We absolutely loved our visit here! We had some time to kill between wine tasting and early dinner. So why not go and get more wine lol. We shared a cheese/chartcuterie plate and both had the D'OR sparkling rose. It was slightly oaky, full bodied, dry and spectacular! The lady helping us out definitely knew her stuff and was so friendly and pleasant.

Cute wine tasting room They said they made this place like someones living room. like other tasting rooms you can enjoy some snacks with wine. I had the mixed flight, and among them I love their 'Big fire' series which is their everyday drinking wine and goes well with everything really. They were so friendly, and I had a great time.

I figure when in McMinnville, why not explore more? Amanda, my bartender, was super friendly and really knowledgeable about all of their wines. She was losing her voice from the busy day, but she still took the time to talk with me and explain all of the wines. My favorite was the Love Pinot Noir. It smelled and tasted like Christmas. I wanted to dive into the glass and find that Yule Log video they always play. It was super delicious. I loved the vibe of the place and look forward to coming back!

The land of Pinot noir you say? Ummm, I'm in! This little wine spot is the home to R Stuart wine . I attended a baby shower here & it was definitely my kind of shower! The wine was excellent ! The snacks of roasted nuts truly hit the spot & the Pinot noirs were amazing! The perfect blend of light woodsy goodness! I bought a few bottles & alas, they did not make it home with me... They were so great I was compelled to share the wealth!

The first of our many wine tastings. Very flexible with allowing this white wine drinker to taste only whites. Learned about locals and found another person who knew about Kalamazoo, my home town.

There's also a little wine bar (about 6 seats) that Jack sits behind pouring drinks. He has a chalkboard with the day's menu...which was 5 red choices and 5 white choices. He literally gave us a 30 minute rundown of every single glass with who the wine makers where, where they vacationed, how they picked their childrens' names...well, okay, maybe not that much detail, but nearly! The wines aren't cheap (I think it was $12 - $28 for one glass!)...but boy were they delicious. He said they also do a dinner there on the weekends, and get live jazz too..but apparently you're not allowed to talk during jazz or they take your picture and put it up as a bad person. Ha! I love this guy! Will definitely come back on our next wine tasting trip!

Genesis 9:20 Noah, a man of the soil, proceeded to plant a vineyard. 21 When he drank some of its wine, he became drunk and lay uncovered inside his tent. 600-year-old naked body...we don't want to see that! I asked him for boutique vineyard recommendations specifically to avoid seeing labels I could buy in the grocery or liquor store. He provided a list of 3 vineyards, aside from the one I was dead-set on visiting (Penner-Ash), suggesting 4 stops was more than enough. He was spot on. I was ready to tap out by the fourth and final stop. He suggested a 9:30 AM pick up from downtown Portland, accounting for about an hour drive to get to the first vineyard. He was right on time and picked up in a clean white Mercedez van. The first stop was Argyle, followed by De Ponte Cellars, followed by Brooks Winery for lunch, ending at Penner-Ash. Even though Argyle appeared to be a little commercial given its location on a fairly busy street rather than off the beaten path, the space and their sparkling wine provided for a good intro for the rest of the day. The other two vineyards he picked were exactly what I wanted. We were the only ones in De Ponte, except for the cat. And Brooks had a great food and wine menu for lunch, overlooking beautiful views. As for pricing, I was first taken aback by the $75/hour price point, but I got over it considering: - Allen's competition was charging about the same - Allen is your private driver for the day and waits for you in between stops - Uber is not practical or all that cheaper for something like this. The vineyards are too spread out, some of which are in no service areas, and I can guarantee an Uber driver wouldn't bring Allen's expertise to the table. Overall, I was very satisfied with this service and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Wilammette Valley. The more people the merrier, however. The $75/cost is per hour, not per person.
