my key so he made one from the ignition on my steering column) job for my chevy truck told me could be there in 30 minutes after he finished where he was at. Quoted me $100 which was significantly cheaper then every other locksmith I talked to. He's a bit of a perfectionist so by the time he finished about 45 minutes after he got there he has made me 3 keys and reduced my bill to $60 because he slightly damaged a 2 cent piece of plastic on my steering column.
