My wife and I joined this place when they had a grand opening special of $80/month for unlimited yoga. The space is very nice, albeit very small. It does have an intimate appeal. The problem is, it's too small. After being open only a month and a half, the classes are already so packed you can't stretch out the way you're supposed to without getting into someone else's space. It kind of makes me wonder if they planned to be successful, when you're at or beyond capacity in less than two months. The theme continues with the restroom situation. They have mens and womens locker rooms which are very nice, but there are just two unisex individual bathrooms accessible from the hallway. The times I have tried to use the restroom before or after class, other members were constantly trying to open the door or knocking. Most of my gripes stem from size/capacity issues. Unfortunately, that's a big deal when it comes to personal space and trying to get in your zone. The instructors that I have practiced with have been mostly good. Classes are an hour long, some instructors will try to get in as many poses as they can in an hour, while others focus on the quality of a pose. I guess that's a matter of personal preference, I don't like to feel rushed. Everything above and beyond showing up for the class(minus props) is extra. Yoga mat and towel "rental" are extra. Staff is sometimes friendly, sometimes militant. They want you to do things their way, but they do it with a smile, kinda like Disneyland. I've got 4 1/2 months left on my contract, we'll see if things even out or I go crazy. read more

I like the classes here, however, the waitlist policy is messy. The staff seems confused about who is next in line (online waitlist vs walkins) and did not write down names. Additionally, there is no way to pay for a single class online, rather a list of membership options. There must be a more simple way to go about this. read more

Amazing studio!! It's clear that owners Bobby & Jenny have put so much heart into creating this new studio space in Long Beach. I've been to their first location in Costa Mesa and their second in Newport Beach, and it's really awesome to see how their vision continues to grow. Studio design is stellar, providing locker rooms, bathrooms, and even shower areas. They provide props for class, and if you forget to bring a yoga mat or a towel, they also offer mats and towels to rent or purchase. Filtered water fountains for refilling bottles are in the hallway, and they have two incredible yoga rooms -- large rooms which both have unique cave lighting and shipping container walls to fit in with the style of the new center. Lots of heated and non-heated class options. Something that I've always loved about Ra is that they don't use forced air to heat the yoga rooms (which can blow in dust and allergens) but instead they use radiant heat -- which is a much cleaner and efficient way to heat up the rooms. All in all, I'd say if you're thinking about giving yoga a shot, definitely try out Ra Yoga. They have so many different class times and styles that you're sure to find what you're looking for :) read more

I started coming to this studio about two months ago. I love the wide variety of classes and skill levels they offer. One of my favorite classes is yogalates with Karen. There is 45 min class I frequent in the afternoon which is perfect during lunch break. I usually see the instructor waiting outside before class, so it is easy to ask questions. The facilities are very new and clean, they are able to provide all the props you could need in class as well as toiletries in the locker room. read more

My favorite studio. All the Ra Yoga studio are the best studios I've ever taken from. The most inviting, kind and patient staff. Every instructor genuinely loves what they do, you can feel it. I am especially biased to Karen S., her body awareness, knowledge and the ease in which she shares how to best care for our physical body, and mental health while practicing yoga is extraordinary. This place had great reviews so I was always interested to taking a class. I finally booked a yogalates class with fabian and had high expectations. Overall the class is easy but it becomes more difficult as the room becomes hotter. One thing that isn't mentioned in other reviews is this class has A LOT of people in such a small space. You literally just have your yoga mat as your area. People are spaced way to close together. On some of the moves the girls feet was literally right in front of my space. and on some of the moves there's people bumping into each other. I get they want to fill up the class so they can make the most money but it was just ridiculous. read more

The clases are really good and I like the variety of different classes;however, I cant stand the funky smell the place has!! I think is because is mostly carpet and it gets full of sweet when people exit the class. It wouldn't hurt a refreshener. Also, the place gets really packed. read more

Finally I don't have to drive 30 min to the other side of town for hot yoga!! Great friendly staff, very clean beautiful environment. Awesome class selection!! And it's not so hot that you want to die like Bikram, nor is it completely overcrowded and stinky like Purple Yoga. And if you don't want heat, there's that option as well. read more

love Ra Yoga. There are many classes at various times that can be taken to give you all of what you would need. I really like that the rooms have container like walls and decor, the staff is friendly, and the instructors are plentiful. I think it offers a variety of personalities for whatever mood you are in not to mention there is someone for everyone. not everyone teaches in the same style or manner and that can be interesting if taking on a whim. I do wish there were more unheated offerings at a variety of platforms but there are other studios for that in addition to this being a hot yoga studio so you know what you are getting. highly recommend read more

I usually have a good experience at Ra. One of my favorite classes is the YinRAstore class. It is a nice relaxing class where props are used to attain a deep stretch. Dynamic stretching, if any, is kept to a minimum. As a tip, make sure to get there on time. I was not allowed in because I was 7 minutes late and they have a 5 minute window past the start time where you can still be allowed in. This was upsetting because I had prepaid with ClassPass and lost money, which the staff seemed to not be concerned with. I was a bit disappointed with the staff when this happened. Although the woman at the desk spoke kindly, she didn't offer me any alternatives and also didn't take into consideration that I was late due to the lack of parking in the area. Not sure if I'll be back anytime soon after this experience. read more

Although there's a yoga studio only a few miles from my home, I'm willing to drive a little further just to be at RA Yoga, I love that their facility is clean and new, the staff are always the friendliest. There are lockers and showers, if you do decide to use a locker, bring your own lock. The location is convenient and there is always parking, behind RA yoga, the back side of The Hanger. Bring a yoga towel and a mat, if needed a mat is available to rent as well. My absolute favorite class by far that I highly recommend is RA Strength. read more

I love this place! I used to go to Purple Yoga and thought that was a great studio until I tried Ra. I've tried several instructors, but my favorite are Mandy Marie (strength 2), Maria Palugod (strength 1) and Nate Awdykowyz (vinyasa 2)- all of their classes are really challenging and not predictable. read more

This yoga studio has a great variety of classes and times throughout the day. I love that I can choose hot ra one day, ra strength with weights, or a few others, depending on my mood. I am so grateful to be able to practice yoga at Ra and have it be so close to home for me. I've gone to plenty of studios and none have been as welcoming and diverse as here. I started with an unlimited free week, then had a 10 class Groupon, and here I am with my unlimited membership. I really enjoy that there's always some type of class -- no matter what time of day -- that vibes with how I want to practice on any given day. I've done hot ra, Vinyasa, Intro to Level 2 Vinyasa, Ra Strength, and my personal favorite - Yogalates! I love that there's so many instructors who have their own style, which makes Ra such a unique studio for me. From Jill, to Ursula, to Karen, and Maria - all of these ladies have helped me grow within my practice and I always look forward to my classes. I've only had one Instructor here which I found condescending so I avoid her at all costs - and thankfully she doesn't teach too many of the classes I rotate between anyway. The facility is clean, with lots of equipment and friendly staff. The instructors usually stand and greet you as you come in/leave, which is a nice touch. Note that classes can get extremely packed. So far so good! This studio is clean, beautiful, and very modern. Yes it's brand new so that's to be expected, but they did a great job with their setup. Staff was friendly and welcoming. My instructor was professional, yet fun...she even stayed after class to help a couple of us with some questions and concerns we had about ourselves as it relates to yoga. Can't wait to try out a few more classes this week. I am a member here and it's one of the better yoga studios I have been too' however it lacks beginner/intermediate level classes. I'm a busy mom with two kiddos and have done some yoga in the past mostly via youtube videos during shutdown and know the basic moves. However, I've just really started my yoga journey after being a couch potato/gaining 20lbs so I started at negative in the fitness range. So far, I've done about 22 classes at Ra Yoga and am finally not feeling like death after completing a class - 6 weeks or so into it. I just want to say that there are very few instructors who cater to anyone that is a beginner in their yoga journey. Fabian is one who modifies; however, there is one instructor in particular who is under the impression she's training the class for cirque de soleil vs. you know, trying to work on basic balance to not break our hips in the shower. And the name of the classes do not help. Yogalates can VARY greatly depending on the instructor. There should be more ways to tell a LEVEL of a class and way more introductory classes on the schedule. For instance on Tuesday for example, there are 5 Ra Vinyasa level 2 (& intro to level 2) classes and only 1 Level one class... what? And I simply do not understand why they do not have any weekday classes between 7:30-9AM. There's a huge mommy gap that could really use a beginner class then. There is a Ra Store class, but it's only a couple days a week at night. I do want to say this place is clean and professional and I love the app that allows you to book classes in advance. Note: this is hot yoga class: bring a yoga mat, a yoga matt towel, a personal small towel and water bottle. You will sweat! They do have a locker changing area with shampoo & conditioner. For some reason the Newport location does not have hooks by the shower which is kinda basic. The Newport location has some really hard-core inspirational instructors and is slightly nicer than long beach... haven't tried Costa Mesa yet. read more

I enjoy going to Ra! It's a good sweat, especially the Wednesday yogalates class! I usually go through ClassPass however their system does not work well. Something I would recommend they fix. Lastly it fills up quickly and there isn't much room between you and your neighbors - another thing I wish they would fix - adding a limit. However the location is ideal, clean and great teachers. "No" means "no," except at RA yoga. I am a very experienced yogi with early 2500 hours of practice all over the world. I have taken several very enjoyable classes at this studio when in the area, but this past week, I had quite a disturbing incident in a class with Cynthea. I know what is and is not right for my body. Particularly, because I suffer from a muscle disease. While in Cynthea's class, we were doing a figure four stretch. I used a modification I learned years ago to get a stronger stretch. Cynthea came over and insisted I do it her way. Then, without asking consent, physically grabbed my leg and tried to force it into position. I said a clear "no". Cynthea disregarded my instruction and continued to touch me. I said "no" a second time and she finally desisted. In this day and age, everyone is sensitive to touching someone of the opposite sex. I have never before had a yoga instructor touch me without first asking consent. All other teachers at RA have done that. Given the recent news articles and Netflix documentary about this very issue in yoga, I'm shocked to find thIs conduct still persists. read more

I started going to Ra yoga in Costa Mesa about six years ago. I have been obsessed with it ever since. I would drive from Seal Beach to the Costa Mesa and Newport location in traffic because I loved it so much!!! When the Long Beach location opened up I was thrilled to have Ra close to my home. This studio is like a sanctuary. Everyone at the front is kind and helpful. The instructors are all unique. You cannot put a price on what you get from their classes. I've been practicing yoga at home for some time now, but it felt like a good time to start going back to classes. It was so nice to see that this place opened a location in Long Beach pretty close to my job, so I could come here to practice. I went here for a free week trial, where I was able to attend as many classes I wanted to within seven days. I was able to attend 3, which included a Yin Restore yoga, Hot Ra Yoga, and a Vinyasa Level 1 class. The Yin Restore class (8 PM) was new to me, which had more focus on stretching and relaxing. It was done in the dark (with a few faux candles), so it helped me with going to sleep after the class. The Hot Ra 60 minute class was fun, which was a condensed version of the usual 90 minute bikram class; instead of doing each pose twice, you only do each post once. I enjoyed this class and was happy to get my sweat one after a few years of not doing bikram! The vinyasa level 1 class was fun. It wasn't heated, and while I knew some poses, there were a few that were challenging. The vibes in all of the classes were a little different from each other, but overall friendly and welcoming. The studio is very clean and modern with a few cool amenities, like a water station, lockers, and showers. If you plan to attend a class, there is no booking necessary but it is first come first serve so plan to arrive early to ensure a spot to practice. I ended up buying a special that was happening at the time (15 classes for $159) since my free trial and I'm excited to start taking classes soon! read more

Great studio- lots of variety. For intermediate/advanced, Paul is the BEST. He really challenges you and over time gets to know you, your practice, what you are capable of and how he can push you. I live 20 mins away it is not close but definltly worth the drive! I received a 7 day free trial. i didnt think I would actually want to drive to do this as my Long Beach friend invited me to one class. Since then I have joined and I really love the studio the atmosphere and the instructors! There is a class for everyone. Just try a few if you don't enjoy the instructor who talks you thru everything then maybe you need the more advance class. I personally need lots of que's! Always clean and in order. I am in love with this studio!!! I've been to quite a few yoga studios throughout the last 3 years and this is my all time favorite. I was just introduced to this class a month ago. The girls are super friendly and welcoming, and the instructors are truly the best! Jill is the kindest soul and i love her style of teaching. There's quite a few different classes that they offer and there's two rooms so there's plenty of times that you can choose throughout the day. I've only done hot ra, vinyasa flow and yogalates so far. They are all wonderful classes, a great workout as well as super peaceful and zen. My favorite is definitely the yogalates, because it's pretty challenging and a little more upbeat but leaves you feeling so great. It's low impact and HIGH high intensity, and it's super doable. the instructors sometimes even tells you how you can modify it to make it easier, or to make it harder for those who've been doing it for a while. it's truly amazing, i'm glad i finally found a workout where I don't dread going to it! also they have a free week trial, so I suggest you come and try it and make the most out of the week! you will not regret it. read more
