I started out 2 months ago as an online lifestyle client, having no formal training before, and since the process began, I have decided to not only compete, but to sign on for continued training post competition, and compete in the spring. My first competition is 24 weeks away. I have lost 18 lbs in 2 months, weight I didn't know I was holding, I have not cut out all of the carbs in my diet(in fact I'm eating whole nutrient dense foods now than before). My training plan and cardio plan is supported by Tina herself as well as an in person coach in San Antonio weekly to tweak my movements. For a long time I have struggled with body dysmorphia (as lots of young women do) and have bounced between physically demanding sports. For this reason, I do not count calories or weigh myself daily, Tina has programmed my diet in a way that gives her full control. I eat what she tells me, and work at the intensity level she asks of me. I cannot explain the amount of freedom and confidence that comes with hiring someone who knows your goals and gets you there safely. It's like boxing up my self criticism and giving it to someone else to handle. However, this program is tough(one of the most mentally and physically demanding things I have ever done), and it requires honesty and transparency on all counts. Tina is THERE FOR YOU, even through deviations. If you are serious about transforming your body and your perspective- I recommend her for it all. Through her move to California she has not ceased communication or attentiveness. She is passionate, serious about her work, critical of movements and form, knowledge of all things relevant to competing, and can help you hit new goals.

Two days after payment cleared, she announced she was leaving San Antonio for California within a month. That month turned into a few weeks. Initially she tried to persuade me and my workout partner to work with her online. After requesting refund instead, I was eventually shorted one session. Tina has ignored my communication to review her schedule and my swipe-in days to reconcile the days she left early and the day she overslept and did not show. In other words, she's just ignoring me. I feel she was deceptive from the beginning. She knew she was leaving when she offered us the dual workout plan and used our payments to fund her relocation. My recommendation is to use someone with integrity.

From beginner friendly to years of experience, this gym welcomes you. It has a small, never crowded feel, with having everything you need. Including a sauna and yoga classes! I do live a little further from the location than I like, but the atmosphere will always keep me here. Everyone is friendly, motivating, and helpful. I went from dreading the gym hiding in a corner to seeking training and being apart of the MFL community. Which is the best feature of this gym! 10/10

The gym is new so the facilities are nice. The coaches (shoutout to Leilani and Greg) were very informative and made sure I was taken care of during my first class. Despite having a large class, the people in the class and the coach were able to make sure my form was good and challenged me to push past my normal limits. For a veteran dealing with chronic stomach issues, this isn't just an inconvenience--it's a health hazard. I've been forced to halt my workout mid-set and trek a block away to HEB just to find a toilet because the only two remaining stalls are combined with the showers. If someone is rinsing off, you're essentially locked out of a basic human necessity. Taking 20 minutes out of a paid membership time to use a grocery store bathroom is a joke. I've brought these concerns to the owners, but they clearly don't care about their members or accessibility. To top it off, you have to deal with the personal trainer Adam. He struts around like he owns the place, but he has the personality of a brick wall and couldn't manage a toll booth, let alone a fitness center. Save your money and your dignity--literally anywhere else would be an upgrade.

I started from negative 100 due to years of bad eating and sedentary lifestyle. I went from not being able to hold a plank for more than a few seconds to planking for over a minute after our first six sessions. Marcos is both creative and adaptable, essential traits for an at-home trainer. Initially, I struggled really hard to do even the most basic exercises -- either I couldn't do it at all, I could only do a few reps, or I would compensate with bad form. Marcos was able to immediately tweak the exercise to match my fitness level. Furthermore, the only space I had available at the time was a small 8ft x 8ft storage room in my garage. I was very impressed at Marcos' ability to find ways for me to train effectively in such a confined space.

I loved going to the classes so much, I decided to continue going and I still go as of March 2017. Chad is my favorite trainer I have ever worked with. He adjusts the workouts to fit your personalized needs/goals which is something I was looking for in the beginning. I tried Crossfit, but I really couldn't lift what they were telling me to. When I worked with chad he started me on things I could actually do and we slowly worked our way up - this is all while the group is working at the same time on the same thing; it's all based on your personal max-outs. Chad is also the type of trainer who gives you your space. He isn't on top of you of why you're not at a class but at the same time, knows when you're just being lazy! He is also very understanding and flexible. The 5:30 am class is a little too early for me, but the 6:30 am class is too late so he suggested I come at 6 am and I work between the classes. It's great and really fits my needs! If you're looking to get started in fitness or looking for someone to help you continue your journey you have found the right place!
