It's sad when a review goes from a five to a one, but this is one of those instances. I've had enough of being jerked around at this place by the service department. Last year I got an inspection, they told me it would cost $X, then I get there and it's suddenly 30% more (and the bike didn't need anything). Then, I call to ask about an oil change. The guy tells me it will be about $60. I get there, and have an $85 bill waiting for me. It's just deceptive and I don't trust them anymore. I would stay away from this place if you need a bigger job done, especially knowing how they operate. Second, I'm super pleased and happy with the woman up front who helps with gear. She is very nice and knows her stuff. She doesn't try to push you, and I'll probably continue to go here, only for gear. I did not buy a bike here, so I don't know what that's like, but I can tell you I've found a new shop for service and the prices are much more reasonable. read more

Do not get your equipment serviced here. The mechanics are incompetent. The service manager should be fired as he condones shoddy work by his employees and defends their inadequacies. I would not feel comfortable riding a motorcycle after they serviced it here unless I had a death wish. read more

R.J.'d did some work on my small bike a while ago. The good: Their work replacing my chain and sprockets was top notch. Everything put back properly. Cost was reasonable. The bad: They ordered the wrong part for my bike, and I had to correct them based on my own research. They forgot to perform some of the work I asked them to do. Based on my limited experience, I'd say their mechanics are good, but the front end and order taking part of the service department could use a skills brush up. Or maybe they're just swamped with work because no one wants to bring their bike to the stealership. Either way, overall I had a very positive experience there. read more

The people seemed very nice.i drove from rhode Island to look at a 2013 triumph thunderbird storm with less than 8k miles the bike had a thick coat of dust but otherwise looked well taken care of so i made a cash offer slightly less than asking price because I was looking at a private sale of a similar bike $1600 cheaper and was told the price was firm even though it was a consignment sale and no call was made to the owner.so I slept on it a few days but decided to pay the extra $1600 for piece of mind and called to made a deposit and I was assured it was going to be "serviced" and inspected. so I made another 3+HR round trip drive to pick it up and Peter was very helpful loading the bike on my trailer but seemed reluctant to let me drive it before the sale was finalised which I suspect was imposed on him by the owner,who seemed like a nice guy but was just a B.s artist (like most salesman)so I heard it run an watched Peter take it for a ride around the parking lot and it seemed to run and shift fine so I bought it and trailered it home...i drove it and it sounded like a lot of valve/lifter noise was coming from the motor which I originally thought was just normal "triumph" noise so I drove it for a couple day and it sounded like crap so I checked the oil and there was barely enough in there and it was grey!!!...so I'm sure they just threw an inspection sticker on it and didn't "service" it at all so now I'm hoping I didn't damage anything in the 200miles I drove it with no F#@$ing oil!!! read more

Ive been going to RJ's every year since 2013 to get my Harley Street Bob inspected. Ive spent hundreds if not thousands in his shop. This year he decides my bike wont past inspection because of the pipes. Mind you, this is a Harley Davidson Bike that I have not added anything to. Also, RJ's has passed my bike every year since 2013. I walked in and I could see that he just didn't feel like it. He is an old grumpy prick and I wont go back. read more

I had a motorcycle I wanted to sell since I hadn't ridden it in almost three years and it was taking up space in my garage. I went to RJ's and I was directed to Roger. I explained I had a bike to sell and he told me they don't buy bikes but only sell on consignment. I was kind of bummed but he gave me the name of another outfit in Concord that does buy them. We talked a few minutes after and I told him about what I was looking to sell. He thought about if for a second and said he would buy it. I told him what I wanted for it and he agreed. I came back later with the title and he handed me a check. Done deal! He sent over two guys the next day to pick it up. They both had a lot of good things to say about Roger. They both are long time employees who couldn't say enough about their boss. I feel good about doing business with somebody who cares about his employees. The two guys he sent over were very good as well. Both were very polite, friendly and knew their jobs. (Shout out to Ken and Matt!) I highly recommend RJ's to anybody who needs a motorcycle, accessories or service! read more

I decided to try RJ's and went there for tires and service. In doing so I learned the lesson to NEVER go there again. The staff can't be bothered attending to business. The owner was particularly rude from the very moment he started to speak to me. These folks are certainly not motorcycle people and definitely NOT business people. They are rude, don't do scheduled work on time, and are very very difficult to deal with. They are NOT even open during their advertised hours and cannot be trusted to even return a phone call. I spent over $400 dollarson my first visit to RJ's but had to put up with a lot of BS and attitude. The owner is the worst offender. He doesn't realize that customers can and will go elsewhere. From now on I will do just that. There is nothing special here. The prices, service and atmosphere are all poor. I own 4 motorcycles which means I spend a fair amount every year to keep those bikes safely on the road. It is unfortunate RJ's is wired the way they are as they just lost what would have been a repeat customer( money ). But they obviously don't get that as they are not business people. Clearly other things are more important to them. Try them at your own peril but my advice would be to support some other local business/shop. read more

brought in my Harley engine for a crank bearing and other small work. long story short, 4 months later, rj was at a fund raiser,he was on vacation, he was on a ride, and no one knew the where abouts of my engine) I get it back.... ok, can I have my pistons back too. ? oh, damn, they got tossed with the trash.. sooo, I missed a year of riding , 1.5 weeks later , some (..) pistons) then all the wrong gaskets to put my engine together. I will NEVER be back, is he on coke or just dumb,,, this guy really tested me.. should have gone to the dealer.. I would have been treated better and the job done faster. read more

Worst bike shop ever! I'll never go back here again. Was looking for something specific, when the owner asked what I was looking for he said no problem I'll order it for you. I was hesitant but said why not, so I gave him my $$ and two weeks(reasonable time) later I called for a status. Women said it would take another week. Called back another week and some guy said its on back order it will be another week. So I go to the store the following weekend and the kid behind the counter said it was never ordered, i asked for my $$ back and says some BS about no ca$h refunds but I have never received anything and the owner wouldn't budge. Waited a few more days and went in when the store was kinda busy and he didn't have the balls to be a prick in front of potential customers(suckers) so he finally gave my $$ back. Three days before I got a package from amazon for what I ordered and he had stated was not available. Guess online shopping is the only option with dishonest bike shops like this. read more

Stay away. I had my street bike serviced here. When I went to pick it up, it would not start. They had left it outside in the rain between the time it was ready and I got it home. They charged a lot of cash to "clean" the carburetors, but the bike still did not run well. I took it to another shop and they rebuilt all the carbs and it ran great afterwords. I would recommend Sohegan Valley Motorsports in Milford or Naults in Manchester. I have had service done at both places and I had an excellent experience compared to RJs. read more

The staff was friendly, but I would be very hesitant bringing in something for repair. This is what happened to me - I was working on my moped that had been sitting in storage for 3 years. My buddy who is mechanic was helping me with getting it road worthy. The rear tire was flat and needed a new tube. I took the moped apart and brought in the tire. They were very quick, charged me $10 for the new tube and another small amount for labor, and got the tire later on that day. The initial experience was fantastic. Sorry about the length but I want to retell my story - After I installed the tire and buttoned up the moped, I noticed a clacking sound while going down the road (think back in the day when kids use to put cards in their bike spokes). The stem of the tire was to long and was hitting the inside wall. Not only was it making this noise but it caused the tire to go flat. I called RJ's and spoke to one of the mechanics, I was told this was a safety issue. I drove the moped there and the owner came out to take a look. This was the jist of the conversation we had: Owner "so we put the tube on and the installed the rear tire?" Me - "No, you just put on the tube". Then with an attitude he replied "OH, YOU installed the tire huh" Keep in mind that the tube was one THEY recommended and it had less then 5 miles on it, Not to mention the moped I have, the rear tire can only go on one way. The owner then proceeded to tell me that it would cost me $30 to get the tire off and to invert it so them stem would not scrape. I protested and he then told me that I could go home and take the tire off and he would then only charge me. Seeing as I was nervous enough driving the moped there and did not want to spend the time to take the tire off I told them to go ahead with the service. I waited around and 10 minutes later the owner came out and told me that it would not matter which way the tube was placed in the tire, it would either scrape on the inside or it would scrape on the exhaust. I needed a new tube. I said ok, thinking he would not have the gall to charge me for another tube. Waited for another 30 minutes. The owner came out spoke to the guy at the counter, "Moped is done, $30 for service and $10 for a new tube". Didn't even make eye contact with me, just walked out to the back. I told the mechanic the story of what happened, I don't want to get him in trouble in case someone from the store reads this, but he felt really bad about how I was treated and he did something extra for me without being charged. Needless to say, this was their error, I could have got in an accident. It is really f*cked up that they ended charging me. Gave them +1 star for the initial experience and mechanic who helped me out. read more

Horrible. Brought my bike in to get a rear tire. They charged me 220 for a tire that cost 120 on every on line dealer shipped. They said "but we install the tire for that price". Really, 100$ to mount a tire! Then they tried to tell me, an engineer, that my chain and sprocket set was worn out. Hmmm odd since I replaced them 800 miles ago and they look pristine. Visited them today and made an offer to the owner of Rjs, for a consigned ATV. The price was $5499, and I offered $5000. The rude SOB muttered something about having just lowered the price, then disappeared before I could turn around to discuss making a deal. You would think by the way he acted that I offered $1000 or some other lowball price - but I didn't. I then walked into the main showroom and he was nowhere to be found.
