Warm greeting upon our arrival. We had placed a reservation but probably wasn't necessary for lunch as the restaurant was fairly empty and we chose a table at the window overlooking the river.Great view and can't wait to return during the warmer weather to sit on the outside patio riverfront. The food is pretty typical tavern fare, burgers, pizza, salads, nothing out of the ordinary. I was with a table of five and our orders varied from a salad to chicken sandwich to a catfish sandwich, etc.. Everyone enjoyed their food so no complaints there. The only reason I dropped a star is my friend had ordered a club soda with a splash of cranberry and they charged her $5.50 and another $5.50 for a refill. We assumed it was a mistake and brought it to their attention, the waitress brought it back to her superior and they refused to alter the bill. We all agreed that $5.50 was expensive for a club soda but to ask if she wanted a refill and to recharge that amount seemed pretty unreasonable. When they refused to remove, it really did not bode well for good customer relations. Kind of left us all with a bad taste in our mouths. Hope they read this and change that policy. read more

Love the location with outdoor views of the city and waterfront. Visited with a party of 14 and our server was wonderful. She was attentive and handled our big group with ease. The menu was interesting. I found the pricing to be expensive for bar fare. Some of the appetizers sounded amazing but I didn't want to pay 23 dollars for shumai. I ordered the rabbit stew soup made with actual rabbit. I got provolone on top for an additional dollar. The soup was tasty. I found a bone in the soup but I suppose that comes with the territory. For my entree, I ordered the steak out flatbread with a side salad. I enjoyed the shaved steak on the naan. Great texture and flavor. As we are a large party I sampled items others ordered and appreciated the quality. Great bar atmosphere and decor. We even saw a booth designated as the mayor's. Didn't realize it was karaoke night and got roped into singing. It added a fun and adventurous element to the evening. Today was our first time here and Reggie was our server. This gem is nestled in Corn Hill and in the perfect location. There is both indoor and outdoor seating, weather permitting. Looks like there's an outdoor bar and Cornhole set up as well. We ordered drinks and the Chicken and Waffle App, Mac Salad and the Friday Fish Fry with Sweet Potato Fries. Everything was absolutely amazing. We enjoyed Reggie's spirit, singing and service! The fish fry was incredible and the sweet potato fries were sprinkled with sugar and love. Love this place. It's located in the little collection of businesses in the Corn Hill neighborhood. They have a wonderful selection of beers and a great menu. The wait and bar staff were great. Popped in with a few friends on a Thursday night. Not sure what they are going for but there was a sign about Kareoke going on but it wasn't happening. However, there were bright flashing lights and loud music playing. There appeared to only be one waitress on at the time. There were maybe 3 other tables of people so it was fairly empty. Still, it took awhile for everything from getting menus to food to paying the bill. I had their version of a garbage plate where you get to pick your options. The food was good overall. After an event, we decided to stay in the area and grab a bite at The Rabbit Hole Tavern. I'm not quite sure what the vibe is--whether it's a restaurant, tavern, nightlife spot, or just a place to sit outside and enjoy the Genesee River. We went on a Thursday, and it wasn't too busy, but there was only one server, so things took a little while to get sorted. Our server was friendly and apologetic. The menu is extensive, so if you leave hungry, that's on you. I can't speak to the cocktail, beer, or wine selection, but I assume it's pretty good. We ordered a few things, and everyone seemed happy with their choices. I got the Chicken Sammy, which you can order grilled or fried. I asked for fried with cheese, but it came grilled, which was confusing. The fries, though tasty, were lukewarm at best. I didn't make a fuss about it since I was hungry, and the flavor was decent. It was nice catching up with friends, but it felt like everything took a while to get going. Also, you're supposed to wait to be seated, but after being greeted, we were told to seat ourselves. On top of that, I had to grab napkins and silverware from another table. This spot has changed hands quite a bit over the last ten years. I'm not sure if it's a location issue or something else. Moving forward, I wish them well. Would I come back? Maybe--for the view when the weather is nice. I'd probably sit outside and just order some appetizers and drinks. My fiancé and I came over the summer and sat outside. It was quiet but I would beware of sitting next to the trash cans on the pathway below. They can get extremely stinky on hotter days. Unfortunately we had an experience that negatively impacted our dinner even though the food and service were good. The chicken wings were super crispy and the pizza was decent. I really liked Rabbit Hole Tavern. We had a table with a beautiful view of the water. It wasn't that crowded around 7pm on a Wednesday. We received quick service and the food was great. I ordered the Reuben which came with a salad and fries. The reuban was not what I was expecting at all. The corned beef was thick instead of thinly shaved. They had several beers on tap- including some hazy's- YAY. Parking was a pain despite it not being crowded. There is a lot that we couldn't find a spot in so we parked on the street. Met a couple friends here for brunch this past Sunday and was really pleasantly surprised! We all liked the menu, but still weren't sure what the food would be like, especially since this place has been open a while but we haven't heard much about it. But food was really great. First, all the sandwiches and burgers come with a side salad AND a side. Burgers are waygu beef and rolls are fresh. Sandwich size was generous and two of us could have easily split one sandwich, salad and side and been stuffed. Second, burgers were good quality, cooked perfectly and full of flavor. The queso/jalapeno burger was one of the best burgers I've had in ages, with both the cheese and peppers really adding to depth of flavor. The sweet potato fries were cooked well and dusted with - I think - cinnamon sugar...The fries were sweet enough without that and I would have preferred no seasoning. Simple side salads were fine - I actually liked that the salads were included instead of having to order them on the side - and dressing on the side (not smothering the salad) was nice too. I took off a star for the following: -- full bar but no mocktails...um...?? -- two of us asked for no onions on the sandwiches but they still came out with onions on them -- our server seemed to be the only person working the restaurant and as a result it was hard to get her attention for things like refills on our water Despite those minor things, we enjoyed the experience and felt food was great. My family went here yesterday for my aunt's birthday. We had a table of 12 and we all arrived and were sat at 6:30pm. Our server was new so we were kind and mindful of that. The food was slow, but we know that's more of a kitchen problem. My sister ordered my 4yr old niece's food from the kids menu around 6:45pm so she could eat first. The rest of us placed our orders at 7:00pm. My niece's food didn't arrive to the table until 7:45pm. We noticed how late that was and started to be concerned about our order. At 8:00pm we asked our server about our food and he said it'll be out in about 5 minutes. At 8:20pm we still didn't have our food and asked if we could speak to the manager. She came out and told us that all meals take about 35 minutes. That's understandable, but that's not what happened. I explained they brought out a child's dinner an hour after it was ordered. And we ordered at 7:00pm and it's 8:20pm and we still didn't have our food. The manager made some other excuse about their chefs changing shifts. Which again is understandable, but it doesn't explain why our food wasn't out after ordering over an hour ago. My cousin then asked if there was some sort of discount they could provide for the lack of service. The manager told her no, then I spoke up and asked could they at least take the drinks off or something? I explained two people from our party decided to go because of the wait. I also explained that we ordered at 7:00pm so by her logic that every order takes 35 minutes wasn't the case for us. 35 minutes came and gone a few times since we ordered. She then said OK and when everyone's food came out it was cold. The restaurant is really cute and has great views and the food isn't bad, but unfortunately we had terrible service. My family won't be coming back and I wouldn't recommend this place. The lack of accountability wasn't OK. No one ever came by to check if we were OK or even apologize for the wait. It seemed like they didn't care about providing good service because the tip was already included due to our party size. read more

Let's start with the fact that I saw the bartender use a dirty glass to make a new drink in, and then serve it to someone else... He simply tossed out the old cocktail dressings, and started filling it with a new drink. That alone was crazy! Food orders took a lot longer than expected even though there were only a few other tables occupied with people (and 3/4 of these few already had food). The pizza was far too salty. Great first experience! Came in for a ladies night on a Wednesday. Half price wings w/ a side salad AND a side? Yes please! I had the plain chicken wings w/ country sweet on the side, salad w/ cider vinaigrette, and sweet potato fries cooked to perfection. The vibe and server were good. It was empty when we got there around 1pm on a Sat. but then some other tables started filling up inside and out. We ordered the poutine minus the meat sauce. So it was fries , bacon bits , and queso cheese over it. It was meh..maybe the meat sauce would of made it memorable. We ordered the Pipin' Hot Pizza , the sauce was good but definitely a frozen crust. Like cardboard and hard to chew. If they made fresh crust their pizzas would be way better. And the cheese wouldn't break by just pulling it, you had to grab it and seperate it. The ingredients were just not top notch. You can't skimp on crappy cheese when it's one of the stars of the show. Then we had the dry rubbed caribbean jerk wings. The wings are fairly priced but a little over cooked and dry. Wouldn't get them again. Then the catfish sandwich. whew , that fish tasted like it came out of the Genesee River. OMG. I'll eat any seafood ever served and for me to think fish is nasty is saying something. I had three bites just to make sure. I was asked if I needed a togo box and I told her no with 3/4 of the sandwich not eaten. You'd think they would ask if something was wrong with it. The fish was good size and cooked right, but was way to fishy. I mean the menu looks good and I might come back and try a burger. The rolls were good and the veg was fresh. Was given an extremely hard time for having my service dog on the patio. The bartender looked like I personally offended her and I was forced to show his registration which is illegal for an establishment to request. Once they finally allowed me to sit on the patio they put me in a section without a server and I sat for 15min before having to ask someone to serve me. Very impressive restaurant, the servers were great. The food was very good and it came pretty quick. They have a cool draft beer system, beer fills through the bottom of the glass.
