I expected this place to be mom and pop style so nothing fancy but good food. It definitely was that. No complaints about the food. What we didn't expect was the very high pricetag that came with our meal! Very small dining room with old school diner tables and booths. We were greeted upon entering, but from the kitchen as it's literally a mom and pop establishment. No front of the house staff. After a few minutes, the owner and cook came for our order. We got 2 delectable samosas as apps. Very crispy and savory. I ordered the chicken vindaloo and my girl the chicken curry. We asked for spicy+. The dishes didn't disappoint! Super flavorful and even though it didn't burn our mouths, we were definitely sweating and had clear sinuses! The garlic nan was very good, but could have used just a tad bit of salt to bring out the flavors. We also got the chicken nuggets and fries for a kids meal and even though the owner forgot about it, he quickly put that in and added extra nuggets. Again, food was great, but the prices don't really leave a desire to come back... Especially with a full buffet at University Market 5 minutes away! Our meal came out to $50!! I did the math and he definitely over charged about $5 at least, and I should have clarified that, but I just tipped 10% instead. Even if he hadn't done incorrect math, $45 for 2 medium sized entrees, 2 nan breads, 1 (complimentary?) rice, 1 kids meal, with 2 waters and a juice is way too much. I'd only go here again if the Indian craving hits super hard on a Sunday when University Market is closed. read more

Ordered the assorted appetizer, chicken tika masala, and the garlic naan. The chicken was a bit dry but with the sauce it taste good. The garlic naan was delicious and even better when dipping it in the tika masala. The veg samosa and pakora was my favorite part. Crispy coating with a soft inside. The sweet dark sauce tasted the best with them. This place is a bit expensive. The customer service was great as well. Good place to try out Indian food. read more

Such wonderful food full of flavor. We ordered the Samosas, Lamb Curry, Chicken Biryani, garlic naan, and Gulab Jaman. The Samosa were not doughy, and were very light. They were packed full of the potato-veggie filling. The tamarind sauce was delicious and provided a nice sweet balance to the slightly spiced filling. The Lamb Curry was so delicious. The side of rice was so fluffy and light. The lamb was very tender and well spiced. It reminded me of the Samoan dish Kāle Māmoe. You didn't even need to chew!! The Chicken Biryani was also very tender. The rice was well cooked and the spices were on point. The garlic naan was delicious. It was nice and light. Gulab Jaman was so good. I was excited to try this place but it was a big disappointment. The food was very waterdown it looked to me that a mexican cooked this. The restaurant was small but food was in the floor was dirty. I was inquiring about the drinks and the waiter brings the drink i had inquired and i end up paying for $9. I figured it would be good but it was gross. My whole bill was $65 for 2 people it was definitely not worth it. read more

It's a new Indian Restaurant in McAllen! My heart is so happy because it did not disappoint! There is a nice variety of dishes, fresh, steamy and flavorful! My husband AND kids loved it! I loved the chicken masala, so rich, creamy, just simply delightful. The lamb was great as well, fall off the bone meat. The owner was very friendly and we had a brief conversation with us about his love for cooking and vast years of experience. He has been feeding and making McAllen happy for years at different places, but I guess 2020 has opened new doors for him! Both literally and figuratively. Come check this place out. My partner enjoys the food here, that's the only reason we patronize this place. The owner/cook however, is always rude and became confrontational when I wasn't conversational enough when waiting for him to process my payment. We order takeout from this guy at least once a week. Amazing Indian food. As an Ex-Pat Englishman who loves Indian food I can honestly say that the R&R Special Biryani and the Garlic Nam were truly mouth wateringly magnificent. Food 1/10 taste like it came from a can. The service was terrible only 1 worker and the owner super rude the whole time. Spilled sauce all over the table. The restrooms are disgusting and cheap everywhere. The food came out to almost 80$ for a family of 4 you would think I was fine dining and this was the total opposite. Beware they charge a 50% service fee meaning the price of your food plus half of what that cost and tax. Menu is outdated told me well the menu is 4 years old ? I have come once but wanted to give them another chance. Same thing, I'm not sure if he's the owner but the guy at the front was so rude and condescending. When we first got there it was empty and it was right after 4 and at the door it said it was closed from 4-5 so we asked if it was open and he rudely said "check the sign" so we started off bad again, the moment we sat down we asked about appetizers and he interrupted us mid question to day "drinks first" and after ordering drinks my friend was asking if something on the menu was similar to a picture he looked up and the guy kept rambling about him not knowing Indian food and kept repeating "I know Indian food" and how the picture doesn't show how a meal really is. Then when we finally ordered my food I also asked for some garlic naan and he told me no and to wait until he asks about bread. My brother and I had ordered tikka masala and I had ordered butter chicken which is basically the same thing but I wanted to try something different since we always get tikka and he kept repeating the same thing before of "I know Indian food" and to not order the same dishes and to get something else and when I kept explaining I wanted to get that he kept pushing. This was all in like a 15 minute span so idk. Food is crazyyyy good tho. Like it'll turn a bad experience into laughing at how good it is but I'd opt for take out. read more

I was very happy to see that the restaurant made good use of fresh local vegetables - for instance one of the buffet dishes included sweetcorn which I don't think it would have in India, but it worked well. The lamb was well cooked but if you're not used to this style of Indian food you might have a problem with it being cooked on the bone. The curry seasonings were clearly made from scratch and I rather liked the flavor but it may be a little too spicy for local tastes and definitely outside the comfort zone for your average Winter Texan. The proprietor is a new arrival to this country but I think as he settles in and adapts to the language and local tastes, the R&R will be a success. read more
