I live close by and Asian One has quickly become my go-to market for Asian groceries. It may be a small store, but it's packed with so many great items--fresh produce, snacks, sauces, noodles, and all the essentials I need for cooking at home. The owner is a young, friendly guy who always greets customers with a smile and makes sure you can find exactly what you're looking for. He's super helpful and welcoming, which makes shopping here such a pleasant experience. I have gone to Asian One Grocery a few times mostly to get Rice Noodle and Ube ice cream. This store has been here for years and close to my parents house and a Starbucks across the street. Each time I've gone inside there has always been fresh produce and abundance of goods. It is always clean inside and usually organized with sometimes boxes are in the way due to stocking. The owners or staff is very friendly and nice. I imagine this store is getting a lot of business due to the COVID crisis we are in as the last time I came in there was quite a few people inside stocking up on goods. They have a variety of ice creams which I like as the typical store in the Central Valley doesn't sell Ube, Taro, Red Bean, Green Tea or other ice creams. They sell bags of rice, seasonings, meats and other yummy snacks! I highly recommend this store if you want something different from commercial stores. read more

We don't have too many Asian stores that's located west of Fresno. Wished there were more! We have a pretty big Asian community here. This store is located in a small plaza. This grocery store isn't big, it's a tiny store but what it does have inside is quite a good selection of Asian food. It carries sauces, meat, fish, noodles, produces, and some kitchenware. Downside because it's so small it's a little cram and things are placed awkwardly in places that you might not be able to go through in the aisle because it blocks you. - good place to just grab some quick grocery if you're in the area. read more

Asian one has been my go to Asian market for years. When i need a big grocery hall I go to RN market but that is quite a drive. Asian one is within a 5 minute drive from home. They carry most of my cooking essentials and I love their ready to go hot meals. Most recently I have become aware of the new ownership and I have a lot of great thoughts about it and only one concern. The staff is friendly and very helpful with any and all of your questions. The place is looking cleaner and more up to par with food health regulations. I love the new selection of items that they have brought to the store that were not available under previous owners. My one complaint is the changes in the hot food. I know many many people come for the hot food, there is always a line of buyers. including myself. I would come 1-2 times a week on average for some quick favorites: spring rolls, sticky rice, rice rolls, egg rolls. However I noticed 2 big changes, the prices going up and the quality of the food going down. I understand the price change, they are expanding and prices flared during the pandemic. However most recently I have not been enjoying the food. The hot sauce isn't hot anymore, more on the sweet side. They changed the recipe for the peanut sauce and the fish sauce. They taste like bottled sauces, when I really enjoyed the freshly prepared ones they use to carry. The shrimp in the spring rolls do not taste fresh and they no longer put whole shrimp in the spring roll. they take 1 shrimp and slice them up to make it seem like your getting whole shrimp. I am still giving this store a good review because I do think they carry a lot of essentials for Asian cuisine, and I do enjoy the employees welcoming and helpful manner. As for the hot take out food, I have been disappointed the last few times we've picked some up. Thankful there is an Asian store on this side of town! A quick place to grab your needs that you can't find at a local grocery store, ie: lemongrass, kaffir leaves, and oriental red curry! The new owner is trying to expand his business...hoping a new structure/update will take place with the store. The fresh herbs are beautiful, but spread out on a large table. There are no signs to what type of herbs are in front of you, and with the current state, we have to wear masks (I go off the smell of the herb...since they're all green and leafy). I was trying to find a spice called PhetPhet and an internet search showed that Asian One Grocery had it in stock. One day after work I drove there and went in and spoke to a gentleman who turned out to be the owner. He explained that the person who does his web page hadn't updated it in a while and unfortunately he no longer sold PhetPhet. However he still gad the number of the person who used to stock his store with PhetPhet and he tried calling her for me. He didn't get an answer. He was leaving the country to visit relatives overseas but he took my number and said he would try to reach her when he got back in 2 weeks. Well, long story shirt, about three weeks later he called me and said he had given his PhetPhet supplier my number and then she contacted me and now I have lots of PhetPhet. It's anAsia spice that really livens up a dill pickle. So I give the gentleman an A+ for service plus he was really nice. read more

The store is always clean and organized with new products to explore every time I go in. There's hot food as well. The tapioca balls are my favorite! The owners are great as well. People don't think about the rent of the location is in for this plaza. Yes it's really cramped, but do they get profits that will cover a good spacious place? NO! Which btw It is very expensive in any location generally speaking but I know the plaza well and it's not cheap space to pay monthly. I've been a regular customer but will never come back to this store after what i experienced. Recently they have a policy of minimum spending of $10 to use debit or credit, however they need to be equal for everyone. I watched the female owner let a hindu guy in front of me use his credit card on a $8 total, however when it was my turn, she told me I cant use my debit or credit cuz its under $10. Of course I took my money somewhere else. Its ridiculous that there's a minimum for using a debit card. I understand a credit card but debit is basically same as cash. There aren't too many south east asian stores located on the north western corridor of Fresno (most of them are located east on central), therefore this place serves its demographic well, especially those in need of essential south east asian ingredients yet fret the 10-15 minutes commute. This store carries more than one can think of. It sells: really fresh asian vegetables (okras, egg plants, methi, chinese cabbages, asian greens, tomatoes, cilantro, lime, ginger, garlic and so much more), sauces and essential ingredients such as shrimp paste, frozen sliced, marinated meats, frozen goods (such as pandan leaves, noodles, spring rolls skin), dried goods (rice, thai tea mix and flour) and so much more. It even serves as a traditional asian fashion headquarters, selling partly traditional Laotian attires. And any asian grocery wouldn't be complete without the kitchen essentials such as plates, bowls, saucers and etc. Its also interesting to see that some flare of asian cafe delicacies are sold here by the package, which can be purchased fresh daily. An average price of $3-$7 Normally convenience store's charges at a premium price. I was however surprised to learn that this small grocery store, actually charges averagely like other stores in Fresno. My personal experience of buying ingredients here has been positive and without complaints, especially its meats and vegetables- absolutely fresh) Furthermore this store accepts payments of cash, credit or debit which makes it convenient. It even serves as a place that one can buy water from for drinking. I do however grouse that this store is utterly small, and absurdly unorganized to a point ( there isn't a clear flow, and path seems very small). Didn't feel safe at all being a high risk person #2 Prices are Higher, which I expected #3 Aisles too small even the small carts can't get past the center post in one of the aisles. #4 Was only able to find 2 of the 12 things on my list. Poorly stocked. They do have lots of noodles but I didn't find any "fresh" wheat noodles, only rice. They have dried wheat noodles. I've lived on this side of town(Ashlan/99) for 10+ years and this is my go to shop for jasmine rice, fresh veggies, frozen meats, spices, sauces, fresh cooked to go meals, purified water and hard to find asian items. It is under new ownership but if you've been there recently there has been many upgrades, new freezers, new isles and overall aesthetic of the store has been great. Overcharged me!!! Bought 2 Springroll! The sign LITERALLY says $6 springroll, but that Little boy (he was prob in his late 20s but his attitude was just not acting like his age) charged me $18! Hmong Asian grocery store that has a good variety of everything, including fresh green veggies. Came here to grab some hot food to go. The prepackaged cooked warm food was fresh and delicious. The portion was a good amount, and the spring rolls were very fresh. Yelp states it's closed down, but it's very much still open for business. Good place if your use to the South east side Asian stores, and need to grab groceries on the west side of town. read more
