I LOVE this place! Ever dreamt of a family summer camp like Kellerman's or Steiner's? If you've ever seen Dirty Dancing or the Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, you know what I'm talking about... A family summer camp experience with canoes and a lake, horses and giant Sequoias. Somewhere to return to year after year and immediately unwind. A place to make memories year after year... Where the kids run free, fish, play bingo, dance, swim, play tennis, play basketball, mountain bike, hunt, horseback ride, do crafts, explore nature, build forts, follow creeks, play without electronics, and feel at home. Where impromptu concerts happen in the dance hall and the general store always has you covered. R-Ranch is it! It's idyllic, safe, off-grid, and welcoming. Way cheaper than buying your own cabin ($1600/yr) and a cabin is always available for you, this is the California version of the Catskills.... If this appeals to you, call them up and come visit as prospective owners. This place is kid heaven!

Another fun and relaxing trip to the Ranch with my family. They' are about to open the Restraunt and Saloon across from the R-Ranch store after being closed for years. Feels like 1990 again. After 32 years of visiting the Ranch my family finally rode the horses. My daughter Nephew and Sister had a wonderful trail ride. My daughter loved riding Misty the spotted white horse. Shout out to Steve and his crew at the stables for taking care of owners and their guests as well as the beautiful R-Ranch horses. If you ride make sure you are at the stables 30 minutes prior to the start of your trail ride. Steve don't play when it comes to starting the trail ride on time. If you're late you ain't ridin.

Been here twice, once as a guest and second time as an owner. It's a perfect place for my family to enjoy time away from the city. I love the view, and all the things available to do at the ranch. We went horseback riding, hiking, played in the teen room with my kids. The WiFi in the adult room was nice to do a quick check on texts, and emails. But we absolutely love having no social media updates, or phones going off every so often. Can't wait for our next trip!

We've been R Ranch owners for over 16 years. It is the best investment for our family that we ever made. Great family environment, safe, secure, peaceful, serene, with LOTS TO DO. There are many hikes and excursions close to the ranch. We have had family reunions there with 25 people coming to spend the week. GREAT MEMORIES are made. The Ranch employees are helpful and protective of the facility. Your kids can ride bikes, hike and swim in the pool throughout the day. Its a great vacation at a very reasonable price. AND if you like to fish the Kern River is only 15 minutes away. There's excellent Catch and Release Fishing as well as bait and lure trout fishing. The General Store has most everything that you'd need should you forget any items when packing for your time there. We generally make it up 2 to 4 times per year for long weekends. The winters are awesome too as you can reserve a cabin when storms are coming in and enjoy the serenity of falling snow and everything that goes with playing in the snow with your kids and family and friends. For long weekends there is nothing like it. Cell phones do not work here and internet access is limited and slow and ONLY at the Adult Center. So don't expect to do much of your business from R Ranch. But then again that is why its so incredible. When you arrive at R Ranch you get to relax, unwind and enjoy God's creation with not interruptions. I highly recommend R Ranch to anyone considering purchasing a share. You won't regret it.

TLDR; Great time, nice campsites, friendly staff, clean bathroom and showers Check in is at 3pm but we got caught up in some traffic on the way there and couldn't arrive until 6:45. Got an email and text message with a picture of where our envelope with our information would be that contained the gate code, campsite, and a map of the campground. Very nice. We pulled in and as I was grabbing the envelope a man named Scot who was working there greeted me and asked if I needed any help. Told him that it's our first time here and he offered to show us to our campsite and lead us in his golf cart. When we pulled into the campsite it was clean and the ground was even raked! Which was perfect for us to immediately start setting up our tent. Even the fire pit was raked and clean, there was shade galore which my wife with sensitive skin greatly appreciated. Full cell service with T-Mobile Noticed that the bench at our site could use some TLC, looked like someone put too hot of a pot on it and burned a pretty decent divot into it and it was leaning. Still useable and not a deal breaker for us. There were 2 water spouts to fill up the bucket we used to put out our fire and clean our dishes very close by our site with good pressure. The river was a stones throw away from our campsite which provided great white noise to fall asleep to. One of the rules is that Quiet time is at 10pm. I've been camping elsewhere with the same rule but never have I've seen it enforced unless you call and complain. Staff would drive by around 9:30 on the golf cart, I assume to see who is still playing music, and then again at 10. Which was great. They didn't announce the rule or even say anything as they drove by, but just making their presence known was very professional and reassuring. Since we didn't get to check in properly we had to go back up to the main office/ general store to submit a registration card, that was in the envelope I picked up, to finish checking in. The woman checking us in was nice, friendly, quick, and efficient. She suggested we stop by McNally's further up about 40min drive if we were looking for something to do or eat. 11/10 suggestion. It was all n all a great time. We will be back. Worth the money.

I personally felt that they were treating my group and I like we were stupid or something. We had a big wasp problem at our campsite and though they did help us by putting up a trap, they acted like it was completely up to us to fix their problem. That only happened one night but the wasps did resurface the next morning so we left as soon as possible. We also had a big skunk problem at our site. We couldn't relax at the campfire because the skunks would come up to us every couple of minutes and we would have to shoo them away. They would also rummage through our stuff which was covered and put away to our best extent. They thankfully didn't mess with the tent but they did spray a bit when we were trying to sleep. This was both nights. If you're someone who is willing to look past that and persevere definitely try this place it is so worth it. I would maybe come back, as long as I wouldn't have to deal with the wasps again lol. I will say the restrooms and showers were very clean so that does encourage me to not be shy on coming back.

Went to plug in my Nema 1450 Shore power cord and the pedal outlet was melted. Let the check in lady girl know and quickly two maintenance guys came out for a look see. I told them exactly what needed to be replaced and the part name. The younger one said he will call an electrician to come take a look. I said, tell him to bring a Nema 1450 outlet and replace it, as it's nothing to look at but just replace it already. Now mind you we are already set up and can't plug in safely. They "called the owner" and said the electrician can come tomorrow and that's just not gonna work for me. I asked where is the closest hardware store and again the younger one said "it's probably closed" he's not helpful and he's a minimum effort kinda guy. I called ace hardware and they are open for another 1-2 hrs. Had the counter make sure the part is in and had it ready for pick up. The older one tried to put it in, not having any experience with this type of electrical work. I ended doing it for him as I'm a 30+ year electrician. I may have saved his life - . The office offered a $20 credit. and got them to do $50...... The End
